I am running late in passing this forward, but to paraphrase Alan Jackson 'It is Sunday, somewhere'. I wish to thank @HistoryDude for entrusting me with this award. To me, fan of the week is the greatest weekly award as it signifies that you have been giving back to the community. I wish to thank @Bullfilter (last won 2021), @streaker77 (2019), @Wraith11B (2021), @Specialist290 (July), @Idhrendur (2021), @Nikolai (2021), @stnylan (2020, I try to follow the advice in your signature), @TheButterflyComposer (July, I think that I just read your very first post.), @Macavity116 (January), @Bibliophile (2021), and @El Pip (2021, I am currently reading TBE, when can I start commenting, when I reach July2017 (quit lurking, joined forum, started hitting like), June2020 (startied commenting at @Bullfilter's urging) or completely caught up) for your kind words. Special thank you to @Qorten (2015) for being a moderator and keeping us straight. Q, if you are not the person who updates the list in post 1, I would like to thank that person as well.
I recently read an extremely poignant comment from @Davout (2010). He thanked @El Pip for his writings, which helped him through a very difficult time in his life. Davy, that comment may be worthy of comment of the year.
My choice of Fan of the Week is a commenter who I find across multiple genre with insight comments. @roverS3 (2021), take this mantle, wear it proudly for the next week and bask in richly deserved accolades from your peers.
(Looking at the list, I think that I was two weeks shy of the six months. Does anyone want the award back and retract their kind words?)
