I've returned from holiday just in time. Congratulations @TheButterflyComposer , very richly deserved. Your contributions are always appreciated and are especially impressive given your ongoing RL issues.

Okay, time for some recommendations and then a nomination. Much like the rest of my forum work, this was delayed by hospital (NHS is amazing but I imagine I'll be going private soon just for a nicer bed).

@ThaHoward AAR about a Trotsky World Revolution is entering an interlude before a final showdown with the Amercias and Asia, so well worth a look in now to catch up.

Before Plantagent is always a good read and has recently entered a long expected new era with a new king (but this time he's not evil and incompetent. Just really morally dubious).

For fans of really old AARs, The Butterfly Effect has been surprisingly active recently, though who knows how long that will last knowing El Pip.

And as is becoming traditional, I recommend all of @Bullfilter and @coz1 works.

(My stuff is waylaid by long stretches of poor health but has been known to be considered 'okay', 'exceptionally alright' and 'well, it was better than nothing'.)

Everyone who has read all this, or has no interest...actually everyone reading this, because I think this is good advice: go to the main AAR page and read the threads. Lots of useful stuff there that people pass over to get to the 'good stuff'. And speaking of AARs, go to a game page you haven't been to before and have a look. Not every HOI4 one is a let's play (not many but...) and not every CKII is an epic of scary length and quality.

As for fans...(check the list)…

Oh my, we've all been voting for each other this year...

Um. Okay, well this guy hasn't been given it before (I think?) and he's everywhere, usually arguing with me. Which probably means he's commenting a lot.

I would like to award @diskoerekto this achievement, for ably running the Turkish mountaineering school, advising the Roman senate and running some raids in CKII. He's new blood and he doesn't just frequent the CKII pages. Bonus!

Ah, great nomination @TheButterflyComposer, one couldn’t ask for a more dedicated supporter than @diskoerekto, to whom I offer the most heartfelt congratulations. Vur ha! :D

Thanks too for the shout-outs TBC, your support for my work has been greatly appreciated - of course to the awarding of full Sith Lord status in the TT alternate reality, Darth Kelebek.:)

May your health and nervous energy bring a welcome return of your own works as soon as can be managed, but until then I (and I’m sure the many others who benefit from your support for their AARs) wish you all the best for a steady recovery.

Hmm...Italy is ready to go as a matter of fact. Tomorrow morning we land in Mussolini's back garden. Literally.

Well done to @diskoerekto again.

Congratulations!

I wish you better health, thank you for the AAR recommendations, but for the purposes of this thread, mainly thank you for your award! Especially coming from the notorious Darth Kelebek, this award means a lot for me. Get well soon :)

I hadn't been coming to this forum and hadn't played a Paradox game for many years and I was at a somewhat dark time in my life, I was looking for something new but something familiar and warm. I had so fun times following the now inactive authaars like @Iain Wilson or @PrawnStar 8-10 years or so ago. So I found the forums, reactivated my account (the authentication method etc was changed in the meanwhile), went to AAR sections and started looking for fun AARs. The first one I found was the famous Talking Turkey of @Bullfilter which is really going great, where I also met @TheButterflyComposer, usually arguing with him. He's romantically realistic and I'm realistically romantic about military and governance matters. So, from there I started following other AARs of @Bullfilter, then AARs of some other commenters, and so on.

In time, I also started my own AAR, which is kinda on a hiatus at the moment (my personal computer is dead at the moment, work too busy and I'm spending more time with my SO but I'll definitely return to the Victorian adventures of Transvaal.

On the other hand, commenting on other AARs as a fan can be done during breaks at work and stuff, so here I am :)

Congratulations, @diskoerekto !
My congratulations @diskoerekto .
Congratulations!
Thanks all for your good wishes, what can I say, obsessing over AARs pay off in the end :) I know you all from your own AARs (which I occasionally post) or as co-fans in other AARs and I'm happy to be in this company and be a part of this community.

In the name of Odin's smelly scrotum, VUR HA! :D Thank you for your compliment, but also thank you for your patience for all my comments :)

Really guys, if anybody here is not following his AARs, just do so they are good.

Oh the fun we have.
I don't know whether this was ever a thing outside of england, but this reminds me very much of newspaper letter duels from the old days of print media. According to my grandfather, on some occasions such epics would last weeks and weeks in the letters section of national newspapers, with people clearly reading the letters and then sending off one sentence responces.

And when i say one sentence it was often one word. And the topics ranged from milk prices to british defence plans with other countries.

An impressive list of fans that have been awAARded since last time I had time to look at this thread! All of you certainly deserve it, and since I'm here now I will use this post to give you all my congratulations!

A good choice TBC and congratulations @diskoerekto
Thank you all for your kind words, as I said before, it is a great thing to be a part of this neighborhood.

It is always nice to keep old traditions alive, right? :)

It's been one and a half week @diskoerekto ;)
Work is crazy, and my laptop is dead (not dead but halfway there) at home which is also the reason my own AAR is on a hiatus, so I missed track of this thread even though I already had in mind a very good candidate with whom I share the comments of some AARs. I nominate @Specialist290 for this special honor. You deserve it fully.
