I notice that Crusader Kings has gone with Roman numerals whislt Victoria adopted those new fangled Arabic numerals.

What does this mean?

I myself would have prefered to have a Victoria II sitting alongside my Crusader Kings II but will have to accept this.

The most likely reason that Victoria II would be VII in short, which is confusing since that is 7 in roman numericals.

Victoria 2 frustrated me because on GamersGate, I downloaded Victoria 2 and the Lament for the Queen DLC but the default folder for the Lament installation uses the folder path "Victoria II" so I had to correct one for it to install properly

I like the Roman numerals better because that is what other Paradox games use. In fact the Victoria 2 desktop icon has a Roman numeral II.

No, HoI3 is called HoI3 not HoIIII (since that would also be very confusing).

And HoI2 is called HoI2 and not HoIII :)

Oh, my bad then :D

I was going by my desktop icons. By default, it is labelled "Hearts of Iron III" whereas Victoria 2 is labelled "Victoria 2" by default. And I also have "Europa Universalis III" on my desktop, so V2 is the odd one out.

Ah now I see. I was going by how the games are named on the forum.

Hearts of Iron III is the name the game has on my laptop :)

Consistency. They used Latin numerals in Europe in 1066 ;)

My hard copy of V2 uses Roman numerals, so uh, yeah. Like Veld said it was probably to make things less confusing.

That those Saracen numerals are arcane, heathen, un-Christian and in all ways inappropriate for a Crusader King.

Ck ii?

Victoria has a 2 behind it but Ck has a II behind it? Why?

Okay... This is getting really weird. Can't they decide to have just a 2 or II? xD
