Anarchists?
We destroy the society in name of freedom.

Anarchists are well know because their reluctancy about reforms.

The more news I hear, the more I fear for our republic. Jailbreaks? Coups? Our society is in chaos! The actions by the YA show that they have no respect for the law; by Blanqui, for elections. Whether Kadon was jailed unjustly or is guilty by association is something for a jury, not an unruly mob waving the flag of anarchism, to decide. TBH, I thought he was not responsible for the actions of one person acting as a member of his organization, but now we have seen the YA's true colors: they are a destructive force that was just waiting for an excuse to be unleashed. Thus, he is responsible for uniting so many violent dissidents. A just punishment would be some jail time and the disbanding of the YA. He has already served, what, a dozen years? That is long enough, but the YA should still be disbanded.
Nor is the AKVD totally innocent. They were looking not so much to reclaim the people's property stolen by the bourgeoisie as for an excuse to kill people and frighten people into supporting Blanqui. Luckily, they failed. Thugs, all of them. In the interest of fairness and amicability, he should serve as much time in prison as Kadon has, and the AKVD should also be disbanded.
We are supposed to be representatives of the people. Are the people as unruly, divisive, and violent as we are?

OOC: Tommy, what is the VSVR's National Value?

@ enf91: The national value is equality of course.

While I support the UC on most issues, I must applaud the YA for their strategic performance. Baiting the force of Reaction into its own destruction? Brilliant! Perhaps the Workers' Republic can copy this technique against the neighboring capitalist regimes?

Remember, socialism cannot truly succeed in isolation. We must ultimately unite those workers of the world who cannot do so themselves.

This turn of events saddens me, as now us Marxists will be painted as oppressors when Blanqui was the one to blame. Anarchists will win more support, and the republic will come undone. I thought that maybe we could find a solution to this simmering kettle of insurrection, but apparently we can't.

The republic will NOT come undone unless you yourselves perpetrate it!

And you have proof in the form of quotes readily available?

Christ, it's right there in the platform that Tommy made. More to the point, you guys are being INCREDIBLY BAD SPORTS. Your extremely antagonistic behavior is completely outside the spirit of enjoying the thread. Antagonize us in character if you want, but you guys are just being out of character jerks by questioning any basic statement we make.

After the Fire said:
Don't turn around, uh-oh
Der Kommissar's in town, uh-oh
And if he talks to you
And you don't know why
You say your life
He's gonna make you die
Alles klar, Herr Kommissar

Ah play fair, you get to revel when you win. So do we. We're pretty much done gloating though.

I didn't think I was doing anything wrong, I'm a little confused here.

I think we should all settle down and just wait to see what happens in the update. There's no use for any of us to be actually fighting over what never happened in 1865.
I think this might be the one time I'll agree with winsingtonIII. The debate's worn out its usefulness. Marxists, Anarchists, we're not going to convince each other of anything.

There's new topics of discussion:
  • What will become of Blanqui? Perhaps an ... INTERACTIVE TRIAL? (or at least a randomly-selected jury? :D)
  • Will Marxists call for Blanqui's head, as they did for Kadon (9 years ago)?
  • Are the Communards going to remain an organized force?
  • Do the Marxists accept the legitimacy of this government if a great deal of power is being shared with Collective Anarchists of all varieties?
  • Was Blanqui's coup d'etat an acceptable response to a jailbreak?
  • Do Marxists agree that anarchists played a crucial role in protecting our democracy & the People's Republic from a coup d'etat?

Also, have we enacted women's suffrage? I don't recall it, but it could be in there. If we haven't, I'd like to see that pursued in the near future.

EDIT: This isn't really a topic of discussion, because we can all agree now: KADON IS A HERO AND EVERYONE LOVES HIM NOW! GOOD JOB, KADON!

I promise I'm not nearly as annoying on any thread other than this one, which promotes so much fake political argument...

Sorry bout all those calls for locking you up... :D

Just ribbing! Now for cultural unity purposes, praise Kadon, hero of the '65 revolution!
