Moving to America was an act of desperation. The alternative would be slowly getting squeezed in between Marketing Sea and Burgundy/Dutch and share the fate of Hamburg and then be relocated to some backwards piece of the world like Theodoro or Kilwa
Hopefully we get more spread out spawns next time!
... well... that's a false dichotomy
1) nobody forced you to play Dithmarschen. I presume you picked it for the RP (*) aspect after having to top the thing that catapulted you to a fan favourite with your Byzantium-move last season. I think other than Ulm, you could not have picked a more meme-worthy (**) tag
2) also, there is a strange concept called "diplomacy". that's the thing that made Bratyn survive as vassal under a human player and end up in 3rd place. e.g. coundn't the marketeers be convinced to get the (arguably) best rapid expander and multi-front-fighter on their side as long as you'd guarantee them their uncontested claim to the baltic sea and Prussia? Sweden grew some 5-10 provinces since the turn than Norway was backstabbed
... just saying - I greatly appreciate your coolness / unsaltiness despite everything, but you did bring it on yourself
(*) Speaking of role-playing: while I realise that many viewers find this enjoyable, it does literally harm many ambitions. e.g. @Bratyn, why insist on New Amsterdam, knowing very well that this will give KJ an easy VC on you. That was cost you and France shitloads of time and manpower that could have instead been used to get riches in Asia. You and KJ would not have needed to spend all those points on Naval and Maritime ideas and instead could have units that could actually fight land battles. Also in the enforced triple-alliance game: by trying to go for another Mare Nostrum you lacked the geographic "depth" to actually defend against Prussia/Russia/Poland. With The mountains of Austria, Switzerland, etc. the war could have turned out very differetly.
I'd like to appeal to the players who actually have ambitions to get less bogged down in RP go for the juggular! StarNaN is the best example of no-bullshit
(**) More a question to all: people explain to an old fart like me (40ish) what makes memes appealing after more than n times hearing. DNote's "selling out" was about 5 seasons ago, "bordergore" is mentioned way too ofter in my opinion, and I think everybody gets it now that Venice AI surprised the pope and Nitra is a fun releasable country. But 10'000 "AVEs" and "NAVEs" in twitch chat... doesn't that get tiring to any adult?
A commendable thumbs up to all trustworthy players: Bratyn and BurgundianParadox, sidestep the loyal ally in the shadows and this game especially Da9l, who let himself be payed to entertain the masses! Other players know who they can trust.
Finally: probably the highlights of game game must have been the "enforce peace" mechanic (could be abused in so many ways!) and especially Persias selling out of Poland: "oh shit, I'm losing the war from multiple sides. Please stop: you can have Berlin!"
