I don't frequent the main AAR hub as much as I should, but thank you @Nuada Airgetlám for being one of my most active followers. There's a huge moral boost in writing AARs when you've got comments on every chapter, and especially if you've got people who are visible interested in and keeping up with the story.

You're very welcome @Yenzen . I try not to just lurk these days, and to visibly show interest in AARs that I'm following. I have since learned how much I enjoy comments on my own AAR. :)

I have seen many comments in AARs by @Crimson Drakon but I don't believe any fan of the week nomination. Well, that changes now. Congratulations!

Congratulations, @Crimson Drakon !

Very many congratulations

Many thanks @Nuada Airgetlám for the honor of the award! While myself I do not comment on many AARs, I try those that I have followed to actively express my opinion and encouragement for the writer! Continuing the tradition, at the time of passing the award I shall write a word or two about those AArs I am a fan :)

Many many thanks also for the congratulations!

Congratulations!

Congrats ! :)

Congratulations!

Thank you very much!

Time has come to pass the award! I give the nomination for fan of the week to @Specialist290 for his active, supportive and insightful comments on many AARs, and all writers agree how a second view often encourages one to continue. Congratulations!

As I am still recovering from a severe case of flu, I can only write a few good words for three AARs I am more or less following this time period in CKII mainly, in no particular order:
a) it is Millennium's Eve - A CK2+ Ireland AAR by @Nuada Airgetlám which tells the story of the High King of Ireland and has the virtue through the screenshots to be able to follow it as if you are a co-participant in the game and it adds to its immersion,
b) The TOSCGA -- Torrechiavenna of Snow-Capped Grisons AAR (Old Gods) by @fabiolundiense , which has almost covered its CKII time span and I hope (but with no pressure) that we see a continuation in EUIV as the Torrechiavenna family through clever marriages has expanded to royal courts beyond Italy and each ruler is presented in a realistic manner
and
c) Și noi suntem de sânge rumân - A Romanian AAR [HIP] by @Emperor_of_Nothing , a recently started and mentioned AAR also blessed with a good dosage of images and writing, with captivating action and promising story.

I wish you all good holidays and I hope the court physician does not try any experimental treatments (a little ck2 joke for those who know ;) )

Well, this is certainly a pleasant surprise to wake up to! :)

I want to take this opportunity to highlight a few relatively new AARs I've been particularly enjoying recently:

* Tale of Hindustan Retold: Gupta Twice-Born (CK2): Partly as a little bit of quid pro quo for being named Fan of the Week by its author, but also because it's an enjoyable tale in its own right about a less-well experienced region of the game. It's also a "story within a story," with the main narrative being told by an old Indian merchant to a Christian lord in the framing narrative; I'm intrigued to see where that ends up going.

* Empire for Liberty: America in the Long Nineteenth Century (Vic2): A clearly well-researched and thought-provoking AAR that emphasizes how the United States's history has been shaped by different perceptions of what "liberty" means, particularly when they clash.

* Pax Humanitas (Stellaris): stnylan is an old hand at AAR writing, and his work is always a pleasure to read. I'm particularly enjoying the way he weaves different narrative threads through the game's events, as well as how his civilization's culture shines through in little details like his unique spin on how his homeworld's tile blockers got there in the first place.

* Space: The Fungal Frontier (Stellaris): Farquharson is another older author whose recently returned with a new AAR. I've always enjoyed the wit and understated dry humor of his comedy style.

Go read them; hope you enjoy them as much as I have!

Very many congratulations. It is very well deserved.

Congratulations! A worthy winner and can only second his recommendations for aars.:)

Very well deserved Specialist290! :)

Well done! This honor is most deserved!! Congrats, Specialist!

Once again, thank you all for the congratulations. I hope each and every one of you has a pleasant New Year :)

It's about time for me to think of turning over the Fan of the Week to a new bearer. As a general rule, I try to look for something exceptional when this responsibility is thrust upon me, whether it be a pattern of making particularly thoughtful comments, a clear enthusiasm for encouraging new and promising writers, or something else that really stands out to me. I also typically try to favor those who haven't been given the award before, or at the very least those who haven't been awarded too recently or too frequently, though that's not a hard and fast rule.

In any case, I'm announcing that my selection for the coming week's Fan of the Week will be @Director. He hasn't necessarily commented frequently or in a wide selection of AARs, but what he lacks in quantity I believe he more than makes up for in quality by making engaging, insightful, and thought-provoking observations. He's certainly not an unfamiliar name 'round these parts, and I hope that everyone will agree that he's worthy of a little recognition :)

A fine choice, indeed. I can attest that though Director may not be around as much as he once was, when he does leave comment it is always a quality all on its own. Further, at least in my case, he is a fan (and a great assistance) behind the scenes. He and I have been running our tales past each other for many years. He is clearly a fan of them or else he would have told me to stuff it. ;)

As an aside, a little birdy tells me we may be seeing a bit more of Director sometime soon. But I won't let that cat out of the bag just yet. :p

For now, many congratulations my dear and good friend. It is always well deserved for a lifetime of great fandom of this forum and for the works found therein.
