This was tweeted out by the main stellaris twitter in response to a question about complexity in the console version. We already know most of this, however there are a couple of useful things that are new.
    • The "blocked" district tiles are indeed because of Deposit/Feature Blockers. (evolution of current tile blockers).
    • Slaves are their own strata.
    • Autochthon Monument Gives "culture worker" (WIP name?) jobs every 30 infrastructure.

    Civics changing ruler classes
  • Twitter
Some civics will change the composition of your ruling classes in the @StellarisGame 'Le Guin' update. For example, Aristocratic Elite unlocks stability-increasing Noble jobs - perfect for an empire that doesn't want to be reliant on the happiness of the masses to maintain order.

    Planet auto-labels
  • For the people who wanted the worlds to have flavour names like the systems:

    Twitter

The 2.2 'Le Guin' update will have auto-generated labels for planets based on their districts and buildings, similar to the way star systems and starbases currently get labeled. Here's a look at an agri-world.

    Building graphics behind pops (experimental)
  • After some feedback from today:

    Twitter
Experimenting with improved visuals in the population screen as a result of feedback in the dev diary thread. Wanted to see what putting building graphics behind the working pops would look like. I like it so far.

Changes to Authoritarianism and Slaver Guilds
  • Twitter
In the Le Guin update, Authoritarians no longer have slavery through Caste System by default. Instead, the Slaver Guilds civic allows you to play an empire that enslaves a part of its own species, while regular Authoritarians simply extract more from their lower class workers.

    Average Happiness
  • https://twitter.com/Martin_Anward/status/1034387593172082689:
"In the 2.2 'Le Guin' update, happiness no longer directly impacts pop productivity, but rather counts towards the Average Happiness of the planet, which affects stability. Under most living standards, the happiness of higher Strata pops counts for more towards this value."

    Miscellaneous
  • A few things that can be of interest and answer some possible doubts:

"Robots are not affected by happiness unless sapient.

Enforcers come from capital and police buildings.

    Temples are buildings as before."

    https://twitter.com/Martin_Anward/status/1034391529895456768

"Pops without happiness are not considered at all when calculating average happiness."

    https://twitter.com/Martin_Anward/status/1034393165233577985

"Stability ranges from 0 - 100%, with effects scaling from the mid-line point"
    https://twitter.com/Martin_Anward/status/1034388816432439296

"Crime is definitely something that will be manageable, and that you may not be able to stamp out entirely, especially on heavily populated planets. It's probably not wise to ignore it entirely though."

    Economic policies
  • Twitter

Going to start writing today's dev diary shortly! For now, here's a peek at some new economic policies in the Le Guin update that allow you to specialize your economy.

  • Fallen Empires
  • Fallen Empires teasers:

Xenophobe "The Core" Capital have the non-confirmed/speculated "Ecumenopolis" graphical art.

They did not show the capital, but showed one of the colonies, the Boundary planet. It have Unique Buildings that produce a lot of things.

Fallen Empires have most of the population in the "Hedonist" jobs, being fallen doing nothing all day just consuming A LOT of luxury things.

And Fallen Empires will have different societies, but the Xenophobe in particular, have Non-sapient Robots doing all the Worker Jobs. "Fully automated luxury gay space xenophobia" by Wiz words.

    Resource names
  • Full names of the Resources. We have now something called "Arcane Technology".

    M8IgnZe.png

Usually there is going to be a seperate Thread with "Stream Treasers" for this, often with a link to here. They do overlap a bit.

I find it really interesting that Primitives are given that level of detail. That indicates the long awaited primitive rework is comming soon-ish.

So i'm not breaking any rules right? I apologise if i'm breaking.

    Research/tradition penalties (WIP)
  • Flavor text for features on Earth
  • Blocker rework
  • Twitter

An example of some of the iterative work that goes into features even after we have implemented the first design: Blockers in Le Guin have been changed from mere blocks on deposits to being planetary features in their own right, some of which will add new deposits when cleared.
