A great choice, Nikolai! Great minds clearly think alike as I was just looking to pass him a Veteran Showcase until I recalled his P for Portugal was nominated just last year. I heard that Farq was back and took chance to read the first post in the little time I've had of late and I can say that his comedy remains as strong as always. Hell, I'd give him this reward now for the great character of Pedro the Unwashed (an older character but one that I have utilized often over the years!)

Congrats, Farquharson! I have been hoping to get over to your new Stellaris work soon. Sadly, it sounds as though it is already finished. From the first post, I can only assume the olfactory character of the universe was too much for your fungi. ;) Or should I say, Fun Guys?

Awesome to have you back in the saddle! :)

Very many congratulations. It was a treat.

Thank you so much everyone, and particularly to Nikolai for the nomination! That came right out of the blue, and I have to confess that I've not been doing a lot of reading lately, having been "away" for about seven years . But such a nice surprise to come back and find so many familiar names still alive and kicking! Well, this gives me an excellent excuse to go browsing around to find some unsuspecting writer that I can land this on next!

Oh, and while I'm thanking people, I'll take this opportunity to thank Specialist290 for nominating "P is for Portugal" for the Veterans Showcase last year, an honour that, needless to say, I knew nothing about until coz1 just mentioned it above . And btw coz1, the Ganlarev (of "Space - the Fungal Frontier") could not by any stretch of the imagination be described as "Fun Guys", but I did have fun writing about them :D.

"Of course you did!"

:D

Sorry...Pedro the Unwashed could not be denied.

Very well deserved Farquhason! :) It was stumbling across one of your AARs that got me into Paradox game to begin with!

Congratulations!

Well, time to pass on this esteemed mantle to the next deserving wearer. I've been ranging far and wide looking for a fitting recipient, and discovering lots of good stuff. Several times I thought "Yes, this is the one!" only to discover that they had already been chosen for the honour just a few weeks ago... But in the end, I found my final choice while browsing through the CK2 AAR forum, always of course a fertile patch for character writing.

So without further ado, let me present the next nomination for Best Character Writer of the Week to DavidMK for his Roman Restoration 2.0 A WTWSMS AAR, telling the story of the rise to power of the Emperor Aeneas, saviour of the Western Empire. Congratulations!

Congratulations @DavidMK ! A WtWSMS AAR I hadn't noticed though, that surprises me.

My heartfelt gratitude. Honestly I never thought I'd be worthy of any kind of AAR nomination considering the quality of writing I've seen.

Congratulations @DavidMK ! A WtWSMS AAR I hadn't noticed though, that surprises me.

Feel free to enjoy. I also invite you to look up the original, sadly killed by an incompatible save file post 'The Reapers Due'.

Ah, nice! I thought I followed that AAR a year back, but I figured it died since I never saw it pop up again on my threads.

Congratulations, David!

Ya, I took a break from it to do Kurdish Rising (also killed by a post-expansion save killing patch) then went back to Roman Restoration only to find the version of version of WTWSMS I was using didn't work anymore. Quite annoying but I like how the current version of the AAR played out better anyway, far more things have happened in terms of character development.

Have we stalled again? Maybe time for a new CWoW perhaps.
