((I will wait to post the plans to after deciding if we go to war or not. Remember two things:

1. A war with Ming would mean a war against a fully-mobilized China, not even Hispania can match them unless we send our entire army to China.

2. But they are distracted on a war with Delhi, while it is good that give us initial advantage, when they finish their war on the Sultanate, they will turn millions of Experienced troops to multilate our armies.

That is why I suggest we Colonize Vietnam Instead, that would add another border to Ming.))

"Señor Spoleto,

I send this letter again to ask for a unnification of our parties, we would be willing to make you a leader of the Party and confirming it as a Triumvirate. And if you desire to become successor of the Imperials, why don't you claim the leadership of the Imperials then ?

We ought to carry on and go to war with Ming, we already have forces in Asia ready to move right back into Malwa, It will take so long for Ming to march troops into India we can defeat them peace meal. Also I hope to remind everyone that Dai Viet is a critical ally and trade partner of ours, not a nation to be colonized.

You see what the Minister of War said? He doesn't think we should reclaim our territory in China because he thinks their troops are some how superior to our own and he thinks we should backstab and conquer (colonize, are the words he used) our allies in Dai Viet, turning it into a mere colony rather than the industrializing nation that sells us cheap clothing and can afford to import our expensive products that it is. This is why I only wanted to work with the Moderates.

Having studied the Ming's strategies when I was in India, I believe that the Ming military command will attempt to send their troops to India, not expecting us to invade their mainland. We thus would have ample opportunity to crush what forces they still have in their mainland and win this war. And yes, I will not support any attempts to backstab our own allies. While they may be heathens, the Vietnamese have proven to be willing allies and trade partners.
The War Minister is just one man. I'm not defending his words, but the rest of his party surely will not make the same mistake he did.

Carlos Maria orders clean and filtered water from his main estates in Leon shipped to the refugees, hoping it will have some effect. He also orders troops to quarantine the camps and prevent the contagion from spreading further. He also asks for a map of the relative spread of the contagion in each part of the city and a map of the sewer system, especially one that has notes regarding the level of sewage in each part.

((Vietnam is our ally and our sphere. We don't kill our own allies/spheres.))
Alfonso shows Carlos the map he an Juan made

Hopefully one day Hispania will have a Minister of War that isn't some sort of crackpot.

((We should really change the Ministry of War to Ministry of Defense, it's been a while since we've had a MoW that isn't skeptical of war. :p))

Medrano, stop being dramatic. It is a reasonable concern that Ming could overwhelm our regional armies with their national forces.

((Just wanted to point out that antonioneto's comments were technically in OOC, so everyone's characters would know about them. Ideally though, policies would be discussed in-character, but it's a good habit to refrain from reacting to OOC comments.))

((Ok, I assuming that since this directly addresses the out break, that this won't cost us VP?))

((Seeing as I did it with safety reforms with that one event, it'd be hypocritical not to do it here too, so no penalty for healthcare reforms.))

((As Minister of Trade, I order the improvement the railroads in all foreign regions where Hispanians own railroads and will do this until otherwise is said. Note however, do not to expand/build new railroads where Hispanians don't own the railways.))

((You'll need the approval of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.))

Alfonso recommends that food monitored more throughly before being given to the refugees. He also collects several water samples from both the Tauria river, and the local water pumps, and sends them to the local university to be examined.

Perhaps it was being around the ill, or the process of thoroughly examining the food, or even the collection of water samples; either way, Alfonso is starting to feel nauseous and has the overwhelming urge to go to the bathroom.

Carlos Maria orders clean and filtered water from his main estates in Leon shipped to the refugees, hoping it will have some effect. He also asks for a map of the relative spread of the contagion in each part of the city and a map of the sewer system, especially one that has notes regarding the level of sewage in each part.

It will take some time for water to arrive from Leon, and who knows what could happen during the transportation or if it will make any difference.

The decision to quarantine the camp has sparked panic in the refugee camps as those not impacted by the disease are suddenly trapped with the ill and spreading the fear that the disease can spread easily. Whether this quarantine can hold the disease back will take time to discover.

A map reveals what is already obvious. The outbreaks are focused on the refugee camps. The sewer system runs through most of the city, dumping most of the refuse into the ocean or nearby rivers. The refugee camps are mostly placed in destroyed districts of the city or outside it, so the sewage system is not always available where they are stationed. No one seems willing to go through the sewer to figure out the levels of sewage without a decent reason to do so.

This seems interesting, I'm in.

((Forming a new party within Fraternidad, all are welcome :)))

Adelante (Forward)
Ideology: Progressivism/National Liberalism
Platform: Opportunist Secularism, Universal Monarchy, Pro-Meritocracy, Quasi-populist, Cosmopolitan Imperialism.
((Liberal, will probably eventually switch to Socialism, before it reaches it's final destination. ;)))

Party Issues:
- Free Trade
- Lassize faire
- Secularized
- Full Citizenship
- Jingoism

Newspaper:
Hispania Triunfo

Party Leader: Manuel Medrano

Members: ((Me plus the Assembly members I control))

About:

The origins of Adelante lie in the run up to the 1852 Hispanian Elections. A group of like minded assembly members worried that the Fraternidad was taking too much of an interventionist turn with industrial relations. It's fears were realize when after the elections, Fraternidad brought in the interventionist Partido Moderado-Cristiano into a grand coalition and caved on interventionist policy. Additionally, the Grand Coalition grew divided on the issue of military expansion, with the group that'd become Adelante being aggressively pro expansion.

Despite being vehemently anti-interventionism, be it industrial subsidies or "inflexible hour or safety mandates, Adelante is in favour of aggressive taxation on the wealthy, seeing it as a means to remove the unworthy, alongside low or non existence taxation for the rest of society, to facilitate their rise by merit. They also theoretically support a vast expansion of minimum wage, pensions, health care and unemployment subsidies, though those ambitions are tempered by a lack public support.

Despite being very much jingoist and/in favor of military expansion, Adelante is hostile to cultural chauvinism, seeing it as crude and counterproductive. Preferring instead "Human equity of practical opportunity under the crown from which the ideals of progress and power emanate from" seeing the Crown as a unifying force that represents ideals that all Hispanians--and soon to be Hispanians--ought to strive to meet.

It is not fully accurate to describe Adelante as being a fully secularist party, unwilling to sacrifice for the principals of secularism, but given the opportunity it will back moves towards secularization. Otherwise it will align often with soft pluralism.

It's members tend to be younger than average, while also hailing primarily from Southern Iberia, Italy and Africa, with the exception of the liberal hotbed of Douro.

When Alfonso first took ill he knew this could be trouble. He sent his adjutant to get stationary from the Minister of the Navy, in which he drafted a document that appointed his son as deputy of the MotN. He then reluctantly returned to his fleet, where naval doctors have some experience dealing with cholera at the naval hospital. He hoped the samples would turn up with some results.

((Sorry, was on vacation and then had some stress, cauz I will spend half a year in St. Johns, Newfoundland and Labrador. But now that everything is set i have time finally to participate again. Although I think it would be a good idea to make total restart, I would like to ask @Michaelangelo what would happen to all of Jimenez factories. could i keep them as my new character ones, or would they be passed to the state?))

((House refers to the Cortz, the noblemen's house, and the Assembly, anyone allowed.))

(("House" refers to the Houses of Parliament, the Assembly and the Cortz. The Cortz is comprised of nobles elected to seats by the emperor and the Assembly is comprised of people elected by the population of where they represent.))

((Some things. First, welcome. Second, we use the term Hispania, not Spain. Third, I don't really understand the part of your homeland being invaded taking in count the History of Hispania already writen. And fourth, there is no Islamic Party, so you would have to create it, or, join an already existant party, which I recommend, as right now heathens can't sit in the Assembly and there aren't many Muslim nobels. You can always join Cruzada Social within the Fraternidad ;)))
