((End in 1936, and continue on to HoI4. Perhabs not as an IAAR though))

((End in 1936, continue onto HOI4. Hopefully as a fascist/communist dictatorship, but we'll see.))

((End in 1936, continue onto HOI4. Hopefully as a fascist/communist dictatorship, but we'll see.))
((You know...
this was a Hohenzollern Megacampaign, not a Germany Megacampaign. You could have Germany go fascist/communist and play a different country that took the Hohenzollerns in.))

((End in 1936, continue to HOI IV, but I demand you fix the bordergore that's everywhere ;___;))

((Also, did someone say proletarian dictatorship? :3))

((End in 1936 and continue in HOIV)

((End in 1936 and continue to Hearts of Iron 4))
I feel it important to let it be known that I argued stringently against needless intervention on either side of the crisis, but was shouted down. I say this only to ensure the the entire crisis team is not judged for the ultimate result.

((Okay, so since it's unanimous at this point, we'll end in 1936 and proceed to HOI IV as soon as mods are available for it. I didn't expect such an overwhelming response so quickly! :)

I now return you to your regularly scheduled iAAR. Let's hear some legislation proposals! BTW, we can reform again, should we choose to.))

I think we should look into providing an unemployment subsidy, if the current economic situation allows it.

Herr Franz Ferdinand ''Beinbrecher'' Schüttler, Assemblyman for Nürnberg,Commander of the Corps of the Gendermerie

(( Well, missed the vote. But it went the way I wanted. For the record, I do intend to develop a Vic2 to HoI4 converter, and even if its not feature complete by the time the AAR is ready to convert, it should help immensely with the process. ))

im worried about the large number of militant socialist units in the country, at the moment we are in a good position to defend ourselves if they revolt but should war break out im not sure we could defend against a revolt and keep on fighting a war at the same time.

Relax, they currently can call only 72,000 scattered, unorganized, and green men. A strong counter by a local Gendarmerie force would be enough to break any force they muster.

I propose the following legislation to rationalize our "crisis" system:

Crisis Team Amendment

I. The Republic of Germany cannot act upon the Crisis Team's recommendations until the Chancellor approves them.
II. If the Chancellor does not approve of the Crisis Team's recommendations then the Crisis Team must devise a new strategy until one is approved.

I propose the following legislation to rationalize our "crisis" system:

The Honourable Chancellor and indeed those who created such a committee seem to forget that such a committee does not and should not answer to the executive, most certainly not one that is indirectly elected, but to Parliament, which, as it happens, has a National Assembly ready and able to act on the advice of the Crisis Committee regarding Foreign Affairs. This act seems to me and indeed many of my colleagues as a blatant attempt of an indirectly elected official to usurp power from the National Assembly, which I do motion, and I will undoubtedly be joined by both houses, should not stand.

Does the Honourable Minister of the Interior not agree that rather than calming members in this house on the matter of damage that militant socialist can do upon our nation and informing them that the Gendarmerie can "break" them, which I must confess I do find quite poor choice of words, he and his colleagues should look to prevent open combat with incurgents and truly secure peace in the German Republic. If the Government cannot guarantee the safety of its own citizens and must retreat to arguments that the damage done would be minimal on the scale of the entire nation and that those insurgents can be cruely and inhumanely defeated, I must say I have no confidence in both the Minister and this Government.

I must agree with Mr. Franz von Bavel-Timmermans in that the minister of the interior words worry the members of the government instead of calming them

I was merely responding to Mr. Smith's concern that we would leave ourselves open to insurgencies by going to war. Conflict is, of course, a last resort, and Mr. Smith had referred to a situation where the last resort would have to be used. He worried of a revolt in particular, and I responded by what I thought would happen if a revolt in particular occurred. I doubt that the Militant Socialists would rise up against the government in the current climate, and that they likely wouldn't have risen up even in case of war.

~Johannes Carile, Minister of the Interior

As no one has done so as yet, I hereby move to increase the level of Unemployment Insurance. When this becomes law, it will have the happy dual effect of easing the burden of unemployment on the least well off as well as dampening the ardor of those who would seek to overthrow the government by an uprising.

Gutfreund

If the government is concerned about the tens of thousands of Socialist political activists in this country, maybe they should start by examining their concerns, rather than dismissing them out-of-hand as "insurgents" to be put down by the Gendarmerie?

After all, I thought the government was answerable to the people, not the other way around.

EDIT: Ah, but I see Herr Gutfreund has already preempted me. I applaud his proposed increase of unemployment subsidies - I'd have preferred an even higher amount, but this is a very good start.
