Here's an announcement that my long-running AAR Blut und Schlacht (Blood and Battle): A Learner’s Saga that started back on 24 December 2017 has just been completed. The game start date was 867 AD and it covered the founding of the Rurikid dynasty to its maturity ruling a Norse Viking Russian empire to the game year 1041 AD.

The Rurikid story (using the same game) will continue from that point, but in a new stand-alone AAR. The aim will be to have a more strategic sweep, in shorter and less complex chapters and moving away from the very detailed gameplay question and answer format Blood and Battle grew up with. Times have changed in the forum and the game has now outgrown the format, now that the Empire has become so large and complex.

And we now have CK3, while the AAR has become pretty large, which may be a turn-off for first time readers. It will remain as the accessible back-story to the new AAR for those who have followed it before or who might read the new work and have their interest sparked in how it got to where it did. I will announce the new AAR here when it is ready to go, hopefully in a few weeks.
