Chapter I

This is the beginning of an operation by the Sartosan pirates that hasn't happened in decades. Pirate ships from all over the island unite in the port of Sartosa, while all kinds of supplies are loaded onto 40 ships, the captains gather in Catello Degli Pirati. They are Captains Finch Guideschi, Camilla Draven and Kerwin di Biandrate. At the meeting, they learn about Berto's plan for the coming years, the total conquest of the Nacary Islands, Siren Islands and Santa Clair.

With the objective in mind, Berto leaves first for Zera, while the other captains follow him across the sea. About 5,000 pirates of all kinds surround Zera, the city ruled by Count Gustavo Ventimiglia. After a few months of besieging Zera, while another part of the pirate force takes the surrounding islands, finally Zera falls, the first settlement of the Siren Islands are now under control of the pirates.

The following year, after new pirates were recruited in Sartosa, Berto again along with other captains went to surround Delamata, and take it from the hands of the Contessa Phaedra Del Boschi, in the Siren Islands. Again, the expected happens, thousands of pirates overcome the island's defenses, terror takes hold of Delamata, but when all the confusion ends, the city becomes yet another pirate stronghold, with the Contessa Phaedra fleeing with her family to the court of the Count Oswald of Achilles.

Upon returning to Sartosa with all the spoils of war, with several enriched pirates, with some soon after arriving on the island retiring and starting to build their own mansions. Berto on the other hand, already being the richest pirate in Sartosa, continues with his plan in mind, and for a moment he forgets about them, while he begins an affair with a recently recruited pirate named Rosa, who becomes part of his crew. The two left a few months later to take Porto Nord, on Isole Sirene, governed by Conte Azeglio di Chiaramonte.

20230328212544_1.jpg

Almost half of Berto's personal mission is completed almost 2 years later. But a problem appears, pirates already dominate some islands in the region, Captain Marco from Isla d’Azure and his sister, the famous Captain Fortunata Calafina de Autaria, who manages to put in check an attack by the pirates of Príncipe Berto. A few days later, with new meetings with the rest of the captains of Sartosa, a decision was made, not to anger the pirates who already dominated some islands, but to leave for the next islands, governed by more feudal lords, already in the geographic region of Estalia.

Six years after the beginning of the pirate invasions, finally all the feudal lords are expelled from their islands, the pirates start to control the Nacary Islands after the fall of Santa Clair, not even the famous Duke Tello Gómez could defend it against 6,000 pirates and 100 ships surrounding the island.

In the path of the Pirate Prince Berto are only the fierce pirate Captain Fortunata, because her brother died a few months after the fall of Santa Clair, in which Berto on his return to Sartosa decides to take Isla d'Azure that was in anarchy with the local pirates without a leader.

Chapter II

Nine years after the start of the Sartosa pirate invasions, the time has finally come to fight Captain Fortunata over control of the last Siren Islands that are not under the control of Pirate Prince Berto. 180 ships and 6000 pirates take part in the invasion. Fortunata's pirates try to defend their islands, but the overwhelming strength of Berto's forces destroys them in every encounter, while the pirate ships quickly seize the islands' ports. The war continues for another year, after all Fortunata's pirates are eradicated from the interior of the islands, hiding in caves and dense forests.
1680398389073.png

After the conquest, Berto goes to Isla Colina where a rebellion was taking place, are quickly defeated, further increasing the control of Sartosa pirates on the island. In Enriquillola, Berto's eldest son, also named Berto, is made Pirate Lord of Nacary Isles at age 20, an inexperienced pirate, only time will tell if he will be respected by his father's pirates.

1680398651289.png

Pirate Lord Berto II of Nacary Isles

A few years later, a minimally decent government, speaking of pirates... is organized in the Siren Islands, and one more of Berto's sons is made Pirate Lord of the islands, Donato, only 16 years old, still has a lot to prove, the boy suffers from a rare condition where one of his eyes has turned completely white, giving him the ability to have a gaze considered hypnotic by many.

1680400342349.png

Pirate Lord Donato of Siren Isles

Not even two years pass, and Sartosa's pirates get bored again, even free to sail the seas and look for riches, the pirates prefer the invasions organized by the Pirate Prince Berto, in which the spoils are bigger and easier to get . Therefore, the Pirate Prince declares an invasion of the Isles of Tripolana ruled by the Corsair Lady Randja, off the coast of Araby, southwest of Sartosa.
1680399533105.png

After years in Corsair Strand, Berto commanding thousands of pirates tries to dominate the last island in the region, the Island of Fyrus, of the small Baron Ancel d'Aubigny, this island had been conquered by the bretons in the Great Crusades, 500 years before. Berto surprised by the ferocity of the Breton knights, who manage to organize themselves with almost 5,000 soldiers in Fyrus, the Knights of Our Lady of Battle sail to Fyrus to help Ancel repel Berto's pirates. The Pirate Prince decides not to attack the island and return to Sartosa, realizing that it would be too difficult, costly or even impossible to dominate the Isle of Fyrus at the moment, he meets his first defeat, even without a single battle.

1680399697922.jpeg

After suffering this defeat, in order not to destabilize his authority in Sartosa, Berto decides to organize thousands of pirates under him again, and leaves for the west, plundering coastal cities in Estalia. Berto and his ships arrive by surprise at the port of the capital of Cantonia, and quickly take the port, and with little difficulty take the gates of the city walls, the population suffers from the terrors that the pirates impose on every commercial establishment or the people themselves who are taken by surprise. Deeper in the city, the castle is invaded, King Fernando is captured after all members of his personal guard die against the pirate horde that entered the royal residence; he and many other local people are taken to the pirate ships, and made for Sartosa, where they will be sold into slavery, or waited to be sacrificed to Stromfels.

1680399803810.jpeg

After the terror caused in Cordobra, the pirates continued towards the west, then plundered Villana, Jávea, Califerne and ended up in Olissipo, where Queen Melisenda of Obregon was captured. At this point almost half of the pirates had been killed in the looting, so, Berto decides to return to Sartosa.

The anarchy to the east is getting worse, the Principality of Myrmidens is being torn apart by orc invasions on all sides. While Norscans terrorize the peoples of the border, cities fall, while the worshipers of chaos destroy and loot what they can, while taking advantage before having to face the hordes of orcs increasingly dominant in the region.

1680399924181.jpeg

The Pirate Prince profits from the chaos, so much looting is done, mainly in the ancient great cities of Myrmidens and Khypris. Berto's ultimate goal is to try to enter Barak Varr with his pirates, but his attempt ends horribly. Barak Varr's dwarves repel pirate attacks, 1,685 die on the beaches, while only 137 dwarves die at the hands of pirates. The Pirate Prince decides to retreat and return to Sartosa, this defeat would be enough for the corsairs. Still, a large amount of looted wealth is brought to Sartosa, enough wealth to fully fill half of the pirate ships under Pirate Prince Berto's command.

Plunder! Pirates should not try to take forts unless they are Henry Morgan. The map looks vaguely like the Med. Thanks
It's the duality of CK2, having something related to pirates and at the same time having to expand wide. Poor pirates, have to learn arithmetic to rule lands.

Chapter III

In 2035, the Pirate Lord Donato would mysteriously die at the age of 31, his brother, the Pirate Lord of the Nacary Islands would inherit his lands, while most of the captains who served Donato peacefully accept serving the Pirate Lord Berto II, as it is in the Siren Islands. where are their ventures, riches, families and hidden treasures...
1680698818227.png

The Miragliano region in northern Tilea is in a very weakened state, this is a perfect opportunity for any pirate. Pirate Prince Berto receives news of constant looting in this region by other pirates, but he decides to do it differently, he decides to conquer the lands he can and control the settlements instead of just looting them. The pirates under his command were initially against this, but upon hearing that they could divide the lands between them, they quickly agreed to the Pirate Prince's plan.

Miragliano falls quickly, it was already exhausted from constant wars in the region, now in all the alleys the pirates do what they want, while the local population either flees inland or hides as much as they can. Soon after, Berto starts another invasion, this time in Estalia, against the Kingdom of Cantonia, which was recently in a state of war against the High Tribune of Magritta.

1680699054110.png

While the Pirate Prince starts to control Cordobra, his son conquers Aquilas, who even Lorenzo Calafina becomes the Captain of the crew that controls the region, he is the son of the famous Captain Fortunata Calafina who died recently at the age of 48, the pirate who had lost his lands in the Siren Isles to Pirate Prince Berto many years ago.

In Pirate's Current, Berto's fleet encounters Prince Fabio II's fleet of Miragliano, commanded personally by the Prince. Berto braces for impact as Prince Fabio II of Miragliano's flagship slammed into the hull of Berto's flagship, hearing screams as the force threw the pirates against the rails. Seeing his chains already flying towards the deck, Berto draws his weapon and shouts for his men to do the same, ready to repel the unwanted guests. Blood spatters the deck and sails as they climb aboard, straight into the pirate sabers.

Prince Fabio II of Miragliano participates in the battle at sea, and recognizes the defeat that was in front of him, and because of his arrogance, when trying to return to his ship, he accidentally falls into the sea and drowns between the wreckage of the two ships, while the rest of his fleet decides to retreat when they can see over 90 pirate ships on the horizon.

1680699289016.png

After the battle at sea, the pirate fleet proceeds to Ebino, which is taken over the next few months by 11,000 pirates, Sea Captain Luca Zucaro is made Pirate Lord of Miragliano after the taking of Ebino.

At the age of 59, Pirate Prince Berto I dies naturally, the most famous and feared pirate of his generation throughout the Old World and Araby coast. His son, Berto II becomes, by sheer authority, the Pirate Prince of Sartosa at the age of 41, already well known as a Captain of the Sea, in addition to being a well-recognized drunk, in which he and his crew usually face all the storms they encounter while they get drunk and sing the most varied songs while trying not to die; obviously many fail in this curious attitude, perhaps Stromfels really appreciates this practice of Berto II.

1680701329575.png

Pirate Prince Berto II

To show his authority over the other Pirate Lords of Sartosa, Berto II decides to declare an invasion of Tobaro, personally he leads an armada of 120 ships and 8,000 pirates in the onslaught, which proves to be a success after the capture of Tobaro, and the expulsion of the noble class of this important city.
20230331131236_1.jpg

Unlike his father, the Pirate Prince Berto II followed a policy of pirate control, instead of just plundering the coast of settlements across the sea between the Old World and Araby, he decided to organize several conquests of the coast of the most varied states and places, obviously Sartosa's wealth would decrease, but the wealth of the "pirate colonies" outside of them increased compared to his father's years, who knew that pirates are more efficient looting than collecting taxes?!

By 2047, pirates under the command of Prince Pirate Berto II conquer Lambruso, a town following the river that flows into Ebino. The capital of the Kingdom of Cantonia, Cordobra and the region of Fierra fall to the pirates, Queen Alameda sees her kingdom disintegrate and flees to the Duchy of Las Marcas in northern Estalia. On the coast of Black Gulf, pirates for the first time in years fight Orcs, conquering Tirzor and Chayuk, thousands of corsairs, the personal force of Berto II, it takes years to extinguish all the Orcs in the region so as not to cause problems for the settlers on the coast.

In the distant land of Kislev, hordes of Night Goblins conquer several cities and fortifications, and after years of war against the High Kingdom of Kislev, Rodislav no longer had authority outside the walls of Kislev that would be sacked several times by the Nights Goblins, the great kingdom has finally fallen to one of the threats to the world of men.

Chapter IV

From their pirate colonies on the coast of Strygos, the corsairs invade the lands of Warlord Vurrag 'Poison-Tooth' in order to continue exterminating the Orcs in the region. They are easy targets, the settlements of the Orcs, since Vurrag's army was in the mountains fighting King Haki of Ekrund. In a few months, the region of Hettasha, Rothira, Burushur and Boetus of the Orcs falls for the pirates.

1681315397891.jpeg

North of the pirate colonies on the coast of Strygos, an Orc horde made up of 6,200 enemies appears, meanwhile Berto II was taking over Sapphiro Island on the other side of the Black Gulf. The Pirate Prince decides to send 10,000 pirates to Rhothira to wait for allied reinforcements or get a defensive vantage point, and the second scenario happens, as the Orcs continue south, eventually clashing with the pirates. In the ensuing battle, the Orc horde is defeated, around 1,500 of them are killed, while only 200 corsairs are lost.

Berto starts to retake the lost settlements, and pursues the Orc horde to the mountains of his territory, where they are defeated again, but due to the lack of supply in such an inhospitable region, more than 3,000 corsairs are lost, among them allies, forcing Berto to retreat to the Mykal colony. It took the extermination of over 3,000 Orcs to successfully stop the invading hordes from the north.

1681315490756.jpeg

A few months pass, and the Pirate Prince thinks that the colonies are safe enough, and leaves with his fleet and corsairs to the north, with the intention of taking new cities under the control of his pirate fleet, even more so after the news that several chaos cultists would be waiting for them, Stromfels would appreciate every follower of the Dark Gods killed by pirate hands.

1681315971412.jpeg

1681315976093.png

1681315930440.jpeg

It is in Hinrikness, that the corsairs commanded by Berto II defeat an army of cultists, putting to run, even the trump of Jergin Gyla 'the Despoiler', a demon of Tzeentch. The cult of this Dark God is most prominent in this region.

1681315941759.jpeg

The pirate forces even take Khypris with the help of 10,000 pirates from all over the territory controlled from Sartosa. One thing still worries the Pirate Prince, the location of Count Vorag 'Bloodytooth', a terrible deformed vampire, who rules his lands north of Khypris, commanding to date 15,000 soldiers, from undead to other vampires.

Chapter V

In Magritta, a giant crisis ravages the city that is in a state of war against Duke Abel III of Portúa, Princess Consolata of Astarios and King Matias of Tigarre. The leader of the Communard Cities is also in a horrible state, the Winds of Chaos has settled around him, it has made him grow considerably, far beyond an ordinary human, a pout has formed on his face, while some still say that his intelligence was affected, leading to theories that his brain has shrunk to a quarter of normal size and weight, this condition has been seen several times in other cases.

20230401001046_1.jpg

Pirate Prince Berto II 'the Bloodhound', at the age of 66, decides to take advantage of the crisis in Magritta, in order to win something for the pirates of Sartosa. A fleet of nearly 300 pirate ships make their way to the Bay of Stillness, and from there 14,000 pirates disembark and besiege the city of Magritta. The city is eventually taken, because of only a small garrison guarding its walls. Berto II makes his orders are strictly followed to plunder only the minimum, his corsairs almost completely destroy the Great Academy of Magritta, an infrastructure that the Pirate Prince intends to take as much advantage as possible.

20230401001911_1.jpg

The Tipid Horde, in the region of Aegos, which is the territory of Myrmidens controlled by the pirates of Sartosa, are defeated by the Vardanosid Horde, of the Warboss Gitsnika. This worries the Pirate Prince who decides to summon the Pirate Lords from all over the pirate territory to Sartosa and start an extermination invasion of the lands of this new horde in the region. Atreus is taken from the hands of the Orcs, who flees to the south or to the mountains in the west.

At the age of 75, Berto II finally decides to rest, now that he accepts that his legacy has reached the heights of the pirate legend that was his father, Pirate Prince Berto. Most decisions in pirate territory are already being decided by the Pirate Lord Leonello, eldest son of Berto II, who at the age of 36 already holds the position of Master of Sartosa, as well as Regent for his father. Berto II still has two more sons, Captain Berto of Lament and Captain Baldassare of Varenka. As expected, Leonello becomes the new Pirate Prince of Sartosa at age 42, following the death of Berto II 'the Bloodhound' at age 80.

Chapter VI

The new Pirate Prince decides to initiate a new strategy for expanding pirate control across the seas. Unlike his father and grandfather, he now launches raids to actually take as much of the Tilea Coast as he can to link the pirate territories within walking distance of each other.

1683312997564.jpeg

The first city in Tilea to fall to Leonello's pirates, it is the capital of the Principality of Luccini, after 10,000 pirates destroyed King Estevan's army on the outskirts of its capital. The ever-growing army of pirates continues north, and takes Portonaggiore from the hands of Doge Chiaffredo II of Verezzo, and soon after the more and more excited privateers, while pirates from all seas on this side of the world join the army of the Pirate Prince composed of over 15,000 pirates before the conquest of Remas.

20230401183716_1.jpg

This confrontation against the Republic of Remas would culminate in the Battle of Guglielma, about 54,000 soldiers would enter the confrontation, on the one hand the most numerous army of pirates and on the other of Remas soldiers plus hired mercenaries. The victory of the pirates would come at a great cost, about 9,450 pirates would be killed, while 11,000 soldiers of Remas' army would be lost. It was in this battle that Grand Master Pablo of the Order of Righteous Spear would be killed, he was known to be possessed in addition to having mutations in his body, the most prominent being a reptilian tail with a thorny ball at the end. On the side of the corsairs, the governor of the city of Quarteras, called Beltrano, would defeat in personal combat the adventurer Abbondio and the Captain of the Sea of Remas called Gianleone, unfortunately Beltrano at the end of the battle would be defeated and killed by Enrique, a member of the Order of Fury.

20230401185431_1.jpg

With the corsairs led by Vincenzo de Califerne, they would invade the lands of the Prince of Trantio. With the campaign a success, Vincenzo's corsairs are sent to the Marca de Monte Castello, on the borders of Tilea, which advance on the lands of Marquise Tullia Calisti.

1683313614733.png

Vincenzo de Califerne

A few years later, the pirate expansion on the coast of Strygos continues, several colonies are founded, the annihilation of the orcs would be a very expensive business, while farther west. Further west, the High Tribune Amadís of Communard Cities openly worships the gods of chaos, such a thing is not well regarded by the followers of Stromfels. The Pirate Prince immediately decides to take over Amadís' lands in the Cantonia region. Quickly the city of Almagora falls, with Almadís being arrested. Leonello does not decide to let him go in exchange for taking control of the city for himself, instead he decides to execute Amadís immediately. The peace agreement is later arranged after the election of Yago of Alatriste to the leadership of the Communard Cities.

A few years later, the biggest declaration in Sartosa history takes place, the declaration of a Pirate King. Leonello Dell'Oro Cassa is elected the first Pirate King of Sartosa, with the support of a majority of the Captains of Sartosa, its colonies and outlying territories. To repay the loyalty of his closest captains, the now Pirate King decides to declare Manuele di Upper Tobaro as Pirate Prince of Magnate, he would now control all pirate colonies on Strygos.

On the territory of the former Principality of Myrmidens, Pirate Lord Rodolfo Ambrogetti is declared Pirate Prince of the entire region of Aegos. Other Captains of Pirate Lords would later be declared Pirate Princes, such as Ottavio Fabrizi in Cantonia, Simone Tarquini in Calafina, and lastly, Fosco Tocco in Adriata.

Chapter VII

The Pirate King decides to show the world the military power of Sartosa, by declaring an invasion of the Sultanate of Abergel, with the intention of conquering Istrabul, one of the most wonderful cities of mankind. A city planned by the finest architects in combination with powerful wizards. Literally known as the City of Man's Desire.

The massive wave of corsairs that would appear off the coast of Araby was the largest pirate invasion of the continent ever seen. The Sultan could do nothing, and after 1 year, with most of his family imprisoned by the Pirate King corsairs, he decides to officially hand over control of Istrabul to Leonello.

20230403160527_1.jpg

Unfortunately the Pirate King would not get to set foot in Istrabul as his territory, he would die a few days later at the age of 62 in Sartosa, after being sick for a few days. His brother Berto would be declared the Pirate King in dominated Istrabul, he would receive a peace agreement with the Sultan. Berto even at the age of 43 was already known in Sartosa, he was already an experienced ruler, on behalf of his brother, he who ruled Remas and Portonaggiore. His exploits at sea were minor, but having already lost his hand in naval combat, Berto would be known as the first Pirate King who was not a pirate per se.

20230403171314_1.png

Pirate King Berto Dell'Oro Cassa

The two brothers on the other hand, had a common goal, exterminate the skavens between Estalia and Tilea that would constantly give trouble to the pirate control in the north. But first, Berto decides to prove himself as a pirate, so he summons his ships and corsairs, which number 9,000 to leave for Araby, to plunder as much as possible of the coast of this continent that still has little influence from the pirates of Sartosa.

The first stop of the corsair fleet is the Duchy of Sami, a series of islands controlled by Corsair Lord Marjanu Sami, famous pirate off the Araby coast, but his notoriety can't help him, Sartosa's 9,000 pirates plunder utterly the islands in the region.

Heading south, the 100 pirate ships encounter an armada belonging to Rienfannal Arefor, an elf from Angerrial in Ulthuan. Berto along with his cousin see it as a perfect time to prove themselves to their pirates, so the two fleets engage in a fierce battle. The elves fight with great efficiency, but the numerous corsairs finally destroy all the ships they manage to pursue, Rienfannal Arefor itself died in combat.

20230403172256_1.jpg

The Emirate of Shawkat suffers from Sartosa's corsairs, who promptly plunder Sud, Songhai and Odan. Passing through the Gold Coast, Berto's armada arrives at the Sea of Tiranq and faces the decay of Al-Anaim, these lands are dominated by Rais Siavax 'the Frog' of Abulafia, the cult of Nurgle is openly accepted. It is such a decadence with disease and destruction everywhere, that the pirates who came to report the situation are killed at the command of Berto, who did not want to threaten his crew with possible diseases that they could be carrying.
