That may be impossible now as we have socialists in the government. And let the Imperialist Socialists ((USSR)) took all of eastern and central Europe thanks to the appeasment policies of the soviet sympathizing socialists. And top that with the Socialist Empire ((USSR)) taking over our former colonies, and that they got the bomb now! Now the operation is impossible, we should have stroken when we had the chance! And like their National Socialist brethren they have built their economy upon debt and credits - and refuse to pay them back.
I am afraid we have entered a Cold War. But it will not take long before The Socialist Empire break down due to terrible social, economical and political policies. But who knows, maybe they will be strengthened soon as Great Britain become socialist?

Totalitarianism or totalitarian state is a term used by some political scientists to describe a political system in which the state holds total authority over the society and seeks to control all aspects of public and private life wherever possible.
By narrowing that down it include total control over the economy and morales. In order to control the population one need total control over the economy - as that is the total control of the activities of the population.
That went extremely well for Western Europe in the 50s, 60s and 70s. Funny how Europe had more growth when the welfare state was well established, with the state also owning large parts of the economy. The economy grew, inflation was large but under control (favouring consumption/purchases of houses), and inequalities were lowered, with quality of life being improved all over the board. Clearly, interventionism was awful

Personally, I think we should ban communism. It may restrict freedom, but it restricts freedom to those who wish to subvert it.
