If you are attacking lands that have same culture and religion as you should get a bonus to siege and supply to represent the fact that the local populace is probably on your side. This only applies if the defender is of a different culture and religion. This would make reconquests of lost territory more viable and force players to actually take the time and convert newly acquired territory so they don't lose it quickly.

Very tiny movement speed, attrition, and siege bonus would plenty enough to have a major impact in warfare as cultures taking their culture/religious lands from infidels because you'd be able to dodge their troops more often in those lands and win any siege races (all things equal).

It doesn't have to be too powerful but I totally agree.

It could also be tied into the ruler popularity mechanic since unpopularity is triggered by wrong culture and religion but idk it's troublesome still.

Idk about that but thats only because I have no idea how ruler popularity actually works and how it effects the realm lol.

It's kinda broken rn but it's the thing that generates all those peasant revolts. It's dictated by culture and religion with a system for putting correct religion and culture vassals between you and the peasants to appease them.

I think it's still very buggy though. It just seemed like a part of the game that would work well with this idea if it worked right.
