Ultimate Weltkrieg - http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=w8ye4mYR878

Old Mussolini was hopping around
The Meditteranean like a big playground
when suddenly Churchill burst from the shade
and smacked Mussolini with a spade
Mussolini got pissed and began to attack
but didn't expect to be blocked before Iraq
the Brits proceeded to open up their main tank force
much better than Italian tanks of course,

and they started to take back Eritrea
then they managed to get deep into to Libya
but before they could make it quite to Tripoli
Rommel was sent with a Panzer three
and took a couple of divisions of Italian men
and pushed the British back to Egypt again
but he ran out of tanks and he ran away
because Montgomery came to save the day

this is the Ultimate Weltkrieg
of Ultimate Destiny
good guys, bad guys, and explosions
as far as the eye can see
and only one will win out, I wonder who it will be
this is the Ultimate Weltkrieg
of Ultimate Destiny

Hitler took a bite out of the Balkans when,
The Italians got their asses kicked again
and then Rommel returned with tanks (not from Spain)
and pushed the British back to El Alamein
and Greece was doomed and trying to flee Crete
when Paratroops landed to make the invasion complete
but suddenly Hitler went insane and he said,
That he wanted all the Communists dead,

then he saw America being attacked by Japan
and he declared war on them just to prove that he can
so FDR was pissed and he sided with the Brits
and Hitler didn't care, the Russians were in the pits
then he encircled Kiev and he neared Moscow
while Stalin tried to get his generals to go
on the counteroffensive, and they did, and they won
then they all got hit by a Russian winter

this is the Ultimate Weltkrieg
of Ultimate Destiny
good guys, bad guys, and explosions
as far as the eye can see
and only one will win out, I wonder who it will be
this is the Ultimate Weltkrieg...

Generals cried out, and prepared to fook off
Out from Siberia, had come General Zhukov
who had won the battle
outside Moscow,
And beaten the Japanese, at Khalkin Go,
The Germans fell back, and began to lose,
so they made a fatal mistake, and let Hitler choose,
a plan of attack, he called it Fall Blau,
To get oil for an attack, in '43, on Moscow

then Eisenhower the old and Wavell the bright and
that South African who said people should be white and
George S Patton, who'd begun to fatten and
General Alexander and Mountjoy-Mountbatten
O'Connor, Charles de Gaulle, Lord Beaverbrook, and Gen'ral Marshall
Lord Gort, who was short, and every single Frenchman
Franklin D Roosevelt and Charlie Portal,
Canadians, Australians and Gort's wife Myrtle
all came out of nowhere lightning fast
and they kicked old Hitler in his Fascist ass
it was the bloodiest battle that the world ever saw
with civilians looking on total awe

the fight raged on for six damn years
many lives were claimed, but spare your tears
the champion stood, the rest saw their match:
Josef Stalin with bloody mus-tache

this is the Ultimate Weltkrieg
of Ultimate Destiny
good guys, bad guys, and explosions
as far as the eye can see
and only one will survive, I wonder who it will be
this is the Ultimate Weltkrieg...
this is the Ultimate Weltkrieg...
this is the Ultimate Weltkrieg...
of Ultimate Destiny!

Alexus: The Ultimate Weltkreig- I have to admit that as fast as that song was it was suprisingly easy to keep up with the lyrics first time through. You had me bobbing my head and foot tapping along. Quite amusing from start to finish. My only nitpick...and it's small...is that the chorus was pretty much the original lyrics...but it's hard to change them when they already work. Another thing I can appreciate is how you were able to cover the basic scope of the entire war in one song...i.e. the ultimate weltkreig...but, you had a tremendous amount of lyrics to work with. You get a big :D and an IN.

Snake IV: I considered using the original version, but finally I opted for Nevermore's take on the classic. Based on the fact that the soldier singing this song is in the middle of a battle, using the calm and soothing original would require of him a level of detachment from the battlefield that can only be attained in a single and permanent way. Nevermore's version on the other hand fits very well with a brutal and deadly environment.

You are right in that the soldier does not contribute to the battle. He is a mental wreck, sitting in a ditch and no longer in control of himself. The scenes he describes in his song could be from the battle occuring around him, they could be condensed impressions from months of campaigning or they could be pure fiction. The only thing that counts is that the song conveys the impression this one soldier has of war, which has finally driven him insane.

For an actual music video dealing with this subject, see Eyes Of The Insane by Slayer. It's not one of Slayer's best songs but it is their best video yet.

I don't know whether you wanted such a detailed answer but you got it anyway. ;)

grayghost: "Luftwaffe" is really good. It was a funny coincidence that before reading it the first time I had listened to Blind Guardian's version of "Spread Your Wings" by Queen. It was very fitting. It took me some time to actually listen to the song. Not because I didn't find the link but because of lack of time.

Also thank you for inspiring me to finally submit something new. We can't have you take over this AAR, can we? ;)

P.S.: I see that you've supplied only serious material until now. Would you consider submitting something comical next time?

Alexus: Since I'm no judge I've refrained from commenting on submissions until now but I would like to tell you that "The Ultimate Weltkrieg" is a small masterpiece insofar as I actually managed to follow the song in spite of it's tempo. You left just enough words from the original so that the moment before I thought I had lost the flow, a word in your lyrics matched the original one. It was great and I enjoyed it throroughly. And the original isn't bad either.

Thanks. Yeah, I don't want it to seem that way (the taking over), it's just so damn fun. And, actually, I do have a comedic song in mind...maybe next week.;)

This submission is no contribution.

The lyrics are sung to Infected by Bad Religion. They are one of my favorite bands and incidentally "Infected" was the very first video I saw from them.

For rhyming purposes, in this song "annexed" is pronounced "annex-ed".

Now here we come,
You've lost it all,
Got no more armys,
Got no more VPs,
Your captial's gone,
So we want just one
Chance to talk 'bout peace with you.

Hear our proposal,
It's irresistible.

You sure won't like it,
But you'll accept it
In the end, anyway!

You and us,
Are now united,
You're subjected,
You're annexed,
You are part of
Our glorious nation.
All your base are
belong to us!

No worries now,
'bout how to govern,
Got no more sliders
You'll need to adjust,
Need no ministers,
And no more build queues,
We'll take care of everything for you.

Hear our proposal,
It's irresistible.

You sure won't like it,
But you'll accept it
In the end, anyway!

You and us,
Are now united,
You're subjected,
You're annexed,
You are part of
Our glorious nation.
All your base are
belong to us!

But the inter-
national community,
said they won't,
tollerate this.
But we just don't care,
And why should we care?
Because all we want
Is glorious World Conquest!

Yeah yeah yeah,
Yeah yeah yeah,
Yeah yeah yeah,
Yeah yeah yeah,
YEAH! YEAH! YEAH!

You and us,
Are now united,
We want your tech-teams (You're subjected)
And your IC (You're annexed)
All your resources (You are part of)
but no revoltrisk (Our glorious nation)

You and us,
We're one great nation (Are now united)
And you have ceased to (You're subjected)
Be independent (You're annexed)
And if you're human (You are part of)
This means "Game Over" (Our glorious nation)

You and us,
Will stick together (Are now united)
For we will never (You're subjected)
Make you a puppet (You're annexed)
So just relax now (You are part of)
Let us take over (Our glorious nation)
All your base are
belong to us!

Sokraates: Annex-ed-That was fricken great. So easy to follow first time through and covers the game mechanics of annexation so perfectly. Outstanding. Awesome beat to start the song, I was rockin before the lyrics even started. Non-competitive two thumbs up. and

I think the last one was better, but as I have now spent a good amount of time on this one too, Im posting it anyways. :p

(Here's my go... I don't have HoI II, but I thought this up and decided to go for it... It might not match exactly, though...)

Josef Stalin brushed his mustache, admiring himself in the mirror. Slowly, he turned, and, with a grin at one of his aides, said, "Do you know what?"

"No, what, Your Comradeship?" the aide replied, knowing perfectly well what was coming.

"I," Stalin declared, "amaze myself. And do you know why?" The aide shook his head. "Then allow me to enlighten you."

The General-Secretary's Song

I am the very model of a modern totalitarian,
I like to kill my subjects and I'm not a vegetarian,
I know the czars of Russia and the caudillos of South America,
I also know that guy who rules that country in Iberia!
I'm very well acquainted, too, with matters about genocide,
I understand the finer points of murder and infanticide,
About th'atomic theorem I am teeming with interest, you see,
Ummmm... Ah, yes! With many cheerful facts about Hiroshima and Nag'saki!

I'm very skilled at butchering large portions of the populous,
Pertickly if they hail from the Ukraine and the Caucusus,
In short, on matters dealing with death to the proletarian,
I am the very model of a modern totalitarian!

I know all about the materialism dialectical,
But I'm afraid I've yet to introduce the light electrical!
I've slapped my face upon all of the posters propaganda,
And I've rewritten everything and have impressed myself upon the law!
I've saluted all my armies as they've marched by me in a big parade,
And none has ever risen up because, well, they're just too afraid!
I've instituted purges, and have rid myself of traitors, see;
And now I shall indoctrinate you with this little litany!

I've thought up my own ideology, based upon my own supremacy,
And now I'll invade Berlin with my unstoppable Red Army!
In short, on matters dealing with death to the proletarian,
I am the very model of a modern totalitarian!

Yet if I knew more about the actiual running of a country,
And less about making myself look good upon a balc'ny,
If I would work with the Five-Year Plans of Trotsky,
Rather than mess them up and make them act all wonky,
If I could actually act nice and get the scientists to work f'me,
I might actually get the Bomb and make the world a Red Commun'ty!
If I could do all these things with perfect impeccability,
You'd say I was the finest humanitarian to ever rule a country!

But I am sadly lacking these human features to my facade,
So I'll just go smoke a Camel and make the Germans look at Dachau!
And so, only in matters dealing with death to the proletarian,
I am the very model of a modern totalitarian!

I'm so far behind I need to begin catching up, devastating head-ache or not. I will keep it very, very brief as I don't have energy to stay up for long periods of time.

Charle 88 Rock the Reichstag

Lyrics fit the tune. Lyrics tell a story and give you a few grins. What more can you ask?

In!

I'll see if I can get another "analysis" up in few hours.

General Jac: Propoganda is for War - I don't know where you come up with your source material, but you certainly don't pull from mainstream. I first watched the video because I wanted to get an idea what was going on here with all the characters you had, and I am glad I did, because it certainly added to my enjoyment when I played it again while reading your lyrics. Very, very funny, and in it's comedic way, very apropo. Though you may like your first offering better, I actually enjoyed this one more. I think because I found it more humorous and I liked the subject matter better and the way it was portrayed. Great job.

Lord Cowles: The General-Secratary's Song - This was easy as far as the tune was concerned since it is pretty well known and I was laughing from line 2. As I got farther into the song there were a couple of mouthfulls that were hard to fit in to the tune, but overall pretty well done. Does a good job of covering Stalin's take on Communism and his views on the world in a comdic manner. IN.

Okay, Sokraates was asking if I could do something a little more lite hearted, so I put all my efforts into it and came up with this.

I claim no historical accuracy in this piece whatsoever.

So please enjoy to the tune of "Stacy's Mom" by Fountains of Wayne:

Eva Braun got me thinking lebensraum
Eva Braun got me thinking lebensraum
Eva Braun got me thinking lebensraum
Eva Braun got me thinking lebensraum

Eva could you come over and sit on my lap
(sit on my lap)
If you do, I will show you my map
(show you my map)
If you look real close, see this land over here
(land over here)
I will take it in a couple of years
(couple of years)

And I’m not the two bit despot that I used to be
I got elected Chancelor and I rule the whole country

Eva Braun got me thinking lebensraum
I’ve made my plans
And I’ve waited so long

Eva can’t you see
That I’ll take the world for thee

You know it can’t be wrong
She’s got me thinking lebensraum

Eva Braun got me thinking lebensraum
Eva Braun got me thinking lebensraum

Eva do you remember when I took Poland
(took Poland)
All my generals thought that I had gone mad
( had gone mad)
Then Eva looked down and she started to stare
(started to stare)
She said “Adolf, you missed this land over there”
(land over there)

Her finger pointed down at Yugoslavia
I was gonna invade Russia now I’ll have to put it off

Eva Braun got me thinking lebensraum
I’ve made my plans
And I’ve waited so long

Eva can’t you see
That I’ll be done by ‘43

You know it can’t be wrong
She’s got me thinking lebensraum

Eva Braun got me thinking lebensraum
(thinking lebensraum)

I’ve made my plans
And I’ve waited so long
(I’ve waited and waited)

Eva can’t you see
That I’ll take the world for thee

You know it can’t be wrong
She’s got me thinking

(Eva Braun Ahhhhh)
She’s got me thinking

(Eva Braun Ahhhhh)
Wait a minute
Eva cant you see
That the world will bow to me

You know it can’t be wrong
She’s got me thinking lebensraum

I am going to have to give you extra points for having the sack to not only put together a video (which was great) but to also sing your own lyrics.

Be glad Edmund is not around to give you style points for your singing. :D

And read your ATV. There will be no hangings here. ;)

I aim on getting around and judge during the weekend. Right now I'm busy, and will be the rest of the week.

My sickness is finally fading so as a celebration I decided I would give something simple for this thread, before I resume my judging. (God, stop posting all those songs, I'll never catch up! )

May I present you Leningrad

(this is actually third time I'm relyricing this song. It just rocks so much it's a travesty not to use it)

I remember one of the other times you used this song...funny then, funny now. But you do seem to be in love with Trio. :D

Ahh, how wrong I was yesterday thinking the days of agony are over... I am really starting to get pissed off, constant headache for a week is really frustrating. Medicines help only for short periods of time.

General Jac: Nazihero

I found this really funny. Maybe a bit over-the-top. It is very easily followable also. It was good. In.

Legolas: That Won't Be

Lyrics were amusing but there were some hiccups with the tune. It is an easy tune everybody knows but still I was somehow able to get lost at times.

Since we cannot let absolutely everybody in, I sadly have to drop you. Good effort but a little more fine-tuning with the tune would have worked wonders.

Alexus: Ultimate Weltkrieg

If I could name you the winner of this thing already, I would. Heck, I would name you the Emperor of Music. That was simply one of the greatest things I have ever seen on these forums. I am completely wordless. Top notch history knowledge combined with amazing sense of humour and flawless rhyming skills. And you even sing it yourself! (with not half-bad voice, I might add)

You are more than IN!
