Arg. Don't do that! People should be able to contribute without the judges pushing them to do so when they does, don't you think. (which is anotehr thing than saying "I'd have voted yes had it been in")

And in my opinion you shouldn't be able to change the status of an already commented song. That'd make it possible to make lots of non-contributions and then change one when it do well. If everyone disagrees I'll not go against the stream, you can hav eyour own will

That wouldn't mean you cannot contribute Cascadia, but I would say you would have to do so with something else.

Oh, and I will make some comments with a third entry.

Well, if that's the case, then just keep it non-competition as it was originally. Nevermind about it being in said competition - don't want to go against the will of the person who initiated the competition in the first place, do we? I did it more for fun than anything, really.

Doesn't mean I won't contribute something else just for fun (not likely for competition) later, but that's that. Not intending to come off as sour grapes, I'm just not one for competition much - my stuff tends to be better when I'm not worrying about winning a competition of some sort.

Cascadia, you should definitely make another one for the contest. Remember, this is all good fun, no need to stress about wrether it's "good enough" or not. Besides, the previous one was so brilliant it would be a travesty you'r not participating.

No note of it not being in, so unless Cascadia changed his mind before some comments comes around it is. I will myself listen to it, and the other new contribution that looks exciting with an iron cross and all , tomorrow, when I'm not tierd. Easier to appretiate somethign then.

Cascadia, yet another masterpiece. It's lyrics might not sync as brilliantly as in the previous one but still the tune fits the lyrics and it is easy to follow.

Words, words were just awesome. I would have been rolling on the floor laughing had I not been listening to it in school IT-class. Bonus points for making it Finland related.

Fernando Torres. It's rap but I was able to follow the lyrics amazingly well. Well done, I'm not the most skilled rapper out there so what you did is a remarkable feat.

The lyrics in 2 first verses were to me kind of erratic, I didn't exactly follow your trail of thought. There's Hitler urging for new world order and a battle of sort I quess. But the towards the end there's more sense in the lyrics and that just tips the balance for your inning.

In! on the grounds of the great harmony between tune and lyrics. (and the fancy logo at the top)



I might go for more in depth analysis as I arrive home. Or not.

I have to admit that due to my low knowledge of english language, i had to keep some of the original lyrics.
The first verse talks about a member of a tank squad.
The second is more about war in general and the last is about Adolf Hitler.
Btw, it's not really good compared to the other contributions, i just made this for fun.

To Cascadia: The Winter War

Cascadia you have done it again. To echo Evil Santa, not quite as good as the first one, but still top notch. I know the original song well so I didn't even have to bring it up, I could just sing it in my head.

Although there were a few minor hiccups with the versus, they were minor and did not detract from the overall fell of the song. Like ES was rolling with laughter. Great Job! IN!

Suddenly, a black figure loomed over him. Did he know this creature? Yes, the soldier thought and grinned. He knew it well.

The NCO slapped the soldier in the face rather violently, but he just sat there, babbling silently, with a delirious grin on his face, his gun in his lap.

The NCO shook his head and picked up the gun. After a short pause, he shouldered the soldier and looked around. He needed to get him to somewhere safe. But where should he go? He needed to think but after a few moments he just shook his head in anger, as if trying to throw off something that was clinging to it.

He couldn’t think straight. The noise around him was simply overwhelming. He could swear it was driving him insane.

Okay, this was my take on the subject.

It's serious, dark and different from the rather hilarious pieces we've enjoyed before. Due to this I tried to avoid too explicit wording and opted for a more subtle approach.

The version of Sound Of Silence I chose for obvious reasons: it fits the theme better and (with some imagination) you can hear the weapons I described in the narrative at the beginning. Though you will have to listen very carefully to hear the cymbals in the instrumental part at the beginning.

Nevermore has also changed the original lyrics a bit. You can find them here. The lyrics of the original version can be found here.

Though the picture I used shows US soldiers entering the town (or what remained of it) of Waldenburg, I intentionally left it open, what side the soldier and the NCO in this song belong to.

Concerning the picture: I've found it on Wikipedia.

I have to agree with Evil Santa. You have some rappin skill to bring all of that together, but some of the early lyrics are a bit erratic and hard to follow. I had a bit of trouble trying to figure out what exactly you were talking about until the end when it kinda all pulled together.

Overall, it was well fleshed out with the music and even with some of the erratic lyrics not a bad effort at all. IN.
