I admit. I know Mod1934 back and forth, but reading Emu's AAR is really funny.

(And I saying that even if Im able to quote M34 events from memory ;) )

Ah, when I read your famous threads, I kept hoping you'd try an AAR some day. Consider me in for the ride.

A question about the research in mod34: Do the research bonii stack up in the sense of percentages, as opposed to behaving like percentage points?
They are additive, not multiplicative... and the typical bonus is only a fraction of 1% per tech (0.7% would be about average).

Did you go for the peace way- tech to get even more bonii to research or did you choose the proper way, the way of war. ?
War Way and Militarist Economy.

Both USA and France have been REALLY annoying me with spies, by the way... Roosevelt actually tagged me with one of those Smear Campaigns... +2 Dissent... but I don't think I remembered to get a screen-shot of it. Almost every time I check, there's at least two new spies in my country.

a few more:

1. are you playing the lite scenario or the normal one? (can't bother to check the first page, sorry if its there :eek:o )

2. This is kind of embarrassing, can you get better ships by researching more advanced ship models, in the context of event-buildable Kriegsmarine, I've only gotten something like submarine-I's all the time, and Scharnhorst went to the queue as a class II BC, something from ww1 era.

3. How many divs of, and how advanced panzers are you reasonably expected to have by Poland, my research doesn't somehow allow the more advanced models; I cant find all the prerequisites for the next techs

Same goes for the CAs, TAC and fighter planes, overall the research part of this mod is really fuzzy IMO, and me not being a spanish speaker, doesn't improve the situation a whole lot. Luckily I could still ask in German at the DMP-mod forums about some tips. :(

4. The goddamned spanish civil war event of the agreement of Non-Intervention is popping me up (germany) continuously when I choose the "aid secretly" option. I don't want to get any dove lobby, is this supposed to work this way or is it bugged?

That's about it, the most annoying bit being my un-awareness of all the prerequisites for the next level models of units.

I mean, can you only research the more advanced ships only after breaking up the naval treaty? What about panzers, are they event driven in this sense as well?

I must say, I haven't Lol'd like this since Rustican's famous German RiskAAR. :) keep it up sir! Your portrayal of the league of nations and everyone else for that matter is hilarious and spot on!

When I first sit down to write an update, I know pretty much what I intend to say... but once I actually start typing, the update itself takes control, and I often end up with something rather different from what I had planned. I keep intending to give the other players more lines... but it never seems to happen. Other writers can confirm that this phenomena is really part of the process of writing. I'm sure that once the action shifts towards the Far East or closer to Russia, those guys will get some lines. I'm thinking of having ---------------- say things like -------------------------- and everybody else will -------------------------- or something.

The full 1934 scenario.

My Scharnhorst was also BC-II... it only had 11" guns, after all, so I'm fine with that. It ought to be a lot faster and better armored, but the attack value seems about right. My Subs were levels II and III though, with a couple of lvl IVs near the end of the sequence.

In June of 1939, I have three Panzer Divisions... the first model after the medium prototypes, the one with 47mm guns. I expect to have three more by Danzig... which is actually spot-on, Germany had six Panzer Divisions ready for Poland. I've got no Motorized units at all yet. I wasted all my research and much of my production on those silly Rocket techs and bases. It should be good for a laugh, though...

Have you researched the breakthrough techs like "Special Materials"? You won't get far up the research tree without them.

It keeps firing, yes... WaD... and I also select "Send Aid Secretly" each time. Naturally, this will feature in the AAR... "Hitler's helping them again!"... "No, I'm not!"

Nope... you just need to research the breakthrough techs (Special Materials, Mass Production, etc). They are listed on the tech page, with little white lines leading to the stuff they unlock.

the old guard retirement event seems to be bugged as well,
I never use it... not even with the USSR, who have over 750 leaders in their file.

The Japanese Empire left the league of nation in 1933.
So it would be very hard for them to take part in those conversations. :D

Avenol (League of Nations): Errr... Can I have your attention, everybody?... We’re convening an emergency meeting of the General Assembly, to discuss the Ethiopian crisis...

Mussolini (Italy): Hey! No fair! You said I had until September.

Avenol (League of Nations): We... errr... we hope to reach a settlement before then...

Mussolini (Italy): So do I.

Avenol (League of Nations): The first items on the agenda will be... errr... determining the seating arrangements and the order of voting. Errr... and the catering... is everyone OK with those little sandwiches?

Hitler (Germany): I’m sure we can safely leave the matter in Avenol’s hands, Benito... just get on with what you were doing.

Avenol (League of Nations): Th-thank you, Mr. Hitler... I must say, you’ve been very supportive recently.

Hitler (Germany): I’ve decided that this League of yours might play a very useful role, Avenol.

Avenol (League of Nations): It’s... very kind of you to say so.

Alcala-Zamora (Republican Spain): WTF???... Not again???

SCW.jpg

Lebrun (France): Awww... man... are you sure you don’t want to play, like... Bhutan or somebody, instead?

Avenol (League of Nations): Ohhh... this is terrible! First a war in Africa... and now another one, in Europe.

Roosevelt (USA): *ahem*... Now, them Reee-publicans... have bin tellin’ you... that I’m a woah-mongah!... That I like WOAH!... ... Well I don’t... like... woah!... I HATE woah! We all... hate... woah!... But we GOT woah!

Lebrun (France): WTF, man... are you on drugs?

Roosevelt (USA): Lol, no... I’m on campaign! Election coming up in November! Vote for me! :D

Hitler (Germany): Can Nazis vote?

Roosevelt (USA): Ahhh... you’d be a Lindbergh supporter, then. He’s not running this year.

Stalin (USSR): What about Commies?

Roosevelt (USA): They’d vote for me. :D Except we call them “Socialists”.

Hitler (Germany): Aren’t Nazis “Socialists”, too?

Roosevelt (USA): Errr... I’ll have to check with my political advisors on that...

Mussolini (Italy): Voting is for FOOLS!

Roosevelt (USA): Now, now, Benito... let’s be a bit more tolerant. We do things differently over here... one man, one vote.

Mussolini (Italy): And so do we... so do we. ONE man, ONE vote... ONCE!

Alcala-Zamora (Republican Spain): Are you clowns finished yet? I’ve got an emergency on my hands here... I really need help!

SCW_map.jpg

Lebrun (France): Holy crap, man... you’ve already lost your capital! That really sucks.

Alcala-Zamora (Republican Spain): I know it sucks! That’s why I’m askin’ for help!

Roosevelt (USA): War is evil! I’m gonna embargo both of you.

Alcala-Zamora (Republican Spain): Roosevelt, STFU. Is anybody gonna DO anything?

Avenol (League of Nations): I’ll... I’ll add it to our agenda...

Alcala-Zamora (Republican Spain): Thanks a lot. Is anybody WITH A BRAIN gonna do anything?

Stalin (USSR): Send me all your gold, and I’ll send you some Tanks.

Alcala-Zamora (Republican Spain): Cool, thx. Here it is.

SpanishGold-1.jpg

...

Alcala-Zamora (Republican Spain): ... well... where’s my Tanks?

Stalin (USSR): I got to build them first. Takes four or five months. Each.

Alcala-Zamora (Republican Spain): WHAT??? You creep! I’ll be annexed in five months! Give me back my gold!

Stalin (USSR): Can’t... I already started building them.

Hitler (Germany): Lol.

Mussolini (Italy): Lol. What a noob.

Yeah... I'm typing it up in STUPID Microsoft-Word before copy-and-pasting it into a post, and it insists on correcting my "errors"... spelling and capitalization and so on. It's driving me nuts, and I don't even TRY to catch all of it's "corrections" anymore.

I've had to add all the people's names and stuff like "errr" and "awww" and "WTF" to the friggin' Dictionary, just to cut down on the amount of re-typing.

What about the nationalists? I'd imagine Franco being quite vocal.
