Enewald: I’m not a big fan of water but we’ll see...
Serek000: I can’t recall off the top of my head what our military scores were at the time but I was outmatched. Couple that with Persia’s size and the attrition I would suffer and I just wouldn’t be able to win. If I want Persia I’d have to wait for an opportune moment or until after I civilize.
aldriq: If I haven’t reported it, it hasn’t happened. Not really sure what it is with MA. Alliances seem shaky too. At best I’m able to get a “Very Unlikely” beyond the first year of gameplay. Reminds me a lot of Victoria I in that sense.
But I agree with you about the US, I do like to see the US doing something other than sitting there for 100 years.
Alexspeed: Should be. I’m still learning about armies and how to raise the POPs right. Reading the manual probably would’ve helped but if I do that, then there’s no possibility for a car wreck.

8 September I set the economy back on tract. With China so close, this is exactly how I want it to read. I’d prefer more soldiers but at this point, again, I didn’t realize you had to tax your poor into Oliver Twist to get them.
After this I began building another cavalry unit in October and was hit with another Aristocratic Anger event. I don’t know what they’re so upset about.
27 January 1862 I was able to begin work on 3 more cavalry units. The military was exploding after my occupation of parts of Afghanistan. But I knew it wouldn’t last forever because these new POPs would also gain cash and also wouldn’t want to be soldiers.
7 March the UK annexed Tibet; later in the month UK and China allied. What fun.
On the other side of the world, the US, having problems with the CSA, signed a white peace with Mexico in April. Within five days of that treaty, the CSA and Mexico aligned with one another. And I continued raising relations with Russia. I’m hoping they’ll be a non-factor in my future for a while. At least until I deal with China... if I can.
19 September 1862, China declared war again.
8 October was the first battle. The rolls continued to not go my way.
Eleven days later the Chinese kept pouring over the line.
They’d both eventually be won but the Chinese don’t really need to win their battles due to the amount of people they have.
By 15 November all my units were in place and were covering every bottleneck mountain province I could. This resulted in another Chinese loss but I started wondering at what cost would this be to my military, BB and economy? My economy stood at 979.9 and was losing 23.7 a day; my military was finally rebounding and all the Chinese wanted was a province with 75,000 people with weak resources. Rather than sticking it out for a year, throwing myself into debt, likely losing a few regiments forever and taking more years to replace those regiments, I decided to give the Chinese what they wanted on 16 November.
Right now units are the most important thing to me. Land means nothing, and 75k of foreigners just aren’t going to provide me with what I need. Let the Chinese come while I work on my BB and attempt to open the world to the south or west.
In 1863 I discovered the Command Principal and began work on the Stock Exchange. This was followed up by my construction of 2 more cavalry units, Spain annexing Hedjez and this...
And the US would sign a white peace with the CSA. This is a bad alternate reality for the United States.
1864 was filled with nothing but a litter of events. The OE DoW’d Egypt, I received a few research enhancement events geared toward uncivs and I tried pushing for a more open society. I love elections in these games.
