Yay, the Kingdom of Two Sicilies appeared! Not seeing that too often in KR scenario.

The Downfall of the Bear

The new Marine unit was created, and its training finally done. The marines are expected to see action in the Pacific, especially on performing amphibious assaults. If you ask the marines themselves on what they are expecting, they'll answer: Japan.

Without the needed aid, the trapped forces in Siberia starved. A separate army resisted for a few days until they ran out of ammunition, and surrendered. The rest of the defenders went on until the 13th of November 1943.

The NRA on the west charged through and with the help of the Delhian army, they have destroyed 5 Russian divisions trapped.

After the envelopment, the lines solidify again. Something that the Chinese doesn't want. They have failed repeatedly to punch through the lines. The NRA then went through the north, and flanked the Russian army in Ufa, resulting into a fierce battle. The battle of Ufa was a massive defeat for China.

The lost made the leadership bolder. The plan now is to follow the Volga River up to the Persian border. In the 6th of May 1944, after 15 days, the encirclement is complete. The opponents are now frantically trying to achieve a breakthrough, though it was all futile as the main body of the NRA surge forward to Ufa. The encircled armies were all destroyed.

All that is left to defend Mother Russia against the tempestuous tiger are a meagre force of three divisions.

Note:the third Russian division is still not on the front yet.

By the 4th of July 1944, Moscow was captured. Wrangel, the pretending emperor, was already been killed by his own people. When he was escaping from the capital, a riot sparked and attacked his convoy, and was murdered by the mob on the pavements of the city. The remnants of what government is left surrendered to the Chinese.

---------------------------

The defeated country was cut into two: Siberia, and the rump state of Russia.

The new state of Siberia was created, and are headed by the Siberian Nationalist Party, a group of Siberian Russians who initially were regionalists, and simply wanted autonomy. The group became radical, and seek all out independence after the assassination, and Wrangel's take-over (a person who they saw as an illegitimate emperor). The group received a deal from the devil when Wrangel offer them near full autonomy during the chaos of the late 30s. It was re-annexed, and their group purged in June 1940.

Now the Chinese offered something more, and a puzzling one too. Siberia will become a nation, but it will be a tributary state to the Middle Republic, with no control on its foreign policy. It has to pay tribute to Nanjing if it desires to be protected by it. The new nation, afraid of a resurgent Russia, agreed. The new system puzzled the Russians who are used to the concept of Westphalian Sovereignty. This new status is somewhere in between a vassal and an independent sovereign nation.

The highlights of the Agreement in Novosibirsk:

  • The capital of the Siberian Federation will be placed on Novosibirsk. The largest city in Siberia.
  • The new Siberian state shall be funded by Nanjing. A new parliamentary building for the Siberian government.
  • The new state shall be modelled similarly to the Russian federation, keeping the federal states intact.
  • The two countries mutually agrees the borders of the new state. The partner state, China, promises to assist the liberation of the lands claimed by Siberia; the borderlands currently controlled by Delhi, and the eastern lands controlled by the Transamur Republic.
  • The Siberian Russians have promised to respect the indigenous people of Siberia, of their languages, of their cultures, of their traditions, and of their religions.
  • Siberia renounces any ambitions of reuniting with the “Muscovite” Russians.

The Rise of the Kadets

The Kadets were one of the components of the Kerensky coalition. Their demise began after Kerensky's assassination and the take-over of the Wrangelists. The Kadets are the closest ally the Chinese have in Russia as they are very similar in ideology to the coalition that's dominating Nanjing, and also the ones who received the worst damage under Wrangel's totalitarian regime. After the defeat of the Wrangelists, the exiled Kadets in Finland returned, and they were headed by Irakli Tsereteli, who became the new Prime Minister of Russia. The new government promise to lead Russia into the (Social) Liberal route.

Another change is, the return of the Romanov family onto the throne. In contrasts to the Chinese, Kuomintang have no desire to seat an emperor to the Dragon Throne, even if it's ceremonial. However, the two parties have concluded that a ceremonial Tsar would create a solidarity among the Russian people and to promote stability. An advantage that Kerensky's government does not have.

When it comes to command and control, the Chinese have settled down with an alliance with the defeated country, as they cannot control this far-away nation. The Russians accepted the humiliating gesture as a necessity to survive any hostile forces trying to exploit the weakened nation.

The effects of the Sino-Russian war has radically changed European outlook in the Far East. The total defeat of a European country against an Asian one, in comparison to defeats of Russia under the Japanese, and of Germany under the Vietnamese, gave the Far East a more open respect among the people from the West. The Far East countries simply cannot be treated the same way any more.

Another thing is that the northern border is safe, with a reliant ally eager to regain its lands too.

Not to mention, China now has a political entry point into Europe, a weak one but something to be reckoned with when it is time to fight Germany.

---------------------------

The victory have sparked wide celebration and an enthusiastic view of the future. In popular culture, many artists are singing patriotic songs which conveniently removes any dissension to the government.

New secret weapons were presented to the cabinet. The presenting scientists proclaimed that these “rockets”, developed by an American physicist named Goddard, would become important in the future. China have boasted herself that she invented the ancient rockets, now she's dedicated on developing its modern variants.

What do you think? Should Russia remain as an ally? Or full independence? Puppet is not an option. I don't want to make it a puppet.

I skipped a lot of redundant details after the Ufa pocket. There isn't any to talk about except beating those three divisions and taking more land.

I feel like Russia would be more of a liability than an asset. If you go to war with Germany, their entire army can walk through Russia, into Siberia, and attack you in China. Unless you want to fight another Siberian war, this one with a much strong foe, I suggest casting Russia off by itself.

I don't see how more allies can hurt; asides, combining Russian and Chinese manpower could be the last thing Germany is prepared for. Also, if China presents an ultimatum to Germany, they might be a bit more likely to comply peacefully if German lands in Europe are under threat, as opposed to just their Asian possessions.
Also, Irakli as a Kadet? Say it ain't so! The poor Mensheviks.

+1. We should see a Chinese Europe in the near future.

At the very least, it should be a loyal puppet.

Irakli Tsereteli as a Kadet heads an Romanov/imperial government backed by the republican Kuomintang.

My head. It won't stop spinning.

@Gukpa, Fireblaze, Nikolai - No. :p

@Dofon, Milities - *rips a history book in half* WELCOME TO KAISERREICH!!!

@ptan - thanks!

@Dofon - I do background checks on the head of states I encounter. I'm puzzled too. Trust me. After the liberation, a Social-Liberal Russia showed up with the Romanovs at the helm with Irakli as the PM. I think I'll post the Russia cabinet next update just to efff with you guys.

@Everyone - a nice variety of opinions. That's nice. Thanks for the feedback.

I like this original concept of tributary state for Siberia! I think it's most plausible to keep Russia as equal ally, some kind of sidekick to China. Maybe even going for some kind of Sino-centric Eurasianist concept? It could be a pursuit for ideal of cooperation that unites entire Eurasian landmass, of course under Chinese guidance. Oh, I forgot that this is happening IRL already. ^^

Joke aside, I think it would be interesting concept for this scenario as well. In its basis it would be dual alliance: Asia for China, Europe for Russia, both being equal parts of same alliance, some kind of geopolitical Yin and yang.

I like this idea. It crossed my mind but you made it more presentable. But not a Eurasianism goal. I'm planning for a Chinese version of the Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere, plus Central Asia and South Asia. The sphere is more benevolent this time since China is a mainstream democracy.

As for an allied Russia, if they manage not to be annexed by Germany before I'm done in Asia, then I guess that makes an interesting story.

If you want some ideas about what to do with Russia, you should read Porkman's amazing China's AARight to be Hostile - A different way for the Guomindang . It's a brilliant AAR with loads of great info.

I suppose that lovely mention means I'm going to have to finish it. I have the last entry, I work on it, get frustrated and close it for a month.

But about KR, why is Sun Li Jen here? He was trained in America at the Virginian Military College. The NRA of the era had a lot of alumni cliques based on military academies and Sun Li Jen was shut out of the regular army because he didn't have the right connections.

He was only brought in because the T.V. Soong and Kong Xiangxi tapped the American trained officers to run the Finance ministry's armies. While Kong Xiangxi undoubtedly still exists in the KR timeline, he would not have been in a position of influence under the Germans. I guess I want to know what was Sun Li Jen doing in 1927 in KR? Was he hired by the Germans for their army?

As for the military stuff, Sun is American trained.

That said, good show on the current AAR.

I'll try to make an update today. Just a quick look at the world, and China's neighbours.

@Milites - A good AAR but not really the same as mine since Russia already has her leg and a half already in the grave when I went to war. There's nothing left to do to Russia except to take away Siberia.

@Porkman - oh my! You're replying on my China AAR! :eek:hmy:

There is no mention of the "Rommel of the East" in the KR canon. But in this AAR, Sun Li-Gen is a fugitive/insurgent during the Company's rule. I put Sun Li-Gen into the AAR because he is the head of state of the rebelling ROC in-game, which I interpreted as the head of the rebel army. And he is very unavoidable; he is in the cabinet even after the election, he is a techteam, and a field-marshall. I made Sun Li-Gen a specialist on Soviet-style of warfare because that's the way he is setup as a tech-team. So, I made him a home-brew general similar to Mao and Chiang, these two I made followers of this doctrine, and are both Syndicalists, which is why when Manpower Focus was trashed after the fight with the Millennials, they quickly blamed it on.. the Syndicalists. On the other hand, I made up the details that the supporters of the Superior-Firepower doctrine are German trained because that is the doctrine used by KR Germany.

There are a lot of plotholes and lack of information in KR, and in my AAR. Well, simply because the former is a mod. But thanks for asking, I think that was a short-coming of mine for the lack of details on their background.
