You have not a shred of morality to cling to, Senor. Your conduct in this campaign is evidence enough of that. You pay pandering service to the Catholic Church in order to ensnare their voters, yet when the Church comes forward with a proposal for poverty relief, you slander this as Socialism. You seek to harvest the Christian vote without having to follow Christian principles. You brandish your faith as a woman flaunts a fur coat; you wear your faith on your chest, but not in your heart.
It is exactly to spur the impoverished classes onto to self-sufficiency that I make my proposal. I do not propose to give a hand-out, but a hand up. I propose to uplift those in poverty, not drag down those in affluence. The latter is Communism; the former is Christianity. This small investment will reap mass dividends for the nation. Employment will rise as the impoverished are returned to the workplace; crime rates will fall, as this is the profession to which the impoverished turn to; and the economic wellbeing of the nation will be secured. What little we invest shall be returned as the economy flourishes. It is a sensible and prudnt policy, supported by the Church and by classical economic theory. It is hardly the stuff of Socialism, which enjoys the support of neither.
If you are so confident of victory, Senor, why do you now appeal to racism to save yourself? If you are so certain that the Partido Republicano can only be lead to victory under your candidacy, why do you seek to have me disqualified before the convention has even concluded? Indeed, it seems strange that a conservative statesmen would reach for the arguments of the radicals. But you are no statesman. You are a hapless political conjuror, reaching for trick after trick to appease your audience, even as the whole show comes crashing down upon you.
