Raeder smiled to himself. Molotov walked in looking less than happy. "Good afternoon Herr molotov I assume you have an offer from Stalin"? After several months Geman soldiers had advanced into Baku.

The Soviet army was a mess. Surrounded and destroyed they were collapsing on all fronts. Panzers had thrust deep into Soviet central asia. The frontline would soon reach Stalin personally.

Furious Molotov threw a treaty onto the table. Signed by Stalin himself. Glancing at it Raeder signed on the dotted line. On behalf of the Fuhrer of course who was somewhat indisposed. At sea the Kriegsmarine scoured the Atlantic looking for allied ships to engage bu alas they seemed to make contact with any.

Raeder pulled out a map of the new Reich. Its good to be king he thought.

Even before theguns had fallen silent however German troops had been making their way to the Baltic ports. 30+ divisiosn had already left Brest for parts unknown. New models of destroyers with advanced fire control systems had also started to come off the production lines.

a little adventure in north america soon?

i hope you take part of your army to india and teh middle east too

Maybe. Thought I would leave the midle east to Italy. In a normal game I often do a middle east campaign after Spain and Gibralter fall around mid 40. I normallly grab India and Sri Lanka around mid 40-apr41 and leave behind Axis troops and redploy back to Europe for Barbarossa. I wanted a reasonably quick game though and I've never built a fleet this size this early in the game before. Goal is to have around 24 BB for invasion USA each with rader, fire control and imporved hull and all the SAG destroyers to have fire control. The production tab is crazy. 9BB, 4 lvl IV destroyers, 5 lvl V destroyers w/FC, 10 FC, 12 capital hull brigades, 12 LR subs, 6 capital radar, 6 transports, 7 convoys.USA here I come LOL but I should have enough navy to take on Japan as well.

The below is for Mico94- I do requests where viable. Italy has NA and the ME west of Iraq.

Raeder woke up with a start. He thought he was hearing voices in his head but he was only dreaming. Still even dreams can give you an idea. For some reason he has a grand vision of Germany never being dependent on foreign oil again. Units were in the process of being transferred back from Barbarossa but a few were still iplace. Picking up the phone he asked for a rundown on what was available and where. The Kriegsmarine was busy patroling the Atlantic for surviving allied raiders while the transport fleet was busy in the Baltic and sailing out of Brest. Nevertheless he managed to find a few spare units. He also decided to redirect one of the Kriegsmarine fleets as the Atlantic seemed quiet and the Italians had control of the Suez. Besides it would give Donitz a chance to test out his new submarine toys and get him out of Raeders feet. Sometimes he suspected Donitz of wanting his job but he was probably only imagining it.

German industry continued to face a shortage of rare materials alhtough current stockpiles were quite large. Marines captured the important port of Colombo which had large deposits of required materials. In additon a major naval base was also located here.

ScreenSave0-8.jpg

Meanwhile Raeder personally engaged elements of the main English battlefleet at sea sending the HMS King George VI to the bottom. This was the largest naval engagement since Sealion in 1940

ScreenSave1-11.jpg

After weeks of slow grinding combat in rough terrain the German advace in Persia was halted. Large amounts of Allied reinforceents had managed to repulse advances and the possability existed of a new military concept for the Reich. The revolutionary concept was generally known as a "strategic retreat". Hungarian and Bulgarin units were rushed to the area to establish new defensive lines in the Tabriz area should a retreat be ordered.

ScreenSave2-9.jpg

In order to relieve pressure on Persia diversionary assaults are ordered in India.
ScreenSave3-11.jpg

The Kreigsmarine claim another battleship victim. It is not without coast however as a transport flotilla cointaining a brave Volksturm division joins the HMS Barham on the bottom of the sea.

20/2/42
Student was furious. Although the advance in Persia remained static all mountaineer diviosions were ordered redeployed to Brest. That left a handful of Slovakian and Bulgarian unist to hold the line. They were also ordered to fall back to Tabriz and dig in. In effect Raeder had ordered them to abandon Persia. He knew more divisions were on the way to reinforce India but even they were taken from the French garrison. A very thin defensive line of Axis troops remained along the Volga but a good sneeze by could blow over the Reichs territories in the former Soviet lands. If Stalin decided to come west there wasn't alot between the Urals and Warsaw to stop him. Even the units from France and England were redeployed to the eastat best tey may be able to hold Moscow. Privately he worried about a collapse in Persia and a Soviet renewal of the war. Such an event could likely lead to the loss of most of eastern Europe. Rumours were slow to reach him out east but transport ships had been busy for months. Where had Raeder stashed the Wehrmact?

ScreenSave7-7.jpg

Also all marines were ordered to stand down in India and report to the coast for retrieval by the Kriegsmarine. Unknown to all Raeder had a mighty plan to defend the Reich and he had stashed away signifigant reserves. A hidden special elie unite of the Wehrmacht had literally spent years training for this event.

ScreenSave6-8.jpg

Eeeep. The USA entered the war due to Japan. The USA promptly joins the Allies. Raeder redpolys some units to the beaches of France and increases patrols in the Atlantic. The Bermuda garrison readies for war.
ScreenSave8-8.jpg

The first encounter between the USN and Kriegsmarine. Over the next few weeks numerous skirmishes have the same results as the USN loses small fleets to German raiders.

The Kriegsmarine was ready to sail. Possably the biggest fleet in history was assembled in one place. 6 long years of toil was about to be rewarded. Photographers captured the moment. 24 Bismarck class ships and their escorts sailed west. Each battleship was upgraded with modern fire control, radar and improved hulls. Each destroyer flotila had modern fire control. Raeder believed nothing could stop this fleet. The USN probably had a different idea.

The victor would write the history books.
ScreenSave13-4.jpg

This was it. Raeders dream of 6 years. German troops landing in the Americas. The Kriegsmarine blockade the coast.
ScreenSave14-4.jpg

The USN tries to break the blockade of the Gulf of Mexico. The Kriegsmarine repulse the assault with no ships sunk on either side.

Total Naval Blockade of the Coast of Mexico. Several small USN efforts to break through are repulsed

Panzers break through in the southern USA. Guderian and Manstein are tasked with assaulting Chicago. Long drive.
ScreenSave22-3.jpg

The darkest day of the Reich. 25% of the capital ships of Germany are destroyed in a single engagement. Empty transports flee the scene. 2 SAG groups are rushed to the scene for revenge hoping the USN ships have taken heavy damage. Even worse not a single USN ship is sunk.

Hax :p

Your horde of ungodly Germans will be tossed to the sea by our Lumberjack Commandos !

Guderian pondered on his position. It had been a long hard drive. The American resistence had been concentrated on the coasts. His Panzer IV was in deep wilderness territory now The road forward could be a difficult one. Lumberjack Commandos had changed road signs and felled trees to impede his progress. The Canadians had even trained their grizzly bears with oicnic hampers to seek food under their tanks. Strappping explosives to their backs they would unleash them on advancing German armor.

It was a dirty war and German uits now had standing orders to shoot grizzzlies on sight. At least they werenn't cvered by the Geneva convention Scattered American and English units were also fighting on in the Canadian wilderness. Persistent rumours also claimed that they were training polar bears to fly Spitfires and of hidden factories in Igloos far to the north. Finally some good news came in.

It had not been a good year for President Roosevelt. The Japanese had launched a surprise attack on Pearl Harbour. Popular support enabled FDR tp ring America into the war. A few days later the USA decleared war on the Axis as well. Germany invited Japan into the Axis and proceeded with an invasion of mainland USA. Within a few months the veterens of the Wehrmacht had swept aside all American and Canadian reistence.

Roosevelt had made it our on one of the last boats after being evacuated to thewest. He was unable to make t to the new capital in Costa Rica. His personal staff and a handful of bodyguards were left in his new command centre. Unknown to the Germans he could direct the war effort from here. It was also out of range of any known fleet.

Underestimating the Germans who discovered his location, they built a massive new port. After rebasing elements of the Kriegsmarine there Raeder personally ventured out.

The sound of shooting woke Roosevelt. These days he was very tired and not in the best of health. An aide came running in. Mr President german marines have landed. Thousands of them. Knowing resistence was pointless Roosevelt went outside. The weather was a cool spring day with just a hint of ice on the air. Waiting in his reception area was a German in full dress uniform. An interpreter stood by while German naval marines carrying MP40's stood guard.

"Herr Grand Admiral I'm afraid you have me at a disadvantage"........

A few days later it was all over.

ScreenSave11-8.jpg

While technically still at war all that was left was the remnants of France, Belgium and The Netherlands to mop up. The commonwealth was still in the war but South Africa, Australia and New Zealand were no real threat. The rump state of the Soviet Union stayed where they were and the Japanese were alllied with the Reich.

A massive victory parade was planned in Berlin. The German people were somewhat sad as news came that the boat traveling from Norway to Germany carrying Himmler and Hitler sank in mysterious circumstances. To popular acclaim Raeder became the new Fuhrer- Heil Kreigsmarine.

Thats more or less it. I will end my AAR here for the time being although it may turn into a world conquest eventually as Japan and the USSR could be dealt with. I wish to start another one and the goal was never a world conquest but to defeat the UK, USSR and USA by 1942/43. In effect the USA was gone by July 42 but I missed the last VP on Attu as the pacific VPs seem random between games. You can aime for a march/april/may Invasion USA and annex within 3-4 months with practice. Essentially the game was won in 1940 with Sealion. Unlike most German games you focus heavily on a strong naval buidup right from the start and use gearing bonuses alot more.

The X6 battleships were still being churned out in 1943, along with the improved destroyers which were ordered in 1937. The 1936 infantry lines also laid down on Jan1st 36 were swiched on and off and the last inf came off them in 42. No submarines were built until late in the game and they're not really needed but i had some great sea wold admirals and alot of IC to build X12 at once. No modern Panzer was constructed as I only built Panzer I and upgraded them a long time later (1939 or so)

The invasion of Poland and France are key as you use the extra IC gained to start preparing for Sealion and a single run of motorised infantry also gives you around 8of them for barbarossa to go with your 17-18 panzers. Between oct39-May41 X12 marines and X12 mountaineers are also builtfor Sealion and Barbarossa. The luftwaffe is heavily neglected, while you will be short on key materials having the bare minimum amount of supplies as all IC is directed to buildng and upgrading your army. By Danzig or War odds are about half of your forces will technically be obsolete. In this game I stayed with Sea Lane Interdiction although you can switch to Fleet in Being. You won't really build carriers as the decent ones don't become available until 39 or so or you can spam out Bismarcks right from day 1.

Italy usually storms the midde east and doesn't suck as much as a regular game. In this game I helped them out to capture Alexandria and to get over the Suez canal. Most of the time they manage that fine by themselves. The Africa Korp was only their for a few weeks in late 1940 in any event. If you dpon't mind a delayed 42 USA invasion you can invade through Persia and advace into Central Asia. Not to hard with your reasonably massive navy togo through Suez. Invading Persia usually gets a DoW form the Soviets. The idea is to liberate Kazakstan and if combined with a Japanese alliance the post bitter peace USSR is missing the eatern territories conceded to Japan along with more or less all of central asia if you liberate the small republics. While you get a massive dissent hit the Bitter peace firing tends to eliminate all of it (liberate when you capture the last BP requirment). An alliance with Japan often means an early war with the USA though which can be annoying during Barbarossa and isn't really needed but its fun to totally truncate the Soviets. On higher difficulty settings you don't have the IC to build everything required so any massive naval force will likely have to be built after you take some countries over.

The Reich in this game.

The Italian Empire. Mostly they done it without my help. We fought totally different campaigns with virtually no co operation. They probably kept the Allies busy for a while though before the USA entered the war. Impressive effort for Italian AI.

ScreenSave12-7.jpg

And the Japanese who I ignored for the whole game until I needed access to their naval bases to annex the USA. I was intending on DoWing them but can't be bothered.

I see the Resistance in Canada lives on. And so shall it always. :p

Thanx guys. I hd never seen a post or AAR where someone had done a naval buildup to this extent that early in the game. I tried to work out how Germany could buid 2 SAGS by Danzig or War and have enough transports and convoys to invade England and this was what I came up with. I noticed alot of the time invading France and Poland in a traditional German game I had alot more forces than I needed. After playing a few minors and the like I got use to using 1918 and 1936 infantry as well.

Basically I put it all togather and came up with this.

Nice. I have to say that was quite impressive, I just read the AAR, short but sweet. Good job taking Soviet Union that fast. Now what would be really interesting is if you loaded the last save as France and tried to win the war with what little they have left. Anyway, looking forward to see what you do next.
