The astute will notice some discrepencies between screenshots. I had multiple windows open and was using the windows key to bounce back and forth between game, forums and photobucket. Computer had a hissy fit and I had to reload a save game. The advance was essentially the same in both games the difference in the reload being the Kriegsmarine getting chewed up. I couldn't be bother taking new screenshots and uploading them again for essentially the same invasion.

Ergo fleet being smashed in one picture and 2 18 ship SAGs in following screenshots. The orignal game was actually more advantageous to me, but I thought Jutland ptII was funny.

Sargossa is ours. alpinejager continue the advance. Guderian impresses the high command.

Damn you and your Naval Plans. The Royal Navy should have gone properly British and destroyed you. Other than that, Canada should give you a right kick in the pants.

And if all else fails, we can count on the Soviet Union and the USA to crush you.

I should have lost that naval battle but the Luftwaffe got right in in. X4 naval bombers, X4 tac bombers helped out. Soviets could be a problem as the luftwaffe is something like X4 INt,X4 nav and X10 tac bombers strong.

Theres also a shortage of suplies as well. If I launch barbarossa I doubt I'll have more than 10K available. Thats probably not enough to put my army on offensive supplies. So much IC here goes into naval buildup theres very little left for everything else- on top of having to import rare materials from the USSR in order to feed the extra IC. Air doctrines have also suffered as you still have to try and churn out your usual suspects (ind, tech, inf, armor etc) + naval units and doctrines. Haven't even started on the TC improving ones or Kampfgruppe doctrine and I don't have 1940 level decryption:(.

Having 2 BB held up for 6 months, and 3 on the bottom of the ocean is a bit unusual in this sort of game. Damn English. May bite me in the butt later on. Just for that I think I'll invade Canada a few years early:)

Try it. The Remnants of the Royal Navy and the Lumberjack Commandos of Canada will kick you into the Sea.

Ok, so you've annexed Republican Spain, I'm sure Franco is pretty pissed at you right now :)

How many provinces does Franco now hold?? He can't be pleased you've walked in and stole his country out from under him :)

Zee Germans appear to be preparing for something big around May/June 41. I vonder vhat???

He was losing very badly. Ruling a province is probably better than being executed I imagine.

OK he has several. He can sail back and forth to his islands.

The Italians were struggling in North Africa/ Raeder dispatches the Afrika Korp under Rommel to help them out. It would be rude not to. 16 PAnzer divisions crash into allied lines at El Alamein. The road to Alexandria is open. Also 8 squadrons of naval bombers out of Athens lurk to pick off any remnants of the English fleet.

TFH isn't faring so well. The Allied blockade has taken a heavy toll. Raeder dispatches some Kriegsmarine transports to go and pick them up. Himmler will be assigned a new mission of critical importance to the Reich. A special assignment uniquely suited to Himmlers skills is called for.

ScreenSave17-2.jpg

Alas the boat got their to late. Unfortionately Himmler flie back into Berlin unanounced. Now Raedler will have to find him a new assignment. Raeder has an special mission well suited for Heinrichs special skills. You can never be to careful of those Finns.

Did Adolf Starve to death ? Please say yes.

Na he survived. Still head of state but he chose to go with Himmler and paint seascapes. The arctic is nice at this time of year.

A few weeks later the Afrika Korp departs. Italy should be able to stand alone now.

1/5/41 Top Secret Staff Meeting. Unknown Location.

Raeder walked into the room. Unlike the typical cabinet meeting this one was purely military. Runstedt, Bloomberg, Manstein, Kleist Rommel, Model, Guderian, Student, Schorner were all here.

"Gentleman thank you for turning up on such short notice". Raeder began. In consultation with the Fuhrer we have agreed it is time to deal with the bolshevik menace once and for all".

The room was as quiet as death
Model cut the ice. "Shouldn't we be content with what we have Raeder. We have done will so far but the Soviets have a huge army"......

Cutting him off Raeder interrupted One that will only get bigger in time. Do you want them to come say hello in 42 or 43, perhaps in conjunction with the Americans if that fool Churchills incessant whining has any effect on them".

Model shut up. Raeder pulled out some maps. I have here the deployment of our forces. We are waiting for the weather to clear before proceeding.

"We have massed 200 divisions the immediate Soviet border. In addition a further 21 are deployed in Finland to aid our Finish Allies defend their territory and help capture Leningrad. Inn addition over 50 Hungarian and Bulgarian divisions stand ready to aid our efforts. The Finns have contributed 21 divisiosn on their front while the Italians continued to tie up Allied forces in Africa and the Middle East.Due to extensive effort and purchasing planes off our allies the Luftwaffe can contribute".

12 squadrons Close Air support
10 squadronsTactical Bombers
8 squadrons Naval Bombers (of limited use)
8 Squadrons of interceptors.

"The Kreigsmarine is standing by to aid efforts in the baltic. They have more than recovered from Sealion and a third SAG is almost ready along with numerous destroyers in smaller fleets or assigned as escorts to transports. Over 40 transport squadrons are ready as well".

Of the more or less 200 hundred divisions facing the immediate Soviet front they are as follows".

12 Marines with SPA
16 mountaineeers 15/16 with engineers
18 armored
8 motorized

"The rest is mostly modern (41) infantry with a smattering of militia. Most of out militia corps are used in defensive positions or are in Finland. A grand total of 15 divisions are left to defend Europe from Norway England through to Spain. They are supported by numerous garrision units and a handful of Hungarians in Spain. I will also redploy the Croation army to help cover the coast but the Allies have no bases anywhere close to us and they will have to get through the Kriegsmarine as well. I don't anticipate any trouble from the west and I doubt the USA will get involved yet".

The officers looked less than enthusiastic but what could you expect? "Gentlmen there may be some last minute slight adjustments to deployment but otherwise we wait on the weather. I expect a tentative date of May the 15th will be time for"......

Operation Barbarossa

Meanwhile back in Berlin Jodl though Raeder was nuts. While the Wehrmacht fought for the Reichs very existence on the new eastern front Raeder orders more naval units!!!!!!!

X5 production lines of convoys
X4 transports (+2 already in production one line since 36!!!!)
X5 41 model destroyers (with fire control)
X6 capitalimproved hull
X12 lines of long range subs
X3 capital ship rader
X10 fire control
reactivates X6 capital fire control

On top of the X9 battleships being constructed and 4 production lines of destroyers. Jodl thought the existing Kriegsmarine was more than capable of defeating the remnants of the English fleet. Raeder did make 1 concession to the army and orders 3 lines of mechanised infantry. That'll scare the Russians he thought. Jodl was also paranoid about Russian counterattacks. If only the Fuhrer was imformed about what was going on but nobodey had heard from him for a while.

A large pocket forms in the Prippet Marshes area. German marines are assigned to help the Wehrmacht clear it out over the next few weeks.

The Soviets manage to throw back 1 whole German divisiosn. Stalin must be proud.

Here come the marines.

Another pocket forms in the former Romanian territiories. Despite the best efforts of Geman diplomats Romania wasn't interested in joining the Axis. If they had they would have got their provinces back.

Stalingrad has fallen, Moscow should soon, Leningrad, Baku and Sverdlosk to go. German lines are very thin in the Ukraine/Stalingrad area, Sevastapol still holding out but the elimination of pockets in the Prippet marshes has allowed numerous divisions to start marching east.
