Indeed, exporting them would be great - I just meant that maybe it could be made possible to also mod them in-game, just like a unit's name (but this would probably be not necessary, if there was already a .csv containing them, that's true).

imo strategic bombing and log strike must be nerfed seriously. they are by far the strongest aspect of the game. not only because capital bombardment, but a well prepared enemy can bomb the very ground under your troops feet to say 5percent. this immediately reduces your troops org regain to zero. in case u decide to retreat you will even lose org.
1: units in province should be able to shot on planes bombing (or passing by) the province just as AAA (that would give strategical importance to aa brigades what are completly useless now)
2: AAA is ineffective beyond belief. even with radars. if there is the maximum of 10 in a province i dont want it to be attacked by planes, or i expect serious damage done to the bombers. either make aaa hit harder or give the possibility to deploy say 20 to a province.
3: tactical bombers should be much less effective on strat bombing missions, to make strat bombers a viable choice. cas should have a very limited strat bombing capacity also (they can attack railroads, bridges... etc)
4: province repairs shouldnt take ages, its nonsense. irl the bridges were destroyed daylight by americans were restored in a night by germans. it should cost some serious ic (not 0.05 as now), but even a 10 time faster infra repair is acceptable. this way strat bombing can cause serious ic damage (as irl), but can't break the army by itself.
5: make infra bombing much less effective after 50% of infra or ic is destroyed in a province. its not hard to destroy bridges, railroads, chokepoints if you have air superiority, but to destroy all roads in 15.000 square km (a province) is nonsense.

I would like to use planes in AoD as they were in irl, mostly in army support role, and secondly on massive carpet bombing missions (which were very ineffective (especially before advanced bombers), and only usefull in the long run)

And if u restore the importance of ground aa, i would like to see mobil anti aircraft brigades in the armor&artillery research tree
For 1.09 :D

Maybe this has been implemented already, but still, in case it isn't: An algorithm that decides on ASW mission into which sea zone inside predetermined sea area the hunting fleet is going to randomly move should take into account also the fact in which zones there has been (own) convoy ships lost lately (this data is available already (and shown on Supply map)) and should rate these zones with higher weigth in the random choice process. (This could be the case also for Naval Combat Patrol and Naval Interdiction missions, but with lower weights compared to ASW.) Maybe these weights could be modified further with the naval doctrines researched and level of decryption tech.

More flexibility on adj-def.csv file. There is a limit of a single connection between two provinces. If it's possible please disable this limit. I explain what I mean in here.

There should be a possibility for a player to decide what kind of blueprints his spies should be trying to steal. Perhaps a new popup window with some selection possibilities, or maybe just an easy mechanism. We shouldn't steal blueprints from inactive/disabled technologies, should prioritize currently developing techs, new divisions techs, new brigades techs and lastly lowest priority on encryption/decription techs. The priorities could be somehow modable.

(Also posted in convoy thread)

What I would like to see (in addition to a better supply system).

1 - Vastly increased Airpower vs Naval units to make it more realistic (thats partly why the UK's home fleet was based in Scapa Flow).

Naval bombers should have a chance of destroying vessels or at least vastly reducing their strength (due to damage) rather than reducing their organisation.
It would also mean that Island hopping is totally necessary in any pacific campaign. You cant just bypass those islands that might be within bomber or naval bomber range.

2 - A new naval intelligence system.

Countries frequently had spies in other countries monitoring naval movements (Germans in India etc). Friendly countries populations also talked. Freighters and Navies with flags from countries not in the war also talked. Some of this intelligence made it's way back to Berlin/London.
I would like to see temporary 'map markers' (and game log entries) to show the previous presence of convoys, large groups of ships and other naval forces. This would be under cirtain situations such as passing through narrow straights (certain randomness applied), Pocket battleships in the South Atlantic (for example) may be spotted by various navies (some with friendly views toward the UK for example). Quote "A Norwegian freighter saw Graf Spee practising the use of its searchlights and radioed its course toward South America."

3 - Separate Ammo from Supplies.

One of my personal bugbears since day 1.
Food dissipates over time and a certain amount can be scavenged. If a unit is low (not out) of food, they dont fight much worse - especially on the defence. If a unit is nearly out of ammo it might ration it (poorer defence/harrassing fire/Artillery values when attacking etc) if it's out of Ammo it might as well surrender.

Ammo depletes very gradually when not in a battle. It should go down very fast when in battle.
Food depletes regularly over time (when not in supply) but can be made to last (even when out of supply). Food can also be scavenged.

4 - New Map View showing potential bomber and fighter ranges (given current intelligence estimates) by use of shaded areas or highlighted perimeter.

Useful for the pacific campaign and for any navy (or Convoy) not wanting ton of trouble from land.
Fighter and Bombers keep merchant navies safe (reducing the effective combat area of Submarines). Subs (even submerged) are surprisingly easy to spot from the air!

5 - Ability to set your own routes for supply convoys..

Pretty obvious this one.

6 - Unit upgrades.

If the rifles, guns and tanks are 'there' should it only takes a supply shipment to upgrade them? Also, how often were home guards prioritised over front line troops for refits? Not often I would have thought. Yet these seem to be the ones that get them first?
Some sort of in-built upgrade priority please!

7 - Naval upgrades.

Ships should be out of action (dry docked) when being upgraded (but should be upgraded faster and more cheaply).. Ships cannot be at sea for years just needing a day or two to resupply every so often.. Doesnt work like that.
Ships speeds (and possibly range) decreased slightly if they didn't get dry docked (due, in part, to bio-fouling). Engines and boilers needed serviced and cleaned!

-

Oh and as much automation as possible please - for convoys - to avoid excessive micromanagement.

Yeah the details need to be worked on, but you get the idea!

One useful feature would be a cheat code similar to debugai that would show on screen -- after activating it and clicking any country -- nation's Overview information from its Technology tab. The content of info and layout may remain exactly the same, just without a background. (It could be called aitech or something like that.) When running a handsoff test game, it would offer easy and convenient way to receive information about doctrines and models etc of different counterparts without saving/loading/reloading or calculating too much (based on Org and other unit parameters).

EDIT: I meant this information (example is from AoD CORE [source: Hister's Japanese AAR]):

That works both ways. As much as we can argue the threat of air force to navies, it would easily lead to situation ala HoI2 where it's easy to just ignore navy altogether, as you can simply build tons of NAV instead. Keeping NAVs (or TACs, or even CAS) in-between instant killers and possible threat\harassing element itself could easily be a compromise and a reason to actually keep navies as the primary arm in the Pacific. Unless they greatly change the Pacific naval distances at least, which would lead to other problems how to scale ship ranges, as the in-game map is not exactly that good to scale with real distances around there.

I started to think whether aircrafts have in a battle against ships a critical hit possibility like other ships have? Probably not, but adding this parameter into combat engine might solve the problem, not to mention picture more closely reality. It would make risk profile more complex and complicate respective decisions -- on average NAVs would have moderate and mainly Org-decreasing effect, but at the same time they would be capable sinking a full-strength ship in a single combat. Sea transporting your tanks (even if heavily escorted) under naval bomber threat should be a tough choice to make.

I had a thought, I don't know if you guys agree ... shouldn't you be able to kove troops with your transport planes? I mean, for example if I have an island with an airport I should be able to load an infantry into my transport plane and move my planes to my airport in the island (to unload).
It makes sense in my head, what do you guys think?

EDIT: 1 more thing, moar scenarios! :D

It would be nice to allow this option at least for mountain troops - nearly all their equipment should be man/mule portable anyways. An event command to enable division transport with planes could be added, so that the last transport plane model can transport divisions - eg. type = allow_air_transport which = [div_type]

Korea(south) would need and update in ministers and a few TT one day.

Simple and good solution. Could be activated by technology, so researching better transport planes would allow to move heavier equipment.

I have a little suggestion.
How if when a country offers province for peace negotiation, those provinces are shown in the map instead just list. This make us easier to see what they offers. Make possible too to see economic value on those provinces and also if that provinces is our national/ demanded province. And also when we demand provinces/ offers provinces, why not make it possible to select from the map instead select from the list?

thanks.

Heh, I've wanted this for ages, ever since HoI 1!

It's just massively tedious to try to remember by name what provinces are important and what aren't.

That would be great! But, wait a moment, what if just put a small button next to each province on the list. This button would move you to the specific province.
Not that comfortable solution, but i think much easier to implement.

Yes, yes, yes! God YES!
I love this idea :D
