How can this happen (US):

From a 1943 save of a Jap GC 36, recent DDA beta. Is this a known prob? Just noticed while I wanted to edit something.

I have noticed a more aggressive AI such that Poland, Czech, Russia, and the allies are at war with me (Germany) in April 1939, modeled in this post:
http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showpost.php?p=9598401&postcount=5883

And when I played as Hungary and I declared war on Yugo in 1940 Russia declared war on me a month later and I became terribly screwed.

In previous versions I was able to conquer all of the balkans before anyone got mad. Does the patch make the AI more aggressive?

I think that if Czechoslovakia doesn't give in or join the Axis, you're basically screwed. And it has always been this way. Without the Ribbentrop-Molotov deal the Soviets will come to the aid of the Western Allies.

I've noticed France is willing to tackle 12 division armies in Frieburg and the Saar before I'm done with Poland. Good for them.

True, the same goes for Anschluss. The whole event train should be re-written. In EIR the czech events are organized around manual demands for Czech territory which become possible based on the relative military power of Germany to the France.

trouble with crash

Hi,

my first post here, actually. :)

I have installed the beta patch on my clean version of HOIDDA and never had any problems prior to installing the patch.

Now unfortunately, the game keeps crashing at the end of april.
Funnily, after exporting a save game from Vicky R, that was not the case and the game was stable.

Running on XP, any suggestions?

Thanks in Advance

p.s. I prefer the new intelligence operations to the old ones. Well done.

What language are you playing in. Try switching to English (open Settings.cfg and change the first number to a zero (0)).

This sounds like a bug in the Espionage messages, but I could be wrong.

About the Vicky-R to Hoi2 conversions...I'm not sure they will work anymore because of the changes in the savegame format.

Thanks. Actually after reading a little into the thread I saw this has been previously adressed. I am playing in German. But now at least I know how to change the language. I much prefer to play in English anyway.

Regarding VR. They seemed to work just fine. On the other hand I only played for about a year, because my tech teams were absolutely shi..y:p

Thanks for your support.

ps. Game is running stable now. Thanks for help

Two issues I've had in a Japan game:

(1) never got the surrender of China or the fate of China events. Had to annex outright.
(2) My production queues always seem to get screwed up.
(a) Any time I do a serial run of parallel units the last unit serial run gets offset by at least a few days, if not a month.
(b) I had an occurrence where my *entire* production queue was set to zero, and all IC was dedicated to supplies for *three days* straight. Then everything reset to normal. Obviously because of this I lost all my gearing bonuses. I've got it saved, so I'm going to try to go back in time to see if there is anything I can do to avoid this.

Interestingly, in my current Japan game the Czechs refused and Germany DoW, followed by a Polish DoW *before* they joined the Allies. So, the USSR and Germany eventually went to war in late 1939, but the Allies are not at war with Germany.

I like that kind of thing. I have been trying to set it the game up so that any number of a-historical routes are possible in EIR for MP.

I'd say he just got extremely unlucky with the random factor--it can happen. One solution to this is to replace the random factor in the event (3814) by:

control = { province = 1280 data = JAP } # Chongqing.

Then it may take a little bit longer to trigger, but it will trigger.

Hmmmm. I think I may be doing something wrong-I extract the Mod into Doomsday file, yet still have the Beta Patch 1 checksum..... Any help?
