The game is stable since dev fixed the most bug and is on vaction, so I want to know what's the best build for new player now?
I think fanatic xenophile is for sure to make people to like you and rapid breeders, always pick something that boost growth speed, because pop is everything.

And one more question, sometimes when I play oligarchic type government, my current leader isn't in the election poll and he or she will disappear after the election. Is this bug or intended?

Driven assimilators will teach you war and economy pretty well. Its also easymode for the most part.

I personally think that Fan-Auth/Militarist with Barbaric Despoiler might be one of the easiest and best ways to learn the game too (with 5x primitives).

Both are 'easy' because you take someones pops and make them your own; much faster than growing them normally.

1. Fanatic materealistic + Egolitarian, Technocracy + Meritocracy i
The best science build. If you want to build robots - this is you's choice.
2. Spiritualistic + Autoritorian + Xenophobe, Exalted Priesthood + Syncretic Evolution.
The best option for strong economy. And after some time you can start to build megastructures with this build
3. Syncretic Evolution + Warrior Culture, Autoritorian + Xenophobe + Militaristic
Strong economy. Big fleets, What do you need else?

Rapid breeders are overestimated as are med clinics. The bonus is very meer, while it is easy to get 2.0 from mechanist and ~ 25% from policies from the start. It is much more efficient to reduce the amount of pops needed and in early years, before science bonuses kick it, the most needed resource is energy. Alternatively, you might consider adaptive or even very adaptive, since habitability penalties became truly punishing in 2.3, for pop growth too.

Fanatic materialist + militarist, Technocracy + Mechanist/Citizen Service/Warrior Culture, Meritocracy as 3rd option. Don't build labs just focus on alloys and making ships, go as wide as you can, the science directors will more than make up the lack of research labs. Once you're as wide as you can handle then you may start to go tall. Remember that the tallest pyramid requires the widest foundation.

If you are learning the ropes Authoritarian will get you the easiest economy to manage due to Stratified Society. Don't even have to set anything, its on by default if you pick Auth.

Until you are getting into above beginner strats what you pick beyond that is just what you think would be cool.

If you want to get a faster intro to advanced pop management go Xenophobe and Syncretic Evolution. With that you'll have to pay much closer attention to the types of jobs you make. Also you'll need to learn how to manage species rights as you pick up more Xeno slave races.

If you are feeling like going big brain, I ain't afraid of no micromanagement, weaklings I am the greatest! Go with Xenophobe Egalitarian Utopians. With this strat you set your main race to Utopian Abundance. This makes them produce science and unity when unemployed but they cost the maximum consumer goods. Then your goal is to get 3 slave races. The first slave race does chattel slavery working your power plants and mines. The second as domestic servitude which works your clerks and also goes unemployed to provide amenities. The third as livestock to provide the food. This is pop micro hell but damn is it powerful.

I totally agree with xenophobia ethic but Syncretic is a bit too complex for a new player. Have as few pop types as possible is better. Your original pop + robot is fine all the way. I would avoid Slaver guilds too since those lock out a portion of your pop and lead to more management (complexity).

I would suggest going fanatic xenophobe for all the cookies and authoritarian for stratified society (so OP). This way you expand fast and don't care about other species (these factions don't care about xenos).

From my own experience best type of government is an oligarchy. Maybe dictatorial is better but it locks you out of pretty good civics (Exalted Priesthood, Meritocrasy).

Lastly as you play focus on Engineering technologies. Go for Powered Exoskeletons and the Robots. Those are essential. Robots fill base worker jobs thus save your pop to do more important things. Get alloy factories 1st and dont bother with research till you got 2-3 planets

I find xenophile easier, since easier alliances means that you're not likely to get into wars that you can't handle.

Just play Driven Assimilators. Its the most braindead and overpowered empire type you can play. You got casus belly against everyone. That means you can just go to war and conquer everything whenever you want. You are a Machine empire, the most overpowered empire type right now and the recent 2.3 patch nerfed all organic races because of Habitabillty nerfs.

You can give adaptive to your cyborgs so they have 50% habitability everyhwere which is enough. Also Cyborgs are not even affected by habitability malus in terms of less growth and ressource output (for whatever reason). Machine empires outexpand everyone right now because you can just colonize any planet you see. And with Driven Assimilators you have the best Machine empire growth and you get 2 species which is very efficient ressource output. You can pretty much do anything you want and do better than any other empire. Its that easy.

You have the best colossus in the game which just takes over planets immediately and ignored any defenses. You only need armiest against Machine empires. Against organics, you need 0 armies with the colossus.

The most hilarious change: Paradox decided to BUFF Driven Assimilators which were already one of the best empires in the game. Cyborgs can live on Machine worlds now. So just turn every planet into a Machine world. Thats easy to do because Machine empires are always drowning in energy credits.

Xenophile swarm you with tons of unwanted species. Thats more like hell. You cant control immigation. Even fanatic xenophobe can get trearies through gifts

Why would a xenophile care about that?

Why would a xenophile care about that?

They wouldn’t but a new player absolutely does!!

Many of these a poor suggestions. They aren’t really based on a “ease ya into it” point of view but what’s strong right now.

Xenophobes are probably more up the ally of NEW players if more situations but the question needs more context.

While dealing with the broken faction system has me telling people to avoid Spiritualist as they are the most affected, beyond that, new players should play something that speaks to them. I’d HATE to play Xenophiles the first run, and didn’t play them my first run. In particular when playing an Alien species, it’s sometimes fun to play the aggressive lizardmen that eat their foes after battle, and this game not only allows you to eat them but breed and trade them like cattle!!

To put this shortly, it’s better to have a short list of “things to avoid for now” a first run then a short list of “play this until”.

Why would a new player care about that? I didn't.

Edit: the best thing about xenophile is that you just let the pops go where they want to go. No tedious micro.

Plain machine empires are easy to play as well. Just give them rapid replicators and rock breakers. You dont have to worry about habitability, consumer goods, and food.

You can have minimal diplomacy, but just enough to start getting used to the game.
