Campaign #13: Florence -> Tuscany -> Italy -> Roman Empire (Flavor Universalis)

And I returned to Europe. This time, I decided to try something in Italy. I picked Florence, which mission tree provided by PDX Big Boss in Flavor Universalis mod looked very interesting!

While Flavor Universalis is not updated to base game version 1.34 due to mod creator working for Tinto, I used my modding skills to bring it to a state where the mod was very playable with 1.34. And this was a good decision, as Florence was an extremely fun campaign with a great mission tree!

After mostly completing the Florentine mission tree, I formed Italy, and... I was pretty disappointed with the Italian mission tree from the Emperor DLC. Nevertheless, it guided my future expansion towards forming the Roman Empire, the formation of which was my final goal of the campaign.

My subjects at the end were: Geneva, Paderborn (vassalized to complete the "Return His Legions" Italian mission) and Gazikumukh.

For my next campaign, I will most likely once more play Ante Bellum, which will release a Rus mini-update soon!

Finished my Yuan campaign I was able to obtain #1 Great Power for the slightest amount of time until Spain went full Crusade on the Portuguese colonies that had been released.
Could have easily crushed the Ottoman invasion attempt but I couldn't be bothered battling with the extremely slow speed the game was running at.

Finally got a good start with Inca, and I will have to thank Portugal since they blocked Castille from ever getting their claims on me so I didn't have to worry about storm troopers rushing me at 1500.

I would have ended it 30 years earlier since i finished everything I wanted, but then I saw that Germany was integrating Spain so I wanted to see it

Out of my last four games, Austria has been destroyed once and in the other three formed Germany and crushed everyone.

Starting as the Teutonic Order, I feel like the conquer Germany stuff was done as an afterthought, it doesn't play as well and doesn't end up being as strong if you were to form it with Austria or another German state. I feel like you'd have a much more fun time playing any of the other three options available to you.

Stepp Genoa surviving to the end, that's a new one.
 
One of the craziest starts, Castille was PUed by Portugal and Aragon responded by destroying Portugal, then Castille immediately attacked Aragon for independence it lead to them both been weak which lead to the easiest formation of Andalusia. But more cursed things also happened, France was PUed by Castille so it ended up being a huge blocker at least until France decided to finally break away. Then Castille spread itself literally all over the New World.

Morrocco > Andalusia. Allies: Ottomans, Songhai

Mexico broke out and then got ravaged by France and Britain. USA is a combination of New Denmark and British Louisiana

Starting as Naples, Ottomans even as Turkey are really quite weak against Europe at the end of the game. The Ottomans 1.2M troops got crushed by Germany's 650k they popped out Greece and took a bunch of land from them. That's how I ended up with Greece just grabbed that at the end.

Next game i'm thinking of dominating Asia as Hindustan, forming from Bahmanis

Bahmanis is by far the strongest such a great starting position I had all of southern india by 1490 then it was just a matter of coalition managing to get the rest. Colonized Malaya to lock down trade.

Poland is a really quite poor country at the start but once you become the Commonwealth you spike super hard. Their mission tree is really strong allowing you to grab two PUs on top of the one with Lithuania, It sucked though that once I intergrated Hungary my name actually got smaller lol.

Allies: Sweden, Aragon, France (until Revolutions)
PU: Hungary

It also helps that the Commonwealth crushes the Ottomans like a bug +30% cav combat ability and access to the Cossacks estates

If you manage to survive not being eaten by Poland the Livonian Order colonization path is a pretty chill and fun campaign, with your capital in a colonial region you can avoid having to attack the overlord and colonies are not allowed to have any defenders allows pretty easy expansion.

Couple of fun games below (Byz/Great Horde/Persia)

Great Byzantium Game, loads of fun (I have same dynasty as russia, looking forward to P,Uing 826 dev nation :D )
Not quite sure what to do next, gotta check the achievement to do list. Pretty much started as me wanting to restore ERE borders with this fun nation.

There's an achievement to form the Roman Empire starting as Byzantium so that could be a task. I love your Horde that's brilliant

Yeah, got it already (turns out it's full ERE + Italy and some other stuff.
Was looking more for "out there" type of achiev in the state I'm in :)
Yeah Hordes are nuts man, (with their mechanics + some absolutism I grabbed all of India in 44 years !!!), did great horde here but Kazan,Oirats and Jianzu are also really fun (and arguably better with Kazan NI beeing better than Golden Horde and Yuan Idea beeing S Tiers). Next step wise : Not sure If I go crazy against the protestant or crush the Ottos through quick succession of Truce breaking wars.

I'm toying with the idea of forming the Mongol Empire with the Teutons, I love their sprites

The only two Byzantine achievements I know of are the Basileus and own the entire coastline achievements.

Ye the teutons with the new Mission tree is on my to do list as well, teutonic ==> Mongol empire horde HRE emperor, now that's something :D
