Since it looks like counters are in (YEEEESSSSS!) can Paradox get with some of the great modders out there and put in some good counter art. GIP and DMP have some awesome ones. I'm sure that the modders would cooperate if given primary Beta status when that starts

And no I don't want to wait until a mod comes out. I think that this could be done during programming.

I'm a purist, give me colored counters with the standard NATO symbols and maybe a flag to designate country. BTW - awesome, glad to see counters are still in. They add a lot more realism to the game (what general uses sprites???) and are much easier to read.
