CK2 was a very broad game, which tried to do a lot of things but couldn't complete them all. But can this type of DLC expansion model be used for EU4? Discuss.
the only thing this thread could be is a battlefield between supporters and detractors of "DLC"'s.
This thread needs more Steam and determinism discussion. Might as well discuss the Balkans while we're at it
Don't forget Poland.
Poland invading the Balkans with Steam DLCs is too damn deterministic!
and the SUNSET INVASION II DLC for EU4.
You remember what happened last time you said that? ^^do not mention the aztecs
do not mention the aztecs
It's already been confirmed that it will be the SunRISE Invasion in EUIV. Japanese schoolgirls and giant robots with swords come to claim your lands!
You know, while the big DLCs has generally been about unlocking previously unplayable factions, the bulk of the CK2 DLCs has actually been graphics and music. There is one thing to keep in mind while talking about the new DLC model: almost all of the new features that came with the expansions had to be given for free in order to make the game playable in MP no matter what DLC the players have bought, thus expansions practically only unlock unplayable factions. Could this pose a problem for a game where there is nothign to be unlocked?
Other types of DLCs I can quickly think of: timeline extensions, modding-for-the-masses tools (like Ruler Designer), alternate history scenarios, and save import/export.Also, what kind of DLC could be made for it? Jokes like SI2 aside, that could be discussed.
