What's wrong with the flag?

Colors are depressing and doesn't fit together, symbol is weird, I don't know, maybe it symbolize something but looks like prison grid. But it's matter of taste, of course.

The colors are supposed to be depressing for it's for an oppressive regime, together-fitting is overrated and all symbols are weird by nature (ying-yang, christ-cross, swastika?). Prisons are an essential part of all modern states, especially those controlled by organizations of the style of "Iron Guard". ;)

Like he said.

Its members wore green uniforms (meant as a symbol of renewal, and the origin of the occasional reference to them as the "Greenshirts" - "Cămăşile verzi"), and greeted each other using the Roman salute. The main symbol used by the Iron Guard was a triple cross (a variant of the triple parted and fretted one), standing for prison bars (as a badge of martyrdom), and sometimes referred to as the "Archangel Michael Cross" ("Crucea Arhanghelului Mihail").

May look weird to you, but it's their symbol.

Allies, Industrialization and Rearmament

The first order of Business was to turn the Romanian state into a massive engine of war. This Codreanu deemed necessary if Romania was to take on the Bulgarian and Hungarian armies. The only way to ensure victory would be to Gear the entire nation towards war. So the process began with the Construction of Factory's that would Forge the engines of Conflict.

Greece: A nation that also had the misfortune of being pulled into the Entente with golden promises of Turkish territory. Basically confined to a peninsula after the war the Government of Greece under King Georgios took steps to build fortifications along Greece's norther border to deter Bulgarian aggression. Have good potential as allies if only to keep enemy divisions stuck on their border.

Serbia: Suffered great territorial losses to the Austro-Hungarians after the war. Ruled by the Dictator Milutin Nedic, Serbia has the a similar position to that of Greece with fortifications that can keep an enemy army occupied for quite some time in a war.

You will proably need the help of Greece and Serbia, if you are going to stop that super-Bulgaria? ;)

Not really, Bulgaria has around 30 divisions the time I played with IR. The idiots just concentrated on Constanta and I managed to encircle around 19 divisions there, with only 2 mil+2 inf with art guarding Tulcea and Air raids with 2 bombers.

Oh believe me I plan to dismember Bulgaria and mutilate whats left.

No Rape? Awwww.

Anyhow, I'm dying to find out how you are going to mutilate. When's the next update going to come?

right now. well maybe just a little rape...

Black Monday
Black Monday was an event of catastrophic consequences for the Germans and their trading partners around the world. The German Economic Hegemony that was created after the Weltkrieg was a system meant to benefit Germany, but in the end was destined to fail. The upheavals and wars around the world only destabilized and already fragile system, culminating in the crash of the Berlin Stock Market, in which over nine thousand!!!! stock brokers would kill themselves by jumping out of windows.

In many German colonies this was seen by rebellious local populations as a much needed opportunity to spark resistance.

The Shanquing of China saw this as an opportunity to escalate their rebellion against the Manchu rulers into a full scale war, forcing the kaiser to intervene to protect German interests.

about the flag

for the ones who don't know: it is not thought by the Mainstream Media or the developers of the mod to popularize such a "ugly" flag. that WAS one of the Iron guard's symbols

the green represented renewal, and more or less a copy of the blackshirts

and the bars symbolise the cristian/orthodox faith and martyrdom (also called St Michael cross)

they used the roman salute, like the italians, and they also used the traditional romanian flag, sometimes with the St Michael cross in the middle, replacing the royal heraldic.

historically they did not have a huge succes mainly because Romanian was one of the big winners of the great war, and enjoying a relative prosperity. But they still were on the 3rd place once in the ellections.

One of my professors (who had made fascism and it's forms her speciality) used to say that the Iron Guard was probably the creepiest of the fascist movements, they had some real death-cultish stuff going on.

I'd say that the Nazi's were the creepiest, with their major occult connections. The IG is interesting because it wasn't really right-wing, they were the an early form of the Third Position

They were right that left-right didn't accurately describe politics, but this does:

igplacementfm9.png

national socialism= socialism for only a part of the people, the difference being the origin (race)

the IG made voluntary labour camp for helping farmenrs and stuff like that, they were not cormporatist like the Nazys and itallians
of course they did not get to power very long and when they did they were really messed up by the assasination of thir leaders. so we will never know exactly how the legionary state would look like.

(in any case one of the main problem of the early iron guard was the ethinc distribution of the places in the universities (for example 2% of the places reserved for the jewish community and 6% for the hungarians) the problem was caused by the coruption in the universities and the fact that the jewes got most of the places so the upper lairs of the ecconomy or being slowly forbidden to the romanians because of this) (just a insite of the romanian society in the '20)

and about ocultism... more or less they were orthodox fanatics (you can imagine that some dudes were a little bit weird but there was no doctrine regarding this as well as no funding for manifestation regarding stuff outside orthodox faith), in any case this is a doing of the capitalist propaganda in power and the western world.

Very cool! I'm all over this. I'm just now learning about the Iron Guard (for my own separate research) and will be following this closely!

not to mention that many (future) intelectuals were supporters

My oppinion is that the IG was one of the only authentick national socialist group. Of course the narrow minded orthodox thing makes it a little undessirable. along with the green:D

in any case the things that the iron guard is blamed for happened AFTER the assasination of the IG leaders, and it was a (haotic) response to it.

Romanu: If you were to chose between Super Baldy or the IG, you preffer? :D
