In Spanish, at least, it's pronounced pretty similar to "Walakia", and the non-Western Europe place's names usually are simmilar in both languages, so I assume it's "Walakia"

I've always been pronouncing it vuh-LAH-kee-uh for some reason... Strange. Some sort of German-Latin mixture. I suppose I ought to be pronouncing it "wuh-lachiuh" or something.
