I'd like to nominate 'Of Blood and Honour' by BlackBishop.
BlackBishop presents his story in a very interesting voice, that of an old man descended from the House of Hwicce and telling the story to an unidentified 'young man', intriguing me as to their identities and also the story itself is quite exciting, filled with sieges, political intrigue.
