Revolution Rises in the East
Chapter 3
-The full annexation of these nations would be a betrayal of all we stand for! The people of Asia need freedom from capitalists and imperialists!
-And who better to give it to them than the one nation in the world that follows the words of Marx and Trotsky?
-They need liberation, yes, but if we simply annex them are we any better than the Empire we replaced?
From the minutes of Japanese Politburo, 28 May 1936
The following is a short clip from a newsreel appearing in Japanese theaters in June 1936:
Arise, Workers of Japan! We bring you word of the International Proletarian Revolution!
Japanese forces have taken the Liaotung Peninsula from the pseudo-Imperialists of the Fengtien Republic! Yes, the progressive forces have landed in both Transamur and Manchuria. In the waters nearby, the Japanese People's Navy crushed an attempt to halt the worker's liberation.
Abroad, the Workers are not as lucky as they are in our Glorious Socialist Homeland. In Bengal, the government--which claims to be socialist, but is nothing more than Western Syndicalism--did not redistribute the land to the people of Bengal. Their doctrine is without Marx, and thus the workers and peasants of Bengal must suffer.
Since the seizure of the Liaotung Peninsula, the forces of the People have managed to push the forces of the Oppressors back in every encounter. After a month, the only major city remaining in their grip was Harbin! The Proletarians throughout Manchuria are being freed from the Capitalists!
After Harbin fell earlier this month, the leaders of the Fengtien Republic have seen that the will of the people is strong. They have surrendered! With its forces surrounded and its people being liberated, Korea will be next, and soon!
On the other side of the globe, the Capitalists of Europe have gone on the offensive against their workers! Reactionaries relying on religion--the opiate of the masses--to oppress their people with an economic alliance of capitalism!
The People of Manchuria, Transamur, and Korea now have liberation and have tasted the glory of the International Revolution. But the Imperialists do not wish to see their thrones--built upon the People's work--taken away from them. The dastardly Chinese Empire has declared war upon the Japanese People's Republic! They wish to halt the Revolution!
