if russia makes it into france will france launch nukes?
Is the Us Germany nuclear weapons sharing agreement incorporated into this game?

and how many nukes are given to the nuclear capable countries in the nuclear action events?

I don't think so as Mobius wants to keep at leas this war conventional (which in my opinion means it will not be a war to the knife...)

@Sethanon: If you think thats bad, wait until you see what the Dutch army does later.

@Razgriz 2K9: Just be glad they won't look like this:

:D

@Herbert West: Surprisingly that is not the case. Europe's armies are simply being ground down in the face of massive Russian army firepower, thanks to tons of division sized units of both mech and motorized infantry. The Russians also have tons of armoured brigades and quite a lot of air cavalry brigades, not to mention a massive pool of manpower. Europes forces do not have the firepower to hold the lines in the face of relentless Russian attacks, which inflict massive casualties and grind NATO's European forces into annihilation.

@Asalto: Well, i am not sure they will get to keep everything they get in this war, however they will get to keep lots of it. I am thinking I may in the end either let them keep Burma/Myanmar as a puppet state led by Aung San Suu Kyi with some border regions given to Thailand or I may just let them annex all of it. Cambodia is going to remain Thai from now on though, that much is confirmed. As for Vietnam.....

@SovietAmerika: The whole situation is pretty interesting isn't it. Reminds me of what happened in the USA in my old AAR, Czar Putin. When Russian forces were invading the southern United States, the American defenses were made up of an odd international mix of Mexicans, Brazilians, Colombians, Central Americans, and most absurd of all: Indonesians! Thats right, the Indonesian army had emptied its homeland to send the bulk of its army to defend the Southern USA, quite the sight to see that was.

@ZwolscheStudent: It would be an amazing film, but you know that being hollywood (in wartime no less) it would probably turn into a big propaganda thing where the Mexicans, Canadians, and Dutch were replaced by American troops or something.

@red1: Very good question, which of course raises the whole issue of how the war in Europe will end. IIRC, real life French Nuclear weapons doctrine states simply that if you invade France: you get nuked. End of story. On the flipside of course, Russian nuclear weapons doctrines are similar, if you invade Russian territory: the Russians nuke you. I hope I do not spoil much by saying this, but nobody should expect a totally decisive victory for either the Russians/SCO or NATO/EU in Europe. There will probably not be a Europe where Russia controls everything from Lisbon to Warsaw, or a Europe where the EU manages to turn things around and march to the Ural's or something. How the war in Europe ends will depend on how willing either side is to continue fighting before coming to the bargaining table, and lets be honest: Europe's position is not looking good, especially with what happens later.

@everyone else: Thanks for the comments!

On the Korean front, ROKA forces have reached the Yalu River. Pyongyang has fallen, and the KPA has fled to its final strongholds in the mountainous northeast of the country. However, the KPA is not surrendering. Kim Jong Il and his followers have all fled to the region with the still very massive KPA, setting up what is being called the North Korean National Redoubt in the areas of the country they still control. Holed up in the mountains, making use of huge systems of fortifications, and still in control of hundreds of thousands of fanatical heavily armed and indoctrinated KPA soldiers, the North Koreans are preparing to hold out to the very end, to the last bullet and the last soldier if necessary.

In the Middle East, Iraq is falling away. Iranian troops have burned through American defenses and taken control of Baghdad. Tens of thousands of American troops have either been killed or captured by ECON forces, along with massive quantities of heavily advanced American military equipment. Now, the only force left in the country to resist is the small Royal Kuwaiti Army. The Kuwaiti forces are massively outnumbered, possessing only about a dozen various mechanized and armoured brigades, with little remaining manpower left to draw from their limited population. However, the Kuwaiti's are America's only hope to be able to hold southern Iraq long enough for American reinforcements. Although intimidated by the task, the Kuwaiti army digs in along a line from Kuwait city to Basrah, to try and hold out for as long as possible in the face of relentless ECON assaults.

The status of the European Front, June 27th, 2009. Things continue to look very bleak. Russian forces continue their march deep into Germany, while also moving strong into the Balkans and Scandinavia. Austria has surrendered, and Croatia is set to be next. The Free Romanian Army, which had been trying to hold out in Southern Romania, has finally surrendered after being relentlessly shattered by powerful Russian attacks. Further south, Turkish forces are finally breaking through NATO lines and invading Greece. In the region however, NATO is proving to be a difficult opponent. NATO counterattacks have resulted in the liberation of Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, as well as the conquest of much of southern Serbia. Unfortunately for NATO, such counterattacks have spent huge quantities of vehicles and manpower, losses they cannot afford. Finally, in Scandinavia, Finland's defenses are falling apart. Finnish resistance has been isolated to a string of coastal towns and cities, all of which are under siege by Russian forces, and not expected to hold out for much longer. To try and hold the lines in Finland, desperately needed NATO forces have been relocated there from the main German frontlines, which have resulted in NATO being unable to hold the Russians decisively in either front. If the Russians can break through in Scandinavia, not much stands in their way between Finland and the Fjords of the Norwegian coast.

Back in Asia, Japanese forces in the northern Philippines launch their counterattack against Chinese forces that have occupied northern Luzon. Severely weakened by Japanese air bombardment, the Chinese do not put up very heavy resistance. Within a matter of days, Japanese infantry would clear out the last pockets of resistance on the island and bring the entire region back under Japanese control.

On the South American front, things are not looking too great for the socialist ALBA alliance. The coalition allies of Colombia, Peru, and Chile have proven to be far more resilient than originally thought. Despite some losses in troops and territory, they are still holding their ground. In Argentina, Britain's invasion of the country seems unstoppable, smashing Argentine and Brazilian forces wherever they put up resistance. To the north, Colombia's forces are fighting bravely against massive combined assaults by Ecuadorean, Venezuelan, and Brazilian troops. Peru is on the offensive, attacking eastern Ecuador, while Bolivia has finally realized its national dream of reclaiming its connection to the Pacific ocean, something they had lost all the way back in the 1870's to Chile during the War of the Pacific.

In Central Asia, Chinese forces march into Kabul, while Iranian troops seize Kandahar. Afghanistan is forced to surrender very soon afterwards.

On July 4th, 2009, Finland is finally forced to surrender. Russian forces proved to be far too strong to hold back, and one by one, Finland's last units were isolated and smashed by Russian forces. What units escaped destruction abandoned their heavy weapons and fled into the vast forests, to continue the fight as partisans. Finland's surrender now opens the rest of Scandinavia to Russian invasions, with Russian troops already marching into Norwegian territory and preparing to cross the Swedish border into northern Sweden. There is not much NATO has left to stop them.

Back in Southeast Asia, Japanese and Thai troops launch their final, massive, and overwhelming assault on Yangon. This time, supported by huge air support and attacking with far superior numbers, the Burmese defenses crumble away. The main force defending the city, a Myanmar army tank division, is dismantled by punishing air and ground attacks, resulting in the long awaited fall of the city only a short while later.

As Japanese/Thai forces storm Yangon, the Japanese navy makes contact with a rather sizable Chinese navy fleet that is trying to run the Japanese blockade of Nha Trang and Ho Chi Minh City. The fighting however takes place during a raging thunderstorm, which prevents the carrier Ryujo from launching its fighters into action. After some inconclusive engagements which result in little to no casualties to either side, the Chinese withdraw their fleet.
camranhbaybattle.png

However, Japanese commanders are in for a bit of a shock, when they realize why the Chinese were trying to run the blockade. Their ships were heading into the Gulf of Thailand, with their goal of providing support to a surprise Chinese invasion of the Malay Peninsula. About 45,000 Chinese marines are able to come ashore, brushing aside the local garrison force of 5000 Thai marines that were guarding the area from such an attack. Like in Luzon however, the Chinese do not have any air cover. Japanese fighter-bombers are diverted from southern Myanmar and ordered to pound the Chinese beach-head around the clock. Eventually, this invasion is halted and the Chinese forces are annihilated, finally being driven back into the sea by Thai/Singapore army reinforcements.
chinesemalaysialanding.png

Further north, in the skies outside of the Japanese home islands, Japanese fighter pilots continue to hold out in the face of constant enemy air sorties that are trying to gain control of the local airspace and stage air attacks on Japanese targets. The Chinese and the Russians are hurling everything they have that can fly into these battles, hoping to wear down the Japanese Air Force. On this occasion, the intruders are a large formation of Chinese J-7 fighters, a Chinese produced version of the old MiG-21 and no real threat to the advanced F-15's the Japanese air force are flying. The Chinese are easily driven away, having lost a number of aircraft with little Japanese losses.

Soon afterwards, Japanese admirals stage a massive carrier raid against the North Korean port city of Hamhung. The goal of this attack is to wipe out any enemy vessels docked in the port, and to also destroy as many aircraft on the ground as possible. The Japanese carrier fighter pilots are very successful in attacking the enemy ships, which consist of some heavy Russian transport vessels and KPAN ships, but are unable to cause much damage to the enemy air forces in the region, since they are protected by heavy concrete hangars as well as bunkers that have been dug into the mountains of the region.

As Japan's navy struggles to completely purge the region of enemy naval presence, they are getting help from Japan's western allies. Large numbers of destroyers and frigates are arriving in the pacific from countries like Canada, Australia, Germany, Spain, France, and other allied countries. The British have even sent some of their light carriers to the region, such as the HMS Illustrious, and the French at one point deployed their main carrier, the Charles De Gaulle, to the region with some escorts. Hopefully, the enemy naval threat in the region will soon be over, allowing total freedom of movement to Japanese forces throughout the western Pacific.

In West Africa, the Nigerian War Machine is still on the march. Chad is the latest country to fall to Nigerian forces, with some help from ECON ally Sudan, which has annexed the Central African Republic. However, Nigeria's march seems to be slowing down. After annexing Burkina Faso, Nigerian forces were driven out of the country by a combination of Malian and Senegalese army troops. Only a short distance south, Cote d'Ivoire's army, with some other West African reinforcements, have stopped Nigerian troops from crossing the border and marching on Abidjan. Finally, Cameroon is continuing to hold out despite powerful Nigerian attacks and tremendous military pressure.

Back in Asia, on July 10th, Myanmar finally surrenders to Thai and Japanese forces. General Than Shwe, military dictator of Myanmar, is captured in a non-descript town in the Irrawaddy delta. He is immediately detained, and sent to a Thai military prison to await his fate.

Seems like Japan's foothold on Northeast Asia will have to come through the breakthrough of the ROK into Manchuria, where they would probably tie down the PRC/Russian forces for Japan to hit Vladivostok. This should be very interesting indeed.....

Well this world sure is chaotic. You know, if it wasn't for Japan, America and her buddies would be in an even worse situation. May I move to Singapore when the US falters after the war please?

What the Americans need to do if they want to win this war is forget about Iraq, eliminate Cuba to prevent a repeat of the Cuban invasion, and then send their entire army to Europe to try and hold back the Russians.

Yeah if the Americans continue with their Imperialism in this war then it will end up with their downfall.

Imperialism-no

but i agree america must invade cuba.

I am surprised that america has not initiated any form of reforger. Is the whole army in Iraq?

You should see if you can't create a pocket and trap those divisions near India. It looks like the perfect place for a wee encirclement.

That's what I thought too Red, I mean if they focused on the middle east of course they're home soil will be invaded.

Nice to see Britain doing well, the ALBA are under severe pressure. The only way they could seriously impact the outcome of the war in my opinion, is if they take the Canal. They may however already have done so because of their landings in America (which have probably scuppered any hope of the Americans sending troops into Europe now)...

I hope the USA will have a massive amount of troops ready for deployment soon. Their army is so small if they cant even keep some at home for defense. Sending it all to Iraq would cause a massive revolt all over the USA irl, especially with Cuba around.

The Americans should focuse on taking out cuba and then brazil to put and end to the ALBA alliance, of course they should aid europe against russia by sending troops to Scandinavia and Germany but their priority should be to invade nigeria to put an end to the SCO in western africa and bulk up Ethiopia and Iraq.

Then, when sub-saharan africa is firmly in NATO hands they could launch an invasion of north africa when other us and kuwaiti forces are tying up ECON in Iraq, and then invade the rest of the middle east, which will free European forces from guarding the mediteranean coasts. and then put pressure on SCO member Turkey and southern russia through the cacasus.

Their latin american allies and Canada should send all troops they can spare to Europe to aid against the russian onslaught.

How did China get that ungodly amount of IC?

That is ... that is just wrong.

Maybe he can bleed China's manpower dry.

I can't even say that with a straight face.

Oh now you're just being mean... :p

As for the scenario, Europe is f'ed, plain and simple.

Just keep pushing into Southeast Asia, and you'd be able to hold your own as Europe collapses around themselves.

HURRY! We must cheer on Japan with catchy J-POP!
