i download the mod seem amazing, i want start some campaigns first with germany then other, waht difficult i set? normal normal? then some tips for germany, thanks, last question there are events post WW 2? if i play germany urss or the allied? thanks all
 
@DrBob I found the following error that's causing a CTD:


ERROR : (Missing = in statement.) '1 = -' Line = 340 file = Mods\AIO (DrBob)/ai\switch/USA_invadeSea.ai

Line 340 reads:

67 = -1 # aio gold

I'm guessing that's supposed to be the name of a province on the Atlantic Wall after the # since all the entries above and below that identify provinces.
Hi, thanks, that line seemed OK, but the line above it had a space between the "-" and the "1".

I have not been modding of late but I do want to put one more out. Been working on china and japan. I think I have it balanced. Worked on D-DAY.

I looked back some and didn't see any other issues except this one, let me know if there are others.

Has anyone posted about a problem with this mod loading the save? I love this mod and want to play it. But I'm getting negative feedback. Is any of it legit?
My saves load without any issues. There's a rare crash every now and then, one of which I posed above. But it's pretty stable. I just don't understand why AI Soviet Union is so weak and gets crushed by AI Germany in about a year. It definitely needs a boost to its research though.

Thanks! Maybe it has to do with multiplayer saves, as that was the discussion we were having.

@DrBob I found another error that causes saves to CTD. The savedbug points to the AI switch file titled "usa_Nafrica" on line 110. I reproduced lines 109 and 110 below since it might be both?:

752 = 1500 AIO Gold

757 = 1600

I think those entries probably need a beach province to direct the American AI to invade. Not being much of a modder myself, I just deleted both lines and the save loads without any issues now.
 
I am having trouble unzipping the AIOGE file. I start the extraction/unzipping but always stops part of the way through stating it could not finish. Has anyone else experienced this?

Tested it today: using the download link in the very first post and unzipped it with 7zip (free good compression program for win/linux/mac which can also handle rar-files, although its own 7zip compression is superiour and recommended)...

1) Testing: ok
2) Unpacking: ok
(takes quite some time which isn't unusual due its size: 1 GB packed > 4 GB unpacked)
3) Running it with DH, starting as "German Reich": ok (takes a while to load on my old computer... time enough to appreciate the addition of more/new quotes like "South Africa gave up its nukes willingly." A real time fact commonly overlooked or not known... the reasons for giving them up aren't that altruistic, though.)
Actually, sometimes, this time again, I get a graphical glitch when starting DH the first time (not AIOG related), which is easily enough resolved by exiting and restarting the game. A probable cause is me getting impatient and tabbing out of the loading screen which seems to cause problems sometimes.

Starting image should look like this:

Size on disk: 4,18 GB (4.491.710.464 Bytes)

I just checked the file sizes and what I have are smaller than what you posted, there must be a mor current version that what I am downloading. Would you mind posting the link to the latest version?

Different sizes on disk might be also caused by different operating systems, file systems and how big each block on disk is defined.

The rar size (pure file size, not on disk): 1,09 GB (1.178.832.356 Bytes)

Really great mod but as the UK my auto convoy doesn't work properly

I have over 4000 transports and places like Gibraltar, Malta and Ceylon have no supplies running to them even though they have Garrison units that need supply

I've even tried deleting and setting up the convoys again but it ends up the same way

Any ideas

Could you describe what exactly is happening or rather not happening "auto convoy doesn't work properly"?

There is a colour code for convoys if I recall correctly and perhaps this could be the problem?:
green: depot has enough supplies + oil (as defined in misc.txt, default: 7 days) => no convoys needed for the moment
white: convoy will be sent as soon as enough convoys available
red: depot has not enough supplies => convoy will be sent as soon as enough convoys available

So it might take a while for the auto convoy system to work down all the depot requests. How much supplies/oil for each depot is needed, size and path of convoys is calculated at each midnight tick... not before.

The AI, in my experience, is rather bad in sending also enough escorts, though, because it only reacts to attacks instead of being able to anticipate them.
Another problem is that the auto convoy system will usually only send the minimum amount of needed ships to service the line (calculated by number of crossed sea regions) ... if this minimum number of ships isn't reached because a few of the convoys got sunk the whole convoy might fail and no supplies will be delivered at all.
In practice this means: on a long route from UK to Singapore for example you need quite a big minimum number of convoys to even enable the route and the AI might use all those ships to only deliver those 8 supplies the depot is shy of having enough for 7 days.

As a very micro-intense workaround to better protect your convoys and also to handle a shortage of convoys: switch settings to auto create/delete routes but set the number of sent convoys and escorts to manually. This allows to send much bigger convoys which are more efficient and with sufficient escorts which significantly lowers the number of sunk ships by raiders. If one is forced to do this manually I strongly recommend to raise the number of days a depot should last to something like 30 days within misc.txt... for the UK, though, with her multitude of depots and routes all around the world this is a horrible hassle.

It seems to be that the AI won't recognise 1) When a unit needs supply eg Gibraltar Garrison out of supply but AI wont set up a supply convoy 2) When a convoy does run it doesn't carry enough.
I've been playing AIO for years and never had this issue - which files does the AI use to work out convoy's etc
