What is the build time of those Attitudes cruisers? Is it practical to build out the fleet with quite a bunch of them, paired up with 2 jump capable ones for a smaller Cruising force?

Because it is cooler to fight with cruisers than fighters (albeit that the fighters have proven very effective.)

They take a bit over two years to build... which is quite reasonable. Our Battlecruisers, which have exactly the same armament ... size-6 x 8 + size-1 x 6 ... take six months longer to build.

I am planning to bulk out the fleet with a bunch of non-jump ships, yes... we already have four non-jump Hero-II-NJ Battlecruisers under construction, and as soon as these three non-jump Attitudes come off the ways I will be laying down three more. I have also laid down three more non-jump Destroyer Escorts (for a total of nine so far).

The non-jump vessels are of course all fine and dandy, but I can't quite lose the mental image of half the fleet being stranded in some god-forsaken hostile star system parseks away from home just because the first few lucky salvos of enemy missiles happened to target the jump ships...

One jump ship can get any number of ships smaller than it through. They'd have to take out all three of a fleet's Hero class CBs to strand anything, and even then it'd only be the fleet carriers - everything else would still escape if we wanted.

Correct. Each fleet (first and second) has three Heros capable of jumping any ship 20,000 tons or smaller, three Battles capable of jumping any ship 15,000 tons or smaller, one Admiral capable of jumping any ship 14,000 tons or smaller, and three Attitudes capable of jumping any ship 12,000 tons or smaller. Thje opponents would need to knock out half of our fleet to strand any significant number of ships... and even then, the other fleet could arrive fairly quickly since all fleet elements now move at over 7200 kps.

@ Cpt Kiwi: The Attitude-III-NJ Light Cruisers ESN Frenzy, ESN Berserk and ESN Homicidal have now been launched... any preferences? I assume that you don't want to wait a couple of years for ESN Vexed, ESN Peeved and ESN Hissy Fit.

ESN Berserk will do me just fine :)

In a couple of years time, there'll probably be bigger and better openings with the way we're expanding and the old guard are retiring.

Regarding personal stats... While I would like to see mine, I would even more like to hear what my marines have been up to.

You have been promoted to Brigadier-General. Combat bonus +21%, Born Leader, Aggressive, Highly Educated.

Your Marines are back on Earth for R&R (where they were replacing casualties from the assault on Pyrrhus Station). The 820th is awaiting a new assignment... Earth is a good spot to wait, since the Troop Transports and Drop Ships are docked there, allowing you to board ship immediately if something comes up.

I could send you to Lacaille 9352, where we are digging up some ruins, but not much has been happening there; only one robot attack so far.

I think we should expand it to a brigade btw. With me in command of course.
and let the non-awesome soldiers handle the small stuff. Us marines are much better then that. We get dates with stars, because we are marines.

What is my current rank, posting, and stats?
