Yes your first chapter counts as the first of the 5 necessary.

Who knows what the judges will decide, tastes differ widly, so no reason to be pessimistic.
And even if you dont win anything, you still did your first AAR and i hope you had fun with it :)

I cant wait to see who will win too, i allready know what the *mysterios silence* - secret prizes are.
But i will only announce them with the winners :D

I am completly astounded by all your enthusiasm and your writings!

I would NEVER have even guessed that i would get 21 pepole willing to sign up for this contest, THANK YOU!
Thanks also to my dear Judges that have volunteered to judge for me, and whose work is now about to begin!

I will have to rework the points formula for my judges again, because we had so many last minute signups,
so there will be soon a new adapted points formula for my judges (i will notify you by PM!)
I will also update the Overview posting again shortly.

I really dont know why so many pepole waited till the last chance to sign up, but oh well thank you anyway! :)


The Judges Situation has also changed.

I had some that didnt had any time to judge any more,
so i decided i will sign up additional judges, and more of them.

Because more Judges means more tastes, and so also more variety in points given out.
I hope this will lead to a more fair spread of points.

I have 14 Judges now that allready started their work!
And i myself will refrain from judging, now that i have a good ammount of judges.

The signup for the community judges is also closed now,
I had 2 pepole sign up voluntarily as community judge, thank you especially too!

I really hope everyone had fun so far, i certainly did! :)


EDIT:
I also think my contest really got this fairly new AAR Forum going,
i hope it will keep on buzzing with interresting and awesome AARs
even after my contest is long done and forgotten :)

Overview Update - 08-11-2010

NEW! Overview Update: lets see how our 20 AAR´s are doing (as on 15-11-2010)




Please note that i will take AAR´s that dont have any chapters, out of the contest after the 15th November. This affects this AAR at the moment:
- RedRoverMan - The Gate of God: Bâbili


Our 20 competitors are making good progress, alot of the new ones still have missing chapters,
get the updates in fast because time is running out, thank you!


To those with missing chapters:
They need to get in before the end of the contest (15th November), so get your updates going!
Every missing chapter will give you -20 Points from your total score!

About the chapters that are eligible for judging:
I automatically assume you want ALL your chapters judged if you have more than the 5 neccesary for the contest.
If that isnt the case, please let me know, so i can correct that and communicate it to the judges!

All chapters after the 5th need to be according to the rules if you want them to be judged!
If only one is not according to the rules it will exclude all chapters after the 5th from the judging.


Please note: Edits to posted chapters!

Please dont edit any of the chapters you posted before the 1st November 2010 after this date, because judging will be allready in process.
Chapters posted after the 1st November 2010 can be edited till 2 days after they have been posted initially, after that they shouldnt be edited any more like the older ones.
This only applys to the first 5 chapters.

If you need to edit anything in these chapters (fixing spelling errors, broken images, ect.) send me a pm, or post in this thread, so i am aware of it, and i will allow the edit if it dosent do substantial changes.
Unauthorized edits to the first 5 chapters after the 1st November 2010 will get -5 points substracted from the total score.

I updated the The Judges Reference Posting! to reflect the situation with now 21 AAR´s.
And i adapted The Points Formula slightly too because of this.

Also i updated the Overview Posting to the current situation :)

Four questions: Can I join this contest with my Iceland AAR ?
Does the prologue count as a chapter ?
Does chancing to this map mod give extra points (is it clever to chance to that mod ?)·
Can I chance the map now (mod the game) ? The game has already started.

And by the way, that is Icelandic and I think I will chance it to more newspaper stile. I tried to add pictures but error just came.
 
I am sorry olvirki, this contest is closed since 2 days for further signups. see post #164
It was open for more than 6 weeks.

As much as i would like to allow further signups and give more time,
every contest has to come to an end sometime,
and this contest has allmost reached its end.

The map mod was/is a requirement to take part in the contest.
You are still welcome to use it anytime tough.
Its useable on a allready started game,
but remember to allways make backups when you replace any files.

Newspaper style sounds good.
If you need help for attatching pictures,
read this excellent guide written by Slan,
it should clear up any problems you have with that :)

The chances arnt THAT bad actually to see maybe a new contest at the start of next year or so.
But lets see when we get there, the road is long till then :)

I updated the Overview Posting again to reflect the situation today at 11:00!

We saw a handfull of new updates on the participating AAR´s, thank you writers!
Go pepole and read them & comment on them :)

2 more AAR´s also now have reached the 5 neccesssary chapters for the contest, congratulations Surume & Poh! :)

I hope to see some more updates tickle in today and in the 4 days that the contest still lasts,
especially from the AAR´s that still need them to be complete for the contest!
