The Reckep : Part 9

Berke's yurt scheme was a complete success. It paid off very nicely for those at the top. Of course the only ones at the top were Berke and the Golden Horde to whom he donated some of his earnings.

Yurt schemes, everybody's favourite get rich quick plan

Boke was forced to admit that the scheme had been very successful. Because of this he put up less fuss than usual when Boke insisted upon fortifying Karabogaz.

Boke was happy to be able to spend some of the money on a few of his favourite things, bright copper kettles, warm woolen mittens and of course a brand new army.

The rest of the money was spent gaining favour with Allah just in case either of the two were to have an accident any time soon.

Praise the Lord

Ever the saviour the Golden Horde continued to aid the Ottomans in their dismal war effort. This time twenty five thousand Tatar men bore down upon four thousand hapless Austrians in the province of Moldova

The Golden Horde's plan of attack in the Battle of Moldova 1565

The battle went predictably. All the Austrians were crushed into the ground where they belong, by the hooves of cavalry. It was a tactic the Horde was now infamous for after so many years of using it successfully upon rebels. Next came the more tedious task of sieging Moldova.

The Horde pauses to liberate Moldova and clean Austrians off of their horseshoes.
The war looked to be possibly reaching a turning point. Still the Ottomans were floundering about but so too were the Austrians. The influence of the Golden Horde might just turn this war around. The biggest risk was that the Ottomans would give up too early.

Still stewing over Berke's yurt scheme Boke yearned for success of his own to match. He therefore began his own rival plan, a steppes scheme.

Lacking the organisation of the yurt scheme in a steppes scheme all the money just tends to go everywhere creating nothing but a mess.
Unsurprisingly the scheme failed to achieve anything but ridicule for Boke. Of course Boke's response was that it would have worked had not all the particpants had the iq of an Uzbek.

There's nothing like a Gift to the State to revive flagging war prospects! Let's have some more yurt schemes, that's what I say. Meanwhile I liked the detailed plan showing the intricate complexities of the Battle of Moldova. The Austrians didn't stand a chance against military genius of that calibre! :D

No no no no no no no - it's not a military tactic, it's a method of fertilisation that the Horde practisely assiduously when it gets the opportunity.

How many Ottoman provinces are enemy controlled? And, great update, as usual Duke!

The power play between Berke and Boke seems to be going all Berke's way. Why do I sense this will be the beginning of yet another great revolt in the GH?

I can see one way how that plan could have been improved: Show the arrow going over the Austrian dot, not just to it :D

Incidentally, who wants to place bets on which of the two remaining Reckep eliminates the other, and when? ;)

EDIT: And is that an update without a revolt? *gasp*

Farquharson - It certainly was nice to get that gift then. I hope Berke does begin some more :D

stnylan - Yeah thats it, the Golden Horde always concerned with agriculture.

Grundius - It actually might be agood thing since it will leave me in the war as alliance leader and I will get a higher warscore without them in it.

Saulta - Cheers, the Austrians currently control two OE provs and the Venetians one IIRC.

jwolf - True I think he also has the higher military rating and definitely higher diplo rating :)

Iche_Bins - Its a tried and true tactic for the Horde so why improve it?

Nobegow - Thanks, Austria have two provs and Venice have one.

coz1 - It probably will end in that but given Boke's force of personality it might be him that wins despite all of Berkes wins at the moment.

The Real Deal - It defintely was nice getting a good sum of money like that.

FlorisDeVijfde - They know what works

Specialist290 - I think it may have been an update without a revolt but I believe there must have been revolts in the game.

On the other hand, their dropping out might free up a significant amount of Austrian forces to stomp on you....

Although Austria is unable to reach me since they can only get to me through OE provs, while I can get to them anytime.

That again may be an advantage of course. Unfortunately, they can still defend with their forces. If you could somehow lure their forces into GH territory before the OE makes peace....General Winter would take care of them for you.

Hmmm an interesting idea. I like it but if I can't do that I will be happy to focus on Venice.
