Granada managed to colonise Africa before being kicked out of Iberia and then converted to catholic.

PUs are retained when converting back to Muslim. Flipping back to Muslim doesn't break the PU.

You have to be muslim to be able to form Andalusia, while exiled Granada was converted to catholic. So you'd have to conquer some muslim land for the rebels to spawn anyway.
