Greetings, members of the Paradox Forums and welcome to this Stellaris AAR. Usually, I linger on the CK2 and EUIV forums and many moons ago, I wrote a number of AARS, most of which failed due to a wide variety of reasons such as boredom, broken saves and academic work. Then in 2016, I got massively burnt out on AAR writing at the start of University and put it aside during my studies. I considered continuing writing after I finished my degree, but I was massively burnt out on CK2 and was just not interested or motivated to do so.
But now that has changed, mostly because I’m stuck inside for the moment and need something to do to get through the days, before my Masters starts in September, so I figured I would do a Stellaris AAR with the new Federations DLC on the latest patch.
I had originally planned to do a Star Trek inspired AAR, with all the races being Star Trek inspired. I realised however that that would lead to a game of humanoid races in a vast universe and I wanted a more interesting gameplay experience. So that idea was scrapped, instead I created a motley collection of custom races with varying ethics and ideals and plan to set the game to load them instead of the usual mixture of Stellaris races.
I plan to have an introductory chapter out over the next few days which will serve as introduction to the race that I will be playing as in this AAR. I will say that the race is fantasy based and as such takes influence from various fantasy sources.
With the introductory stuff out of the way it is time to talk about DLC and mods.
DLC:
Federations
Megacorp
Apocalypse
Utopia
Synthetic Dawn
Leviathans
Humanoid Species Pack
Mods:
Expanded Colours:
Flags: Emblems and Backgrounds
I usually play Stellaris with some mods, but given the most recent patch most of the ones I used to use are outdated. In addition, I have not had the most reliable of experiences with them. So, I decided to only use mods that allow me to make a flag I liked for my empire.

One final note, I do hope you enjoying reading this AAR, feel free to give constructive criticism and advice should you wish to do so, as I am a bit rusty in my knowledge of Stellaris's new mechanics
