I've been wanting to try a multiplayer game with my friends but after i bought a new computer and reinstalled it via steam I try to launch and it goes through the opening video but then crashes, no error report no anything the game just stops and after about five minutes says "Arsenal of Democracy not responding". So i tried doing it via the launcher and I get this error report:
See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

So I'm wondering what can be done to fix this.

Had you made any edits to the game beforehand?

I have been playing a 3 player land game of HOI2 and AOD since 2005.

Currently our 3 computers are 1 Vista, 1 Win 7, and 1 Win 8.

I do a fresh boot with all 3 connected to the internet. Then I disconnect the lan from the internet because incoming telephone calls seem to crash the game.

You must be connected to the internet though when booting the computers so that different IP addresses are assigned.

Make sure that each computer has a unique name in the game.

It still is buggy at times for some strange reason but I can always get it to work.

When you say "launch the game" what exactly are you doing to set up multiplayer game? Does each other person have AoD on their own PC at remote locations? Is there any problem running SP game?

I start the AoD game by running game.exe stored in my C:\games\Arsenal of Democracy folder. Please remove AoD installed game from Program Files directory, install to new directory & run game using game.exe file.

Many people get the game from Steam and report problems, but I think I got mine from Gamersgate and I not have problems except for a laptop installation where I have screen resolution difficulty.

Please provide exact details of your (& others) PC, your OS, your directory structure, windowed mode or full screen, what file you run etc, thankyou. Do your friends have the same problem? Someone doing MP the way you are attempting it may be able to help.
