Llywelyn: what do you mean unified Gwynedd 1066? Yes, the duchy is united, with Bleddyn in Gwynedd, and Rhiwallan in Powys and ... the Tentaingl in Clwyd.

Cool. That's what I was looking for.

The version I downloaded didn't have that, but I'll get the newest one...

No, I dont have anything on Nubia but would love to have it.

It's here.

Ok, I dled the newest version and ... um, where do I put the Thumbs.db and ARTO? What is ARTO?

My CK game isn't going to be set on Tatooine, is it?
j.

.blink. why is it an indy file in the .rar?

it should have a .bmp after it and be a COA, right?

EDIT: Bwah! Drachen left a shortcut to a file on his computer in the .rar... :D

thumbs.dd isn't a necessary file

But pretending it did something interesting, where should I put it?

btw, random thing you could add,

I did what?

It's a .lnk file. It's a shortcut to something called "Third Royal Tribe" on your hard drive. :)

But pretending it did something interesting, where should I put it?

I can't check what file it is right now, I am at work. And my boss thinks I am busy writing some kind of financial report ;).

But I guess it are thumbnaill pictures of graphics files, probably coat of arms. So I would put them in the gfx/coa folder

Drachenfire said:
Where did you find it so I can remove it...

It's in the latest .rar. Right inside. It's ARTO.lnk.

It probably doesn't need to be removed; it probably needs to be replaced by a copy of the actual file.

Oh I see! ok... actually this was the Powys duchy coa.

So it's already included and I'm not missing anything. Cool.

Reinstalled it and everyone's where they're supposed to be. It's great. Deheubarth attacked Morgannwg with backing from their allies Leinster (me), Gwynedd attacked and annexed Deheubarth before they could finish their seige of Morgannwg; accepted a payoff rather than bother invading Ireland; and pulled Morgannwg into their orbit as a vassal state. Civil war with the uncle in Perfed; put Dinefwr back in charge in Deheubarth as a vassal; Powys declared their duchy; civil war put an end to that; England got anxious about Gwynedd's dominance and took Perfed but no more after wrapping up a series of wars with their Saxon vassals to the north; and Gwent just hides in the corner and hopes no one notices them.

It's perfect.

Only fault I can find (its minuteness reflecting how good this all is): you forgot to kill off Morgannwg's fertility. He starts unmarried and starts ahistorically having kids, which keeps the county from switching over to his cousin-twice-removed and the line of the lords of Afon. It's ok not to make up a wife (we don't know her name), but he really should be completely neutered.

Nope.

Realized I've got the county of Powys's COA but the duchy of Powys is sporting Artois's off-Capetian heraldry. So you need to put that in.

Also noticed that Rhys ap Tewdwr's relatives also produce heirs, which again, shouldn't be happening...

I decided I am to rewrite the scenario so as to include all the updates in the Beta forum too, as well as the Cornish and Nubian changes. It shouldnt take too long, ill work on it during the mornings.

Again remember to fix Maredudd ab Owain ab Edwin Dinefwr and Cadwgan ap Murig's higher-than-zero fertility. (also, Meurig's spelling :)) Might also help to give Rhiwallon a wife. He got those kids from someplace :)

Biggest problem, though, and a real deal-breaker, is the absolutely bizarre namelist you're currently using. I almost had a duke named Sayer, who had a son named Andras, and the girls are named after their Irish cousins for no reason I can fathom. You prolly used a modern list of Welsh baby names, but it's not accurate for the time.

Every other girl should be named Angharad, Elen or Marared (not Margaret) and the others should be edited. Every other boy should be named Gruffydd or Gruffudd or Gryffydd and of what's left most of them should be Dafydd, Hywel, Owain, Rhys, Madog, Meurig, or Llywelyn. Practically no one went by Dewi (or Rhosen) at the time.

Here's a suggested list I made. Feel free to take out the less common names if you don't like them, - they're all from royal genealogies, but some are from as early as the 4th century and others are saints' names, - but I think they're flavorful:

@Drachenfire

Since you don't want me posting in the Public Beta forum thread

Some things you are posting have already been discussed, by you and others, including Byakhiam

Income of Wales:
This is what Byakhiam said about the income of Wales

Byakhiam said:
Keep Wales at tops 18 points. That's 50% increase and it seems that longer this thread goes, the more points there is suggested for Wales. :D

You are now suggesting to make it 20, that is not how it works. Once something is decided, keep to that decision.

Technology:
This has also been discussed before and an agreement was reached. The technology names are just there for the flavour. Only provinces who really were 'rich, important and advanced' get a higher starting tech-level then others. Your suggestions makes the Welsh provinces more technological advanced then the provinces in England, Scotland and Ireland. Which I very much doubt was the case.

I am not saying that Wales didn't know about, defensive terrain, jongleurs, ascetims, short-bows and divine-duty. But those things were also known in most the rest of Europe but most province in the rest of Europe don't have them either.

Again, stick to was has been talked and agreed about, instead of what you do now.

EDIT
Since now Byakhiam has have to look everything through again and change what hasn't been agreed by the majority. :)

Well, I do expect him to look through it all again. So far Im just copy pasting whats in my game files so far. It is one of the reasons I expect to go back myself and reedit them, and why I asked for no one to post in that forum yet.

But if it continues to be contaversial, then I say let it remain as it is. I dont have to post anything really.

Of these, defensive terrain, jongleurs, ascetims, short-bows and divine-duty, I only added ascetism and possibly Jongleures. The others I think were already there. I didnt add anything military as my focus was squarely on representing the Law Codes.
