Damn that explains the invasion and how an Agriculture Minister became POTUS in Denver :p
That will surely be an interesting ride, just to see how you will secure America and then how you'll try to bring back Freedom to the World ! :D

Well, I guess that is the end to the Obama Presidency. I wonder what the Agri Secretary's Cabinet will look like.

I would believe that Obama would be giving the 'oh shit, WWIII' speech from the White House lawn and take long enough for the Russian sub launched cruised missiles to close in on his position. I can only imagine the secret service was praying for him to just hurry up about it so they can get to da choppa.

I would have gone choppa first, speech second, personally.

The president must be avenged! CRUSH THE CHINESE COMMUNISTS AND RUSSIAN ULTRANATIONALISTS! FREEDOM!!!

It would appear that the Russians have gone so far to the right and the Chinese so far to the left that they have paradoxically ended up at the same political alignment with opposite names

Perhaps it is like Schrodinger's box?

To be fair, that could a make a lot of sense. Both Authoritarian governments, and they both likely support Authoritarian Capitalism, and both regimes would be nationalistic. The only major difference would be the rhetoric they use, and if it a dictatorship or a more oligarchical government like the Chinese traditionally have.

I wonder if the Russians have captured the east coast and the Chinese the west, don't you think the US would have surrendered?I mean the Chinese have endless manpower and a large army, and Russia a large army and substantial amounts of manpower(I think),what do the Amaricans have? The NRA?
Still great update.

Actually, that's exactly it. Due to it's lax firearm laws, America has a gargantuan resistance movement and militia ready to go from the second it's enemies land on the continent. It would be like Vietnam or Afghanistan except a lot, lot worse.

It seems invading American mainland was a real strategic mistake that will probably totally turn the tide of war and trigger massive counter-strike. If enemies were not overamibtious, it would be totally enough to simply impose naval blockade of North America. Eventually, even long-term peace agreement could be made in order to push USA into blessed isolation that would actually suit the large part of population that otherwise plays the role of most devoted homeland resistance. Otherwise most militias seem to be very conservative or libertarian oriented and they might even press their own goverment to retreat from world affairs and thus allow autonomous and decentralized everyday life. Considering that North America is mostly self-sufficient (including oil), it could not only survive isolation but even rise over the global standards (no imports would make home manufacturing bloom). If such recovery would actually happen and no enemy provocations are happening near American mainland, then no rational man would want to fight to recover control over once key regions of Europe and East Asia (not to mention already non-existant Mideast) as such connections were needed for global hegemony but not for self-sufficient soverign nation.

Just a personal request, but if you indeed make Farage a leader, please, please, please, for the love of God, give him one of these for his portrait! :D

Also his rants are always fun.

To: IconofEvil: its funny that you should mention Nadia.

Also, that was indeed Mr.Obama at the US congress, the date at the time of his assassination by the Russians was December 21st, 2014.

To: Tommy4ever: Northern Ireland is to be handed to the control of the new regime Russia puts in place in London. As for the rest of Ireland, they are a neutral state and are going to stay that way. They may have a bit of a role in an entirely different conflict though....

To: Bill1993: America will never bow to the SCO! There will be no quarter to the enemy!!!

To: Jurrz12: although invading a country that has more guns than people is a major challenge, I actually wonder about the combat effectiveness of a bunch of civilians with guns against a huge, well trained, very well equipped, and highly experienced invading army, one that has many elite special forces units and highly skilled intelligence operatives at its disposal.

To: Vanadio: I get the feeling there are going to be alot more rubles flowing around Portuguese tourist resorts!

To: Octosteel Prime: Its actually someone completely different in this campaign.

To: everybody: Thanks for your comments!

World War 3: The End of the Beginning: Part 3

In Asia and Europe, the SCO had proven itself not just an equal to their American and other Western counterparts, but in many ways, they had shown that the SCO was instead superior. On land, at sea, and in the air, the SCO's combined military strength had vanquished their opponents, but there was still the issue of what to do now that they had succeeded so completely on both fronts. While some military and political leaders advocated a simple strategy of containment, hoping to eventually wait the American's out in order to secure their gains, others, especially among China's government, advocated a much more aggressive strategy. The United States had been wounded, its fleets, armies, and air forces had been battered, but the Chinese regime was worried that simply waiting them out would only give the Americans all the time they needed to build up an overwhelming military force that would be capable of reversing all that the SCO had won over the past few months of fighting. Instead, they argued that the SCO had to finish what it had started, permanently. To do this, they would invade, conquer, and occupy the United States itself, and permanently seal the SCO's place as the dominant geopolitical force on the face of the earth. After much debates on the issue among the SCO's top military leaders, the decision was made to carry out this objective and invade the American homeland.

To this end, beginning in late November, SCO naval forces began moving into the western Atlantic and Eastern Pacific, invading and taking over key logistical points necessary to carry out such a task. In the Pacific, the Chinese moved to invade the Hawaiian Islands and seize its critical military infrastructure for their own use. With American logistics in tatters, much of the Pacific Fleet destroyed, and ports all over the Pacific coast being raided already by sporadic Chinese submarine missile attacks, American commanders made the very tough decision to withdraw military forces from Hawaii in order to defend the homeland. The remnants of the Pacific Fleet were ordered to hide in Australia, unable to hold the line in the open ocean against the far stronger Chinese navy. US troops sabotaged whatever critical assets in Hawaii they could before they ran out of time and left to join the rest of their forces in North America. Chinese marines then took the islands, and began preparing for the arrival of huge numbers of follow on forces. To the north, the Chinese launched a similar offensive on the Aleutian Islands chain in Alaska, occupying them after several skirmishes with small numbers of American defenders. In the Atlantic, the remains of the US Atlantic Fleet withdrew to safe harbours along the Gulf Coast after several ports along the eastern seaboard were attacked by Russian missiles. At the same time the Russians took Greenland, blowing up American early warning radar stations positioned there, and occupied Bermuda after a short battle with the islands garrison of local troops and a small amount of US marines. Then, the Russians took the very important step of invading Newfoundland, a prime strategic location for both sides which if taken by the Russians would give their forces a perfect staging point for further invasions. US and Canadian forces fought bitterly to hold Newfoundland from the Russian invasion, but unfortunately their units were either pushed back or destroyed entirely. US and Canadian air forces especially took a major blow from the fighting in Newfoundland, where the Russians deployed large numbers of their best aircraft and pilots to gain air superiority. With the added support of ground based Anti-Aircraft weapons and carrier based fighters, the Americans were forced to withdraw, having lost many fighters and bombers in the fighting. With Newfoundland in Russian hands, the SCO had now almost completely boxed in the continent, and the situation looked dire.
ww3na_Copy.png

World War 3 in North America, 1st phase. SCO units secured critical logistical points in order to carry out further invasion plans. Badly outnumbered and heavily damaged, most US navy forces that were still left withdrew to safer ports in the Gulf of Mexico or Australia, in order to preserve them for future counterattack opportunities.

Russian Tunguska Anti-Aircraft gun in action in Newfoundland. The Russians used the island as a way to bait the still formidable American Air forces to fight on terms the Russians could dictate. Large numbers of American planes were shot down by a combination of Russian fighters and ground based AA weapons, giving Newfoundland the nickname: "Graveyard of the US Air Force"
2378.jpg

Canadian destroyer sinking off the Atlantic coast, the entire Canadian Atlantic fleet was destroyed while trying to defend Newfoundland from the Russian invasion.

The SCO now had forces on both sides of the American mainland. An invasion looked imminent. Panic began gripping many areas of the country as people fled the major coastal cities looking to get to safer places in the interior of the country. in Washington, many of the country's political leaders followed suit, but the President refused to leave. Deciding that he needed to be brave for the rest of the country, President Obama decided that he would give a speech, from Washington, in order to reassure the American people that the war was not lost. Despite many of his security detail urging him to relocate inland to somewhere safe like Chicago, St. Louis, or Denver, the President refused, declaring that the sight of the American president running from his own capital would greatly damage morale among the American people, and further imply that all hope had been lost. About half of the members of his cabinet declared that they would stand with him in Washington, while a designated successor along with the rest of the cabinet would be sent to safety in the interior of the country to ensure the continuation of the government should something happen. By then it was December 21st. When the President began his speech on that fateful day, the Russians were waiting. Anticipating such a move, a single Russian submarine had been hiding under the waters off the Virginia coast, avoiding detection by American aircraft and patrol vessels. When the Russians confirmed that the President's speech was live, they fired a single thermobaric tipped missile at the American congress building. Within minutes the missile reached its target. To this day, the President's body has never been found. Whether it was an act of brave defiance of the SCO threat or an act of utter stupidity and arrogance in the face of a very real and serious danger became irrelevant shortly after, as the President's assassination became the signal for the SCO's troops to begin their initial landing operations.

The First shot of the SCO invasion of North America was the submarine launched thermobaric equipped missile that leveled the US Congress and killed the country's president.
vincent_harling.jpg

Secretary Vincent Harling, the most senior member of the cabinet members who had been evacuated to the country's interior before Obama's speech, became the 45th President of the United States after the assassination. Relocating the seat of executive power to Denver, Colorado, President Harling vowed to carry on the fight until America had achieved total victory.
wartime_US_govt.png

President Harling's new cabinet, after relocating the government to Denver. Senator David Becerra of California became America's first Latino Vice President, while other posts were filled by high level figures from the past administration. Former UN ambassador Samantha Power was promoted to Secretary of State, while Jay Rockefeller was made Secretary of the Treasury. The leadership of the FBI and CIA remained unchanged, while the military saw a major shake up with the replacement of many of the Joint Chiefs with promising battlefield commanders who now became the military's most senior leaders.

A few days after the President's death, SCO units from both sides began the invasion of the United States. In the East, thousands of Russian paratroopers and marines, using Newfoundland as their staging point, began landings in the Canadian Maritimes and New England. Seizing airfields and port facilities in places like Halifax, Boston, and New Haven, they opened the door for fleets of Russian landing ships and confiscated civilian freighters to unload tens of thousands of troops and their heavy weaponry. Under the cover of their air and naval forces they massed in these cities and then broke out of their bridgeheads, marching hundreds of kilometres in all directions while fighting heavy resistance from US Army and National Guard troops.
In the East, Chinese forces carried out similar landings not only in the heavily urbanized coastline of California, but also all along the coastlines of Alaska and British Columbia. Furthermore, the SCO declared war on Mexico, following up their declaration with a massive amphibious invasion that conquered the Baja peninsula, which would be utilized as a base for further attacks into Northern Mexico and the American southwest.

World War 3 in North America, 2nd phase. A few days after the death of the American President, SCO units stormed ashore on both coasts, marching deep into American and allied territory despite very heavy resistance.

Chinese paratroopers land in California in the first hours of the attack. American coastal defenses were overwhelmed in the initial invasion, allowing the SCO's troops to secure vital ports and airfields which were used to ferry in enormous numbers of follow up units like tank and mechanized divisions.

American reinforcements rush to the front in order to try to contain the enemy advance. Despite several promising counterattacks, SCO numbers and firepower would allow the enemy to keep advancing deeper into American territory.

pacific_invasion_force_cabinet.png

The SCO had not only sent its most elite units to spearhead their invasion, they sent the best of their military and intelligence commanders to ensure victory. Many of the Russian, Chinese, and North Korean generals in command of the attack on the United States were the architects of the initial SCO victories at the beginning of the war. General Shin Fai, nicknamed "the Anvil" had orchestrated the rapid conquest of Taiwan and Japan, while his second in command, Jang Jong-Nam of the KPA had led the charge that broke the Busan defensive perimeter during the invasion of South Korea. Russia's top generals Shoigu and Gerasimov had been vital in winning many battles all over Europe, while veteran commander of Russian Air Forces General Voychek had been the mastermind behind the neutralization of NATO airpower during the conquest of that continent. Admirals Masorin and Shengli were the ones in command of SCO naval units at the battles of Midway and Biscay, and now coordinated naval support to the invasion of the United States. Finally, former Russian President Vladimir Putin, a highly skilled former member of the KGB and its successor the FSB, had been convinced by the government to come out of retirement and was put in charge of intelligence/counterintelligence operations along the East Coast, alongside the current head of the FSB Nikolai Patrushev.

With the enemy's invasion underway, the United States began throwing everything it had left to try to push the enemy back. Tens of thousands of soldiers, reservists, and national guardsmen took part in ferocious counterattacks against the enemy. Brutal battles unfolded all over California and New England as the enemy continued to push through, despite tenacious American resistance. Despite inflicting some very heavy casualties on the enemy, more and more SCO units kept coming. With massive reinforcements the enemy's troops made very effective breakthroughs. In New England they pushed south and west, conquering upstate New York and swinging south to encircle New York City. Further north, Russian tanks and mechanized infantry marched along the St.Lawrence river, taking Quebec City, laying siege to Montreal, and moving towards the Canadian capital of Ottawa. In the West, Chinese reinforcements, supported by thousands of North Korean troops, overran Los Angles, San Diego, and started attacking San Francisco from the south. Meanwhile Chinese and KPA units also overran most of British Columbia, occupied Vancouver, and then overran all of Washington state. Then, as if things couldn't possibly get any worse, a 2nd invasion wave landed along the Eastern Seaboard in Northern Virginia and along the Florida-Georgia state line. Jacksonville and Richmond were quickly taken by a combination of elite Spetznaz commando brigades and Russian navy marines. Just like in New England, they took the ports and airfields allowing massive armoured and mechanized reinforcements to land and breakout of the bridgehead. With not enough troops positioned in the central or southern sectors of the coast American troops were pushed back. Soon, SCO troops were on the outskirts of Washington DC, and making rapid progress towards conquering the American capital. Meanwhile, the war began to spread over Latin America as pro-SCO proxy states began openly joining the fighting, encouraged by the SCO's rapid advances on the battlefield and what appeared to be the imminent death of the United States. Cuba and Venezuela were the first Latin American countries to join the war, invading their neighbours in Guyana and the Caribbean. Argentina meanwhile de facto joined the war when their troops seized control of the Falkland Islands, while other pro-US Latin American states began reporting border skirmishes with countries that had deep ties to the SCO, like Nicaragua, Bolivia, and Ecuador.
ww3na_Copy_5.png

World War 3 in North America, 3rd phase. Battlefield successes in New England, Eastern Canada, the Pacific Northwest, and the Southeast gave the SCO lots of new ground. Secondary invasions of the East Coast started to unravel American defenses all along the front, while the Chinese and their North Korean allies punched through the mojave desert and rocky mountains with sheer brute force, irregardless of heavy losses. World War 3 also spread all over the Caribbean and started spreading throughout Latin America, as pro-SCO states joined the fighting to seize new territory and position themselves for what they thought would be the beginning of a new order in the Americas.
MW3_NYC.jpg

The Battle of New York City became the largest and bloodiest battle of the initial SCO invasion of the United States. The effort to conquer the densely populated and heavily defended city by the Russians cost thousands of military and civilian lives. In the end, after cutting the city's defenders off from outside resupply and support, the Russians managed to force their way through the toughest American defenses, thanks in part to lots of naval and air support. The New York Garrison would surrender after a final stand in Manhattan against overwhelming Russian military force.

Driven by paranoia over imaginary American coup plots against the country's regime and flush with billions in oil revenues since the devastation of the Middle East in 2008, Venezuela built its military into one of the best in Latin America, equipped with brand new SCO supplied weapons like tanks, fighter jets, artillery, ships, and missiles. With this arsenal, Venezuela embarked on a war of conquest in Guyana and the Caribbean shortly after the initial Invasion of the United States began. Venezuela's army easily conquered most of the places it invaded, before they experienced very tough resistance in French Guyana, which was defended by Loyalist French Foreign Legion units that had refused to accept orders from the Russian installed puppet regime in Paris. Even after most of French Guyana was overrun, guerrilla warfare still continued by Foreign Legion units that hid and attacked from the safety of the Amazon rainforest.
militia1.jpg

American guerrilla's gathering at a camp in the New England countryside. As more and more American territory fell into SCO hands, they found their troops became more frequently harassed by large groups of American partisans. Although this would be a challenge for SCO forces, they were highly effective in dismantling many American guerrilla formations. Civilians with assault rifles would prove to be no match for the battle hardened, highly trained, and very well equipped armies of the SCO, with the Russians and North Korean's especially proving adept at counter-insurgency sweeps and pacifications. A joke even began circulating that so many American guns and so much ammunition were being captured from civilian militia's that they didn't need to ship supplies from Europe or Asia for their troops! Eventually, with massive losses mounting among many civilian militia's, the government began urging those who wanted to fight to join the army or national guard instead, as this was seen as being a much better and effective option for pushing the enemy out of the country.

Finally, as the fighting wore on into late January and mid-February, the SCO's advance began to slow down. By now, more and more American National Guard formations and Army Reserve troops were becoming ready to fight, and gaps in the frontlines began to be filled and solidified. SCO logistics began to have trouble trying to keep up with the advance of their forces, which were finding it difficult to make the kinds of advances they did when they had close access to the sea. Despite this, the SCO troops still made lots of progress. In the west, Chinese and North Korean units reached as far as the British Columbia-Alberta border in the north, before increased Canadian resistance in the Eastern Rocky Mountains forced a halt to their advance. Other Chinese units were halted at the Utah-Colorado state line, while advances further south managed to take Sonora and Albuquerque but could not advance past that. In the East, Washington DC and Ottawa were captured by Russian troops, but their advance was halted soon afterwards after they reached the Appalachian mountains. After several attempts to break through in Kentucky and Tennessee failed, the Russian advance stopped, although they still managed to conquer most of the state of Ohio. Now, the lines began to settle, as both sides stopped to regroup and mobilize more reinforcements in preparation for the next phases of combat.
ww3na_Copy_6.png

After lots of bloody battles and painful defeats, the SCO advance finally halted. The frontlines now stretched from James Bay to the Niagara Peninsula, from Toledo, Ohio to the Florida Panhandle, and all along the Eastern Rocky Mountains from the Yukon down to the New Mexico and Sonoran Deserts. Elsewhere, Cuba and Venezuela had conquered nearly all of the Caribbean, Cuban troops had taken Guantanamo Bay naval base and Venezuelan forces had occupied Puerto Rico, the entire West Indies, and all of Guyana. Russia had also shipped in Cuban troops to Florida, to be given occupation duties over the city of Miami.

American infantry during a skirmish along the front in the middle sectors. The SCO advance, hampered by logistical difficulties and fierce American resistance, finally halted, and gave both sides time to start preparing for inevitable offensives that were definitely in store for the Spring.

It is now March, 2015. The line is holding for now. But the enemy is once again getting ready to continue their unrelenting march over the rest of the country. Much of the United States has been lost, and the remaining American and allied troops are in a precarious position. furthermore, open combat is being reported throughout Latin America, and many of America's remaining allies may not survive the next battles. The odds are stacked heavily against the United States, but the country still has alot of fight in it left. Will it be enough? The answer is sure to come very soon....

Way to stab the Republicans in the back. I'm now rooting for America against the Russian backstabbers.
