Prologue
A long time ago in a galaxy far,
far away...
It is a time of great calamity for the Galactic Republic, as the reforged Sith Empire, having emerged from the shadows with a deadly attack, seems to be unstoppable. Sith victories have been resounding, as the Republic Military, and the Republic as a whole, has been humiliated by an expansive and trained Sith warmachine, capturing Korriban, seizing the riches of the Minos Cluster, and exerting their control over over half of the Outer Rim. The limited successes of the Republic have only served to delay or momentarily exhaust the Sith, and now even the Core Worlds find themselves worried about the ever-encroaching warfront, however, the thought of Sith invasion anytime soon in planets such as Alderaan or Coruscant still seems far-fetched.
The year is 3667 BBY, 14 years since the war began, and the Republic is desperate, urging conscription and increased rates of volunteers to fill their losses. You find yourself swept up in this, assigned, whether voluntary or not, to Arterian Station, a military waystation within the Cirius System, used by the Republic to organize and assign fresh bodies to their respective warzones. You have been given no training, and idea yet of where you shall stationed. What you do know is that the Sith shall not be defeated easily, and that you are being cast into this chaos, engulfed within a galaxy afire...

How To Play
Hello everyone, and welcome to the first ever forum game hosted by me, the e
Signing Up
The first step in joining this adventure will be to post your character using this handy-dandy template:
Name: It's your character name
Age: Must be 18 or older
Race: No droids and please try to make realistic characters (in Star Wars terms), so Hutt conscripts are out
Biography: It's your character biography. No force sensitivity, keep it realistic (in Star Wars terms)

You can pretty much be from any planet, although I expect you all to not make overpowered or super crazy characters, so no backflipping, uberl33t Hutts or super-awesome military warheroes. I encourage diverse and interesting backstories, as well as personality quirks, hot-heads, cowards, and the like. Losing can be fun after all, so they say. Also, to avoid a situation where some players are inherently better, and to avoid this game becoming completely centered on the Force, NO FORCE-SENSITIVES ALLOWED.
IT IS NEVER TOO LATE TO SIGN-UP. Although this is narrative-based, and may focus on the existing crew, if you want in, I'll try to find a way to work you in. Please send me a private message if you are joining the game in progress so we can work something out.
IRC Channel
Perhaps provisionally, the IRC channel shall be #StarWarsGame (of which I have been lurking in since the untimely death of Tapscott's game). This may be subject to change if I make my own, but I'll make it known if that happens.
Link: Coldfront
Channel: #StarWarsGame
Instructions:
1) Use the link provided above.
2) Choose the Flash app or the Java app.
3) Create a screen name; it’s recommended that you use your forum name, if available.
4) Close the #coldfront channel that opens automatically.
5) In the command box, type “/join #StarWarsGame” without the quotation marks.
6) You’re in the chat! Welcome!
Game Mechanics
As far as mechanics go, I am, at the start, going in without cumbersome stats, both to encourage RP actions and so I won't go crazy. However, if in the future we reach a point where stats become needed (you guys decide to enter in the tense world of interplanetary furniture commerce), I will work to try them out.
As far as orders, if you want to do something sneaky or something not involving other people, you may message me orders that I will either OK or roll for, depending on the situation. Please try out player interaction first and foremost, and don't spam me with a crazy amount of order, but I understand the need for secret actions.
General Guidelines
- Pretty standard, no metagaming, powergaming, and the like
- Keep it PG-13, don't get freaky with it, this is an adventure, not a teenage romp. Some romance is fine
- Paradox Rules, of course, apply
- Other common sense rules that I have failed to specifically list out
