A beautiful vassal swarm.

Second phase of the campaign begins in 1502. There's less strategy to consider post-revoke but a lot more micro required.

142.jpg

Timurids first for a quick war.

143.jpg

Ottomans next when the vassal swarm arrives.

144.jpg

TO and Hungary, quick cleanups.

145.jpg

Razing gain is used to fund Admin/Exploration switches.

470.jpg

When the swarm arrives in Asia, Ming is declared on. The gameplay from 1506 can be seen here:

150.jpg

Nomad Frontier triggers early from my having bordered Ming before the war.

476.jpg

Coastal provinces from the Black Sea are demanded for military access and for their Centers of Trade.

151.jpg

Vassals with Asian provinces will enact Golden Age in the Age of Discovery. My Golden Age ends some time in the 1520s.

479.jpg

For whatever reason a few vassals refuse to move their army.

474.jpg

Two Conquistador stacks are sent to the New World to search for the Seven Cities. Spy network is used to steal maps from colonizers.

152.jpg

First colonist send to St. Lucia for coring range.

The war vs. Ming drags on for several years due to distance and the movespeed nerf. Several of their tributaries are declared on in the meantime.

154.jpg

Buryatia and Haixi have the provinces needed for the Manchu shift.

155.jpg

Peace in 1512. New conquests are razed and granted to the swarm. The provinces needed to form Manchu are cored before their surrounding land is given away. Bashkiria and Nogai will be given ports eventually to core Japan.

156.jpg

Astrakhan extends to Tibet.

157.jpg

RM'd a few European great powers in hopes of PUs.

158.jpg

Took around 500 development for myself over 10 years. Land transferred to vassals in peace deals cannot be razed. Vassals also don't have my war score cost reduction. In order to give provinces away, multiple wars have to be kept at 100 war score and full occupation until a time window to peace out every country. Transfer occupation was not used until the very end of the campaign.

159.jpg

Humanist taken third, this is the only choice after Admin. When key ideas are filled the trucebreaks can commence.

160.jpg

Professionalism up to 40%. No mercs up to this point.

161.jpg

Rushed adm tech 10 for the third idea group.

Resume wars.

163.jpg

Targets are Iranian culture minors, Arabia, India, and the Korean provinces necessary for Manchu.

163a.jpg
164.jpg
165.jpg

The micro at this point is no different than an RTS. Notice the hotkeys.

165a.jpg

Increased Centralization and its autonomy reduction modifier will wear out soon. Manchu will form before then.

Every country is peaced out in 1517 for the tag shift.

166.jpg

Professionalism up to 60 now.

167.jpg

The only splendor ability needed from Age of Reformation is Religious Wars, and as soon as possible.

167a.jpg

Only the provinces required for Manchu are cored.

167b.jpg

The second of three tag switches.

168.jpg

Stated development has been kept low for culture shifts and will be reduced further.

169.jpg

Still Kazani ideas.

170.jpg

Free diplomats for more tributaries, though not many can be made at this point.

171.jpg

Loans are used instead of debase to keep power cost down. India will provide merchants soon. The reason for not taking Indian land sooner is because shifting to Manchu moves the capital to Asia, which would remove all Indian trade companies. The capital was moved back to Wallachia on the same day.

172.jpg

Another 1.20 bug, tag shifting as a horde ends the Nomad Frontier disaster.

Vassals will return to Europe during peace. In order to declare war in Asia again they would need to be unexiled. France is declared on as the first Manchu war. Their capital will be added to the HRE and given back.

182.jpg

Forming Manchu moves the capital to Girin which adds Girin to the HRE. The capital is moved back to Europe on the same day. Haixi is then released with Girin as their capital which makes Haixi an HRE prince. One more horde to core East Asia.

184.jpg

A funny bug, banners can only be raised once as Orthodox Manchu. The Consecrate Metropolitan icon replaces the Raise Banners icon after.

185.jpg
186.jpg

England and Scandinavia are declared on to force capitals.

187.jpg

Indian wars. Centers of Trade are prioritized.

188.jpg

St. Lucia is almost colonized. Its coring range is needed for North America.

189.jpg
190.jpg

Unrest reduction with Orthodox.

191.jpg

Humanist almost completed.

192.jpg

Seeing the swarm in action was quite fun.

Mil tech is delayed for more razing gain.

193.jpg

More wars in India

194.jpg

France and Scandinavia almost finished.

195.jpg

Taking Paris and France's CoTs boost trade income.

196.jpg

Provinces can be added to the HRE if they are adjacent to or in the same sea tile as another HRE province. PU capitals need to be added also.

197.jpg

Humanist completed.

198.jpg

629 war score Ottomans, will be worn down very quickly.

199.jpg

815 war score Ming, will also be cut down very quickly.

200.jpg

Orthodox unrest reduction.

201.jpg

State of Manchu.

Second war vs. Ming.

204.jpg

Ottomans too.

205.jpg

Shifting to Zhili culture before coring Ming land for 7 months coring time. This is made possible by removing estates early and keeping stated development low.

206.jpg

After razing and coring, trucebreak. Each trucebreak costs around 100-150 adm and around 60 dip with full Diplomatic idea group. Very profitable.

207.jpg

Repeat with the Ottomans.

208.jpg

After Ming provinces begin coring, switch to Turkish culture.

209.jpg

210.jpg

Greek culture can't be accepted yet.

211.jpg

Trucebreak again.

212.jpg

108 admin cost each trucebreak at -2 stab with 31 OE.

213.jpg

52 WE reduction cost, or 78 per truce break. No trading in sugar bonus yet.

214.jpg

Ottoman trucebreak.

215.jpg

Each war after the first one takes less time to wrap up.

216.jpg

No CB Aztecs meanwhile.

217.jpg

Back to Zhili.

Anatolian coastal provinces are prioritized to release minors.

219.jpg

Warsangali annexed for later culture shift.

220.jpg

The most valuable Ethiopian land belongs in the same culture group as Somali.

221.jpg

Shifts done before every war now that stated development is low enough.

222.jpg

Ming trucebreak again, easy carpet sieges.

223.jpg

Ottomans down to 309 war score.

224.jpg

Ming down to 207.

225.jpg

Waiting for Quinnipiac to no CB North American natives. They moved away after the colonist arrived.

226.jpg

Louisiana CN still possible.

227.jpg

Up to 2700 dev now.

228.jpg

Religious Wars unlocked.

229.jpg

71 professionalism.

230.jpg

Ottomans down to 167 war score. The rest of Anatolian is left alone for now. The coastal provinces are taken to convert and release HRE vassals from. If more of their cores are annexed then more provinces would need to be added to the HRE before releasing.

231.jpg

The lower half of Ethiopia that belongs in the Somali culture groups is prioritized.

232.jpg

Wrapping up India. Even though there's enough TC trade power for merchants in all Indian nodes, collecting is still better at this point. In general, collect until at least 80 to 85 percent trade power in adjacent nodes, the higher the better.

233.jpg

Ming cut down from 800+ war score to 32 in less than ten years.

234.jpg

After Bashgird has been given away, stated development falls to below 20.

235.jpg

Manchurian Mexico forms. Estate loyalty is kept high from assigning estates before releasing vassals.

236.jpg

From taking all of India for myself Hindu has almost caught up to Sunni.

237.jpg

France is declared on again through Poland.

239.jpg

Every minor steals trade power no matter how small they are. It's important to clean up the area asap. Total trucebreaks nearing 30 now.

240.jpg

All wars stopped in 1534. Sunni Persia/Iran/Uzbek are granted to vassals to tweak religious %.

241.jpg

Converting to Hindu is a tough choice. 10% CCR cuts down coring time by 3.6 months for non accepted cultures. But less unrest reduction means less overextension that can be taken at once. Converting to Hindu also means forcing capital is no longer possible. Hindu conversion is too weak. England and Spain have to be fully annexed.

242.jpg

Shiva for CCR.

243.jpg

Balkan and Anatolian vassals released. The capital is moved to Bolu to further reduce stated development.

244.jpg

Most of the Anatolian minors' cores are still Sunni, hence they become Sunni HRE vassals. This is better for feeding them African land.

245.jpg

Louisiana colony finished. North America wars could have been started sooner. Creek was in coring range after Manchurian Mexico formed.

246.jpg

Kiowa's position could be troublesome. Inland natives are one of the biggest limiting factors to finish time.

247.jpg

Trucebreak France to cede the cores that were just taken for Revanchism.

248.jpg

Return to the Old Ways for the first time this run.

249.jpg

Merchant setup was ignored for a long time which led to a bit of a downturn.

250.jpg

Bonuses for Revanchism. Paris was also ceded.

251.jpg

Adm and Mil techs will be kept at 10 for a while.

252.jpg

Up to 115 Princes.

253.jpg

Northern Africa wars.

254.jpg

15 full stated development.

255.jpg

Southeast Asia has a few countries above 100 war score.

256.jpg

Low stated development allows almost any culture to be accepted and promoted to primary culture.

257.jpg

Professionalism hovers around 60 for the manpower refund ability. Extra mil points are used to trade for manpower.

258.jpg

Arabian tag witch in 1539 to remove separatism again.

259.jpg

Very few countries left with more than 200 war score.

260.jpg

Ottomans almost gone.

261.jpg

Mopping up India. Double peace is used whenever possible.

262.jpg

New Arabia forms. Louisiana CN soon.

263.jpg

Ming killed off in 1540.

263a.jpg

New King, slightly better than the 2/5/2.

264.jpg

Still same tech. Colonialism is not embraced to keep the mp cap.

265.jpg

Maghreb coast handed off to CCR vassals.

266.jpg

Ottoman Empire killed off.

267.jpg

Working on Southeast Asian islands.

268.jpg

Arabian Louisiana forms. No need for Canadian CN. Economy tanking from bad merchant setup.

269.jpg

Spain's capital can't be forced into the HRE due to Hindu conversion so they needs to be full annexed. Same with Naples and England.

270.jpg

1546 peace. Madagascar is split between Karaman and Ramazan, both Sunni HRE vassals with CCR.

271.jpg

Reorganized merchants at this point. Indus transfers straight to Samarkand, skips Kashmir.

272.jpg

From Samarkand all the way to Wien, going through as many nodes as possible in between.

273.jpg

Collecting in Saxony and nodes beyond Saxony with partial trade power.

274.jpg

Chinook refuses to migrate towards me.

275.jpg

All of Japan adds up to about 350 war score. Multiple trucebreaks needed.

276.jpg

Inland Louisiana and Eastern American natives almost gone.

277.jpg

Three trucebreaks left for England.

278.jpg

Three for Spain.

279.jpg

Scandinavian capitals still need to be returned.

280.jpg

Lots of Japanese capital forts to siege down still. Excruciating wars.

281.jpg

Kiowa migrates near Arabian Louisiana.

282.jpg

One trucebreak for Inca.

283.jpg

India almost done. Economy improves. Bankruptcy needs to be avoided before the WC is over. Other than that the economy is not important.

284.jpg

Continuous culture shifts before every batch of coring. England is divided up between Holland and Hamburg.

285.jpg

Not a good event.

285a.jpg

Balance in the black now. No danger of bankruptcy.

286.jpg

Chinook still one province away.

287.jpg

Navajo two provinces away, but Spain might colonize towards them. Chinook, Navajo, and inland Africa require at least three more colonies, four if Spain does not help.

288.jpg

Almost finished with South America.

289.jpg

Starting on Western Africa.

290.jpg

Kongo above 100 war score.

291.jpg

Rukwa needs a colonist.

292.jpg

Slowly chipping away at Japan. Parts of the island are given to Haixi and Bashkiria.

293.jpg
