I fear we misunderstand each other, Mister Weaver. My intention is not to wage war against the Triple Alliance: my intention is to bypass the alliance altogether by focusing our foreign policy on the Far East. Here we enjoy the home ground advantage, for the British behemoth lies in India and China peers anxiously at her northern borders. It is my policy to stifle Russian influence and bring her former victims into our sphere of solidary, not fight a war against her. As such, and believing that there are no points of contention between us, I would gladly support your bid for nomination.

The US can not join a war because of some squabble in Europe. The US need not to have influence in Europe at all. Mr. Weaver's foreign policy is what sold me his ticket. He promises not to send the sons of our workers to die on a foreign battlefield. Let Europe sort out Europe. Germany, Austria and Russia can't threaten the United States of America.

I would like to ask the ACP candidates their position on European intervention. I must say the prospect of sending our forces across the ocean to meddle in European affairs is a very bad idea. Americans do not want to see their sons dying in a far off European battlefield when our nation is not threatened.

I, personally, have no intention of sending soldiers to Europe in the case of a European conflict. Such is none our affair.

I do, however, feel differently about our hemisphere. I believe that our position of dominance in the Americas is being undermined by the Chileans and the USCA, and Peru's anti-capitalist government is a threat to both American interests and the lives of the Peruvian people. Therefore, I believe intervention in Central and South America is necessary to reassert ourselves, and to bring democracy and freedom back to Peru.

(( fine then we assume that he was in the marines for a bit -_-. Also I said my guy was democrat not socialist, although he is far left wing democrat))

((well balls it all guess I am a socialist))

(( They're basically the labor party. They've consistently leaned more towards proposals of nationalizing things on their left wing then of encouraging a social revolution, as compared to say the Communistas in Shadow of the Andes or earlier Libertarian types who were more trade unionist syndicalist/revolutionary socialists. So really the left of the Democrats are closer to the center-left or just the democratic left as it were than earlier socialist Libertarians, as they aren't so much about worker control of the means of production as democratic authority in the commanding heights of the market place; like the left wing the Labour Party - which is kind of where I stole my platform from, Tony Benn and the 1923 Labour manifesto also. It's about interventionism rather than about class warfare; for instance the Wobblies were a freedom loving bunch, but their idea of workers management in all areas of agriculture and industry is considered traditionally be ultra-left - as are the principles of say soldiers committees vs. a regular military structure.

Pacifists who want to nationalize key industries are not far-left in real life in the modern political map; they're the left edge of the acceptable/mainstream spectrum. You have the center of the Labour Party UK for instance in the center-left, the right of the Labour Party and the left of the Tories at the center-right, and then the Bennites at the Left. All are too the right of the far-left microparties like the Socialists and so forth. ))

((I was more referring to Tony Benn.))

I shall submit my policies for review by the honorable congressmen and politicians here. My policies are geared towards emphasizing personal freedoms in this glorious nation, advocating continued cooperation between government and industry forthe benefit of all, expanding our sphere of influence in the Americas and across the Pacific, spreading representative democracy to the corners of the globe, and attempting an improvement of ties with the tripartite.

Economic Policy: Laissez Faire/ Intervention, and Free Trade

It is central to my belief that this country has surged ahead due to its practice of letting the economy choose for itself what is efficient and what isnt. On the other hand, the recent trust busting has shown us that there is a place for government to take to in fact protect the free market and consumers. Thus, we must have a government which stands in to support the consumer, the mistreated worker, and ultimately the glorious free market.

Military Policy: Pro-War

While I do not wish openly for war, we can not back down when trying to assert our regional influence, or trying to free those oppressed. We cannot lose face, and we will, if necessary, respond in force when force is brought to us. We must continue to innovate, to keep our armed forces the envy of the world. For this reason, I propose heavily investing in the research and construction of airplanes, and the mystery entity known as a barrel.

Citizenship Policies: Pluralism, Full Citizenship

All people were created equal. We are a country of immigrants, and let all come to our shores to boost our population, continue to settle unclaimed land in the West, and to move this country forward into a glorious renaissance!

Foreign Policy: Spread influence, spread Democracy, warm relations with Germany

We will continue to spread our sphere to democracies in the Americas for mutual defense of our glorious freedoms. We will, when the people of an opressed nation need it, intercede and help spread Democracy to them. We will continue to spread our interests over the Pacific to provide new markets for our industries. We will do whatever we can for the advancement of America, and global prosperity. On that note, I also wish to attempt a warming of relations with Germany. While we must make our economic and defense packs for a potential war, we must attempt to stop any such war from ever occurring with Germany.

Here are my policies. Together, the people, industry, and government, can work together, to thrust the United States of America to heights never before seen. Freedom and Prosperity to all, America for the American people!

The Air Report Part 1 (exerpts from the diary or Clint Westwood)

Initial theorizing over the practical use of aircraft is going well. The most obvious use of course is for spotting enemy positions however there are a number of clear obsticles in the way. First of all, current technology prevents planes from making flights for more then a short period of time and the planes are far too slow. Clearly technological advances must be made in this area. Another problem is our budget. Even if aircraft proove to be of signifigant use on the battlefield it is likely that the other services(that of the land and that of the sea) will jelously gaurd every dollar for themselves. This problem can only be overcome by a major public relations campaign to convince the average Americain, and more importaintly the average politician, that air power will be viable in the future. The funds we have now are enough to sustain a small force to work in cohesion with the army, but far more will be need for the development of a worthy US air corps. If only we had a conflict with which to show them the potential...

End of Report
