He opened the brown envelope. A milky-white piece of paper, prominently embossed with the Reichsadler, fell out. He picked it up, and unfolded it.
The man looked into the distance, beyond the koi pond, beyond the walls of the palace, beyond Mount Fuji, towards the rising sun.
Chapter 2: The East is Orange.
The forces on the eastern front were soon to be swelled with their comrades thanks to the new production runs being put out by the communist chinese, as the forces of liberation and freedom swept down into the heartland of southern china.
By October 5th the red army had once again occupied Nanjing after breaking the beleaguered nationalist forces and pursued attacks all along the coast. Cries of jubilation were heard from the street as the red army marched victoriously through the streets, Comrade Zhukov at the helm of three divisions of infantry, shoring up defences there and waiting for the flanking units to catch up before setting his eyes on Japanese shanghai.
Further west the combined assaults of the peoples liberation army and the red army led attacks into former Yunnan, liberating the land from the puppet imperialists. in a press statement comrade Mao stated he would "drive them from the mountains, wipe them from the plains. I will not rest until the pretenders of the people are driven into the sea never to return."
By December, Lin Biao's elite forces were marching victoriously into Shanghai; the minimal resistance that came from the local police forces were quickly swept away amass the tide of red commandos that ran through the city.
The combined forces attacked all along the axis of advance, but as forces advanced to the fore, sedition was spread by the Japanese to the rear. in a move unprecedented, Japanese dissidents sprung up in the mountain province of Datong, that forced the PLA to send a contingent to wipe them out to the man.
in the first week of the new year, the red army had succeeded in the encirclement of several divisions of japanese and puppet forces. as propaganda blazed from loudspeakers, the forces in the pocket decided to lay down their arms, and surrendered to the forces of Lin Biao, without a man killed.
In the next week there was a general collapse all along the front, as red forces pushed into the retreating masses of nationalists, until all the nationalists had regrouped and the Japanese had made a limited advance forwards. But all of these efforts seemed to be in vain with the irresistible red tide pushing south.
By the End of February and the beginning of March the only thing that stopped the advance of the red tide was that of the weather, and of the terrain. The coast was swept in a sea of PLA, with the glorious red air force flying overhead, their ground attack and interdiction missions destroying all Japanese forces. By the end of march the nationalists were a mere pocket of forces against the back of the Japanese.
It was on this day that the PLA high command recieved this notice.

RE: Tensions on the western front.
Comrades! Tensions are escalating on the western front in Europe, and the international outcry is building against the revolution in the east. The Finns in particular have been rattling their sabres on the borders of Murmansk. If war breaks out in the west, it is planned that an incursion into Finland that would bring them into the proletariat. Even further west the poles and the Germans have had tensions escalating over the past year over Danzig, and Adolf Hitler is moving closer and closer to a second European war. Comrades we must ensure our borders in the west before we can deal with the east. This message is to inform you that as of August 1939 all forces not containing the menace of the Japanese in the Russian Far East will be redeployed to northern Russia, or to the western border.
A force of one (1) army will be left to deal with Japanese incursions in eastern Siberia, but we would ask for your assistance in pushing the Japanese out of Siberia. The Japanese fleet is fierce, and to combat them the forces of Russia would be willing to sell off portions of the pacific fleet as well as older parts of the Baltic and black fleets so as to defend your ports from invasion.

Believe me, we're trying. Japan and Germany are our foreseeable enemies. USA is the 'final boss', so to speak.
Since this is our first time with DAIM, can readers tell us just how tough DAIM gets on normal/furious? Right now, Japan is a bit of a pushover (getting cut off from supplies while in China probably doesn't help), but Alexon47 is getting worried about Barbarossa.

Comrades! Success in the East is a sure sign for success in the West, as tensions with Finland are reaching a fever pitch over what is rightfully soviet land, it looks like there will be war in the west soon too, with surprising German belligerence over the Danzig question, given how easily the Germans backed down over the issue of the Sudetenland Germans previously. In the East, forces have almost been pushed out of the Motherland, as well as the Korean Peninsula, and only pockets of resistance remain in Southern China. We of the Red Army ask those currently planning the next Five Year Plan to further expand our glorious Motherland's industrial capacity, led by Comrade Lazer Kaganovich, for additional funds to be allocated to mountain/arctic specialist training, for possible commando strikes into Finland, as well as the raising of new tank divisions, after the destruction of the First Tank Army at Beijing a year ago. Along with the second request, mobile infantry divisions to provide the tank divisions with dismounted cover are essential, as shown by our experiences liberating China, and greater numbers of motor-rifle and possibly cavalry are also requested.

Comrades! The heroic forces of the Red Navy successfully merged the North Sea Fleet with the Baltic Fleet in June, and are conducting naval exercises throughout the Baltic. In the Black Sea our fleet is contained so as not to pass through the Bosphorus by the Turks, thus making it impossible to exercise our naval sphere of influence into the Mediterranean. Unfortunately though, almost all of the equipment in the west is pre-revolution era, and is outstripped by all but the most minor of powers. at this point the Red Navy would be no match for the Kriegsmarine or the Royal Navy, to say nothing of the United States Navy or the IJN in the pacific. The latter pose the greatest problem because even though the Japanese forces on the mainland are on the whole defeated, their naval influence is extensive, and will make the final assault on the home islands very difficult. therefore we humbly request that our Comrade Ministers see fit to produce more ships for the Red Navy to allay the Motherland's concerns about growing tensions worldwide.

Comrades! Much success is being wrought by the Red Air Force in the east, using our close air support craft to destroy divisions that are doing a census of trees in Siberia, as well as the last pockets of resistance in the South of China. As a low priority project the Red Air Force would recommend the construction and training of new interceptor and fighter wings so as to adequately cover the new improved IL-2 close air support craft that is being phased into service.

i come to be the bearer of bad news in that i just accidentally deleted the screenshots from between the end of july to november. what does this mean? we're opening up a new contest!!! Join the Ranks of the Red Army or the PLA as either a general staffer, or an extra who we kill off in fluffdates! Why? Because i'm actually writing a story to this thing now!
Chapter 2.1: Peace? Yob tvoyu mat!
In a bunker in Vladivostok, Colonel Krzycki had a note to the Japanese from none other then Iosif Stalin. the Japanese had asked for peace, listing a long list of ceded provinces to the Soviet Union and to The PLA.
Stalin responded with a borscht-stained napkin, upon which was scribbled a favorite Russian vulgarity: "Yob tvoyu mat!"
In April the forces of the proletariat charged into the south of China, Colonel Krzycki sent a report to one of the adjutants in the PLA, asking for their status. Colonel Zhang, attached to the elite Eighth Route Army, conveniently sent a map, which was quickly forwarded to Stavka.
The situation was still grim in the east, with the Japanese controlling portions of Korea as well as forcing the Red Army out of Vladivostok again.
Although the situation looked grim, in July the situation perked up with the encirclement of Japanese forces in Siberia.
The celebration for the release of the workers of Indochina, spearheaded by the PLA, was held on the 23 of July. the formal message to the people looked like this.
COMRADES! THE RANKS OF THE WORKERS SWELL DAY BY DAY! REJOICE IN THE FRUITS OF YOUR LABOR FOR THE HOUR OF FREEDOM FROM THE BOURGEOIS IS AT HAND!
The Major General passed the report to the new Commander of Stavka High Command, General Conan. Conan was pleased with the news, shivering in the last remaining bastion outside of Vladivostok. He shivered, and said "This is good Comrades, we will be relieved soon. Pass the vodka."
