Thank you guys for your work on this amazing mod and keeping Darkest Hour modding alive!

@Nesic8693
Thanks again for that ModDB link, mod downloads and works perfectly. I'm not sure what's wrong with Mediafire these days.

I've played the mod as Mexico Empire of the 1936 scenario and won the civil war, but after that, she got repetitively bankrupt events, and money had been always below zero and never recovered. I thought she is not a playable (or enjoyable?) nation so I gave it up.
I think some improvements in industry events demand too much money and resources because she doesn't have so strong economy to afford them, and I had to cancel them.
Also, after a minister died event, she didn't have any ministers in the commander in chief.

Today, I've played a game as Bengal and realized that more than half of their generals are actually Japanese. lol.

Also, WW2 didn't happen because Puerto Rico randomly revolted against Spain and France DoW with them due to an independence guarantee with Spain. and the beginning of the WW2 event requires a peace status for France (Perhaps, changing it to "not war with ENG" or something like that will be enough to fix the bug).

I've played an Ottoman Empire game in the 1914 scenario and quite enjoyed it.
But it seems like a few bugs existed in the scenario.
After my Turkish boys entered Berlin and Prussia surrendered, their message was bugged. Also, the Italy and Russia surrender messages were bugged too.

After that, Russia entered a civil war with the Soviets, but the Soviet cabinet members were almost non-existent. Also at the beginning of the civil war, Russia moved her capital to Seoul in Korea for whatever reason, even though she had controlled Petrograd.

EDIT: By the way, I just found an odd thing above the picture that the Soviet has a territorial claim on Ecuador...what?

How did Austria-Hungary and France fight UK-Prussia-russia coalition for 4 years? These alliances seem a lot more sopsided than IRL.

What's up with manpower? There are no mobilization decision available?

Any plans for non-hitler rebuilding of Austria-Hungary?

Why does Deloncle have -90 and -75 on foreign IC and manpower? That makes it so you get basically nothing out of the rhineland and flanders since you dont get cores on them. This even worse considering that France has "Prince of Terror" as minister of security at the start that does nothing because of Deloncles debuff leaving you with only 10% extra consumer goods. Even Hitler doesnt have a debuff that big in base game even through he brutally occupied most of europe.

Also talking about cores, on the game files I noticed that if you switch to French Empire or Republic you get cores on all territores I just talked about. Is this an oversight or is it there to boost those tags?

And a few bugs I noticed while playing: The mobilization system which the AI just doesnt know how to do. As France while i was controlling Romanias army they just kept loosing againt the soviets even when outnumbering them 5:1 beacuse they were not mobilising and their divisions had no strength. The HOI2 manpower system also gives insanely low manpower even during wartime.

Some chinese ministers have bonuses and descriptions from base game german ministers that give stupidly op bonuses like +20 IC.

I've played a USSA game in the 1936 scenario.
I manually DoWed and conquered the CSA, and then an event of FDR's speech in 1941 said "to resolve the CSA problem", which had already been resolved by me.

And at the beginning of Operation Barbarossa Charlemagne, the USSA couldn't join the war with the Soviets' side by using the decision, which is rather questionable. Anyways I manually allied with the USSR and send all my boys to Danzig and from here conquered Germany and then went to France.
After occupying Paris and almost conquering entire France, the surrender event happened. They surrendered to ... the UK, even though they didn't send any divisions into the continent. Of course, I rage quit. lol.
Also, Ottoman Empire which had joined with France's side and was almost conquered by the USSR ceased fire too and restore their lost territory completely, which is not realistic.

France_Surrender.png

By the way, the pink color over south Germany and the Balkan peninsula is not the UK. They are the south German federation and Croatia which were manually released by me.
And as the above picture showed, I manually released the Papal State too, which I guess should not be possible by not only the USSA but any socialist nation.

I'm overall a big fan of this mod: the alt-history stuff here is very cool. However, there is a problem that hinders the overall game experience. While I'm aware that the problems with manpower can be solved by implementing the KR folder, some of the minor nations don't have any manpower. This makes a French playthrough a nightmare, as the minor nations collapse extremely quickly and I have to deal with a billion fronts as a response. Charlemagne is a slog. The Austrian and Polish divisions that are supposed to cover my flanks collapse very quickly because they have 0 manpower. Same case with the Ottoman Empire.

Another problem is that the AI of these nations acts in nonsensical ways. The Ottomans don't protect their borders from the Soviets and sent a lot of divisions to Africa instead. The Polish concentrate their divisions in their nation instead of sending them to Russia, so I'm constantly overwhelmed everywhere.

I love this mod to death, but I would like to see these issues improved in the future.

Hi! Last day I returned to DH and downloaded this mod, it's nice to see some work on the WWI scenario at last. I tried a game as France and I couldn't help but notice that AI keeps the reinforcements slider at 0.00 resulting in AI armies to gradually disintegrate and give way to my forces after the first impacts. This led to a rather easy conquest of Prussia, at the same time however, for the same reason Russians managed to reach Vienna and cause the dismembering of A-H.

Now I moved on to replay the WWII scenario and it definitely shows which of the two got more attention throughout the years.
If you allow a critique on a minor feature lorewise, I think that the whole process with which France and Italy cement their alliance is built upon extremely shaky grounds. For starters a fervently nationalistic Italy led by a fascist government would never cede Corsica back to France; it takes a huge effort in terms of suspension of disbelief to see that happening.
It must be understood that in this case Corsica wouldn't be a random piece of land awarded to Italy as a prize for her contribution in the last war but we're talking of a land deeply tied to the history and culture of the Italian peninsula since time immemorial which in the Italian collective imaginary has always been seen as wrongfully occupied by the French, moreso in a collective imaginary fueled by a fascist nationalist government. Even then, it would be political suicide for the Duce to comply to French demands.
I'd suggest to review the lore behind this event and remodel it to closely mirror another very similar event which actually happened in history; namely the Alto Adige / South Tyrol Options Agreement between Mussolini and Hitler, where it was agreed between the two newly allied powers to settle the dispute by recognizing the land as belonging to Italy while granting German nationality and a new home in the German Nation to anyone who wanted to emigrate.
In game terms it could translate in some additional manpower representing those living in Corsica emigrating to France, a boost in relations with Italy and perhaps a small percentage of national unrest for France representing the dissatisfaction of some fringes of the most nationalistic population for the settling of the territorial dispute.

Hmmmm, I think that somewhat ignores the unique circumstances of TBL. Firstly, we're just as much speaking about France here, just as proud and stingy about land as IRL, moreso even due to the very successful Second Empire and now a highly revanchist regime. The difference between this France and IRL Germany at this time is that there is no interest in large territorial aquisitions to be effectively colonized ala the US's Manifest Destiny. France seeks its "natural borders" and to liberate Europe from the threat of communism coming from the east, but leaves Poland and the locals to it. Secondly is that this is a rather different Italy. Italy's only colonies before WWI were in East Africa, since the Ottomans, with French backing, still held on to Tunisia and Libya. Italy's victory in WWI came with rather more territorial acquisitions, which is part of the reason why when Mussolini attempted his "coup" in 1921 he was arrested, leading the fascists to be lead by Balbo who would achieve electoral success in the 1930'ies. Even if the invasion of Ethiopia is much more successful (already finished by the 1936 start) it still leads to diplomatic isolation from the post WWI order set about by the British and Germans.

But nothing of that would convince Balbo, much less the Italian people, to simply surrender Corsica which is a territory perceived as part of the homeland, not a colony or an oversea territory. Italy is as proud and stingy about land as France, especially in the fascist timeframe.

Natural borders were in reference to lands that had traditionally been inhabited by what eighteenth and nineteenth century liberals believed were Gallic tribes along geographic features, not a Mediterranean island that only held peripheral relevance to French economic and social interests and was taken primarily as a way of salving the losses of the Seven Years War - France had expressed more interest in Catalonia than Corsica historically prior to being invited by the Genoese to posses the island. I also don't think a regime that, in part, legitimizes itself by standing in opposition to what the Second Empire was would want to go out of its way to reclaim an island explicitly associated with the Bonapartes.

with regards to France and Corsica (Deloncle-Balbo meeting) it was in the prior lore and currently there is no desire to eliminate that event chain from the mod. besides it is only two events with the second event the referendum giving France land that the 3rd republic surrendered out of Potsdam or giving them dissent.

The AI not mobilizing has been a problem with the mod for a long time and probably won't be resolved anytime soon.

Morning guys,

The veterans around here are probably aware of it, but for everyone else: it's not dead.
6-ish months between updates is pretty much what RL allows me, so nothing out of the ordinary here.
Thank you as always for your steadfast feedback.
We'll have more info for you soon enough.

Cheers

Work continues and soon, we will have a patch for you to install.

See you in two weeks!

The patch is not game-breaking, so you should be able to install it on the 0.7.2 version of TBL, bringing it to the new version (0.7.3) without losing progress in your current games. Of course, the caviat to this is that some of the fixes may not be apparent in a previous save, so to have the patch fully in effect you will have to start a new one. Please continue to report the bugs you encounter, it is incredebly helpful to us and it contributes to making The Bonaparte Legacy a better mod.

⚜⚜⚜

You can download the patch HERE

For installing, simply unzip the patch files in your existing Bonaparte Legacy main directory and overwrite when asked to.

EDIT: Download links of the complete mod package on the frontpage have been updated to v0.7.3.
People downloading TBL for the first time can now simply download the mod in its latest version from there, without the patch files.

As always, thank you for your support and have fun testing the patch!

Cheers,
The TBL Team

I noticed playing as the UK today some late game model names are now early game models, The Gloucester Gladiator is the Gloucester Meteor Mk 1 and and lot of late game stuff is generic. This intentional or an oversight?
