FEEDBACK
The house was finally bought this weekend and I now have an utterly massive list of things to do but when I do get the chance to do some playing I need to find a faction to play. So far people have suggested Ryukyu, Maldives, Mazovia, Navarra and Ethiopia. None of these greatly appeal, I've had a quick test at Mongol Khanate -> Buddhist Mughal Empire with a no westernisation house rule...
How about a Papal States AAR? Get revenge on Milan for surviving the indomitable Iroquois army, and it's certainly an unusual country. Also, I don't recall seeing many other Papal States AARs around, though admittedly I tend to look for new AARs sporadically.
Turning Buddhist and getting away from your roots should be a no-no if you intend that. Instead, keep westernization but have a no-religion-change house rule.
On the other hand, if Mongol Khanate is already Buddhist, forgive my ignorance. Then, I'll advise another (Shamanist) Central Asian Khanate and keeping westernization. Too bad you didn't like Maldives, though there isn't anything to like about a Maldives game.

naggy - How? Do you have an outline plan?
I think Ethiopia could be interesting in MMP, but probably not for a WC. The idea of MK in vanilla sounds good, although I'm not sure you'll get good karma playing a country with the same initials as Milton Keynes
Now do Ethiopia
