Some provinces get more resources in them as the time passes. Singapour and Koala Lumpur for example. Japan is certainly in troubles, but there is good way to avoid this:

Conquer a bit of CHina and establish Mengkukuo state. Then invest supplies there. You will get a lot of metal and some rares which will be enough for you.

Singapour and provinces to the north of it + Netherland colonias will make you enough materials. I had about 250-300 IC as Japan in several campaigns and was going pretty well.
But he sad he wanted to join the allies he cat take singapore and Netherland colonias then?

I doubt its possible to join Allies. I've tried to play "peacefully" but USA still DoWed me first.

If he join them he could not. Well, this is quite realistic - Japan suffered from scarce resources (especially oil), while having decent industry and good manpower (more than UK), that is why they were almost forced to declare war to USA and UK.

Just curious, why quintelosky does not look here? I dont see his posts at all

Well i must say with enough wrestling it's possible to get Japan into the allies and fufil the resources needs of a 6-8x parallel industrial expansion rate. But be ready to sell supplies to get the cash to influence ALOT.

I'm just hit 1937 and i'm doing my best to pull off a "tech slingshot"
i've gotten research speed to about 173% as it stands but i worry if i don't go over to industrial to get specialised materials and fuel relatively soon i might not be up to date by wars arrival. That said...i'm blazing through doctrines like there's no tommorow, especially with the occasional allied blueprint to help out.

loving the mod, loving the depth of the tech tree, watching the SCW play out has actually been interesting. Don't think i'll be able to get to Yamato in time to sink the bismark though..not with this tech tree.

How can I tell if declaring war on someone will make someone else declare war on me? As Germany, I took Finland in the winter of 1939 to alleviate my resource problems and as a result (not sure, but I did no other ahistorical DOWs apart from speeding everything up a bit) the Soviets declared on me in 1940.

Had the same problem playing as Soviets, took Afghanistan, Iran and the by-then independent Iraq and got DOWed by the Allies. Likewise, taking Sinkiang will often bring Nationalist China to attack you.

All this without guarantees of independence, I obviously checked for those. How can I tell which countries I can take with impunity?

As Germany, I have taken Yugoslavia, Turkey, Greece, Hungary, Albania, Bulgaria, Romania, and/or Italy. There is a trick to getting them. You must DOW before Poland and France starts doing their GoI's. Greece and Turkey normally will DOW you if you attack Yugoslavia and Italy will DOW you when you take Albania.

I just find that these countries are not worth the effort to hold so in my current game I only DOW'ed Yugoslavia. Greece DoW'ed me. I conquered both but puppeted Yugoslavia and gave it Greece.

I can't seem to get the no time limit mod to work

each time I select 'HoI2.exe' and click 'patch it,' it gives me this:

"Run-time Error '75':
Path/File access error"

can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Check to make sure the file path is set right. I some times have to manually set mine to get it to work.

I not sure that this is the only cause.

Ensure that you are not running the game at this time. Because another cause may be is that HoI just being executed

Decided vanilla + CCIP just wasnt enough fun :p

I made a fresh, clean install and copied a directory over for this mod.

Big problem though... Vanilla graphics !!

Which icons and sprites will flawlessly work with Mod34 ? I saw the mention that certain icons need to be adjusted... but how so ?

Thanks in advance !

P.S. GIP or DMP gfx packs both look good but I don't really require either. I use GIP on my vanilla install.

Also, as Italy, I would like to abandon a naval doctrine to advance in a more CV centric one but, the doctrine line I wish to pursue is still deactivated. Is this a bug or WAD ?

Ahh, that's a shame. To ease my editing, what is the tech number I need to remove for researching mobile warfare (naval doctrine)?

Also, does this apply to all mod34 techs? Having to edit any abandoned tech lines to change the path ?

u will have to look in the tech file for nav docs and get the number, the name should be in the config file.

btw my puppets are get partisan uprisings in their nation territories in the a bug or WAD.
