it was one of those new type of events that a screenshot of or two have been posted at the screenshots site. I could decide to keep it in macedonia or move it to thrace.

The AI is pretty good. The problem is that Turkey is surrounded by a bunch of countries that are meant to be gobbled up quite quickly, and lots of one province countries. And Turkey gets great leaders in this period and so on.
It's not easy for the AI.

Im playing this on weak/easy setting because im trying to gauge(spelling?) the differences of the various ai settings to see how they do.. im not sure if theyve been done properly or even been put in yet.. hmm..

from eu1, i can certainly say that the AI moves theyre troops a lot better now. in eu1 it was quite ridiculous how i could attack a massive poland for example, and win, even though i should have lost. just because i outmanouvered the ai army.
and thats a significant ai improvement.
 
Personally I'm glad to see all that AI annexing going on. In EU1 I got really tired of minor countries overrunning each other and then accepting peace for 167 gold. It'll make it much more interesting to watch areas not immediately relevant to you, like France if you're playing Turkey.
 
I am reading a really good book right now called "The Ottoman Centuries" by Lord Kinross... The Ottomans pretty much did what you did, Pete... Byzantium at that time was little more than a Turkish vassal and not that shining empire many players think it was

Yeah and than 1492 to 1570s...Which makes me wonder, how will the turkish AI handle it? Having lots of badboy points......
 
Maybe when they take Byzantium and move their capital they will get a reset in their BB? Or some similar events perhaps...

Bulgaria turning catholic if turkey is going too well seems realistic.
But it's too easy to supress the rebellion!! :D

Bloody catholics! Hellas went from population 23,000 to 7,000. Bulgaria from 17,000 to 5,000! Only in 1488 was I able to send missionaries to both provinces, in some 70 months my problems should end, hopefully, armies of 25,000 men are now guarding the provinces from future revolts.
